An enchanting reformed farmhouse cottage in an idyllic private location, set in the very heart of the Colonya Valley, surrounded by green woodland and pretty olive groves.

It's a villa full of lovely surprises. The house is extremely private and peaceful with the most amazing views down into the valley. A tranquil spot for a quiet nature holiday but with Pollenca Old Town just a short drive away for fantastic restaurants or for the bustling Sunday morning market.

The villa is at the very end of a quiet lane and has a large gravelled parking area with a pretty mirador that has a small table and chairs from where to enjoy the fabulous views.

The pool area has surrounding sun terraces with a low balustrade wall next to a covered barbecue casita with bench table and chairs and corner sofas.

Three steps up lead to a large covered terrace that runs the full length of the villa. There is a solid distressed wood dining table here with wrought iron backed chairs, antique farming implements, stone seating with pretty cushions, beautiful plant pots and a comfy wicker sofa and table to relax with a book and a glass of wine. Arabic lights give an eclectic bohemian feel and a calming atmosphere.

There is also a "chill-out" covered area at the side of the terrace furnished with a white mattress with a canopy and seating. There is also a luxury exterior shower bathroom with a large walk-in shower, wc and sink unit.

The entrance to this stunning villa is through a mallorcan low-beamed solid wood door on the terrace and leads into this delightful villa that has original open stone walls and beamed ceilings. There is a solid wood and glass dining table with a large chandelier hanging above. The design is a fusion of traditional Mallorcan farmhouse with a contemporary interior and the effect is amazing.

The kitchen is open plan and is to the left. It has white units with an island for the sink and storage units. There is a modern vitro hob with a large stainless steel cooker hood, a split level oven and microwave, a large fridge freezer and a small dispenser with mallorcan wood door.

The lounge is to the right and is decorated simply with open stone and neutral walls, a cream sofa and a distressed coffee table. There is a flat screen TV here with a DVD player and wood-burning stove. A door with small glass panes leads onto the front covered terrace.

Between the lounge and the dining room is a stairway leading to the upper level bedrooms. On the left is a fantastic twin bedroom (beds pushed together) that has sloping beamed ceilings with spotlights, deep red painted walls and striking bedside tables and arabic wall lights. There is a large picture window that looks out over the valley across rolling fields towards Pollensa. The bathroom is completely inside the bedroom and has a wc separated from view by a small dividing wall. There is a large modern sink unit and a large corner jacuzzi bath.

To the right of the stairway is another bedroom that has two beds pushed together decorated with distressed white wood furniture. This bedroom also has the bathroom integrated into the bedroom with the wc hidden from view by a small dividing wall. It has a rectangular jacuzzi bath and both baths have a hidden pull out shower attachment for showering. There is also a glass sink on a pedestal here and pretty small paned windows overlooking the front of the villa.

There are air-conditioning units for hot and cold air in the bedrooms.

Pollensa

Pollença is a peaceful and tranquil town that remains very typically Spanish. It is four miles from the coast, nestling between two hills at the eastern end of the Tramuntana mountains. Pollença itself is indisputably pretty. Historic buildings with ochre roofs, sun-baked walls and wooden shutters line the narrow and twisting medieval streets. There are pastel-painted houses in the centre and Moorish water mills on the outskirts. It's also a haven of sleepy Mallorcan traditions - café life and the siesta roll on here as they always have. The heart of the old town is the central square, Plaça Major, where there are many café-bars and fine restaurants. Pollença also has lots of galleries of Mallorcan art and design, and a town museum. The most famous walk in Pollença is up the 365 steps of the tree-lined 'Calvario' - the Calvari Hill. There is a tiny church at the top with amazing views over the town and across wooded valleys to the sea.

Local knowledge

Taste: Pollensa old town boasts some of the best restaurants on the island. From traditional Mallorcan to international cuisine, each has its own blend of atmosphere and tradition.

Weekly Market: It's especially lively in Pollença on market day, every Sunday morning, with stalls selling fruit, flowers, local crafts, clothes and household goods.

Discover: Pollença is nestled between two hills. One of these hills is Puig de Maria with an 18th-century monastery perched on the summit - a walk to the top is well worth the effort for spectacular views over Pollença and down to the sea.

Supermarkets: Large SYP/ Eroski Centre situated just off the main Pollença to Puerto Pollença, plus two in the town centre.

Villaparade first discovered the unspoilt Pollença region twenty years ago and fell in love with the wonderful countryside all around - from the dramatic mountains to the lush valleys. Since then we're very proud to have built up a collection of some of the finest holiday villas and apartments in and around the area. Our principle resorts are the historic medieval town of Pollença and the sheltered sandy bay of Puerto Pollença which are detailed on the following pages.Other areas of the Pollenca region in which our villas are located are:

Cala San Vicente, another of the best-kept secrets in the North of Mallorca. It's a quiet and relaxed resort surrounded by mountains with pine-covered slopes that run down to the sea. The sparkling blue waters and the three sandy coves are very child-friendly. The spectacular countryside here is also ideal walking country, popular with ramblers and painters.

Bonaire is an exclusive residential area on the peninsula around the bay of Pollença towards Alcudia with a pretty marina called Puerto Cocodrilo and a lovely sandy beach called Mal Pas. Son Serra de Marina with its appealing marina and sandy beach is 8km from the larger resort of Ca'n Picafort which shares the same sweeping bay as Alcudia. Ca'n Picafort's lively but friendly and relaxed atmosphere is ideal for families and couples.
