About the home

The Finca
The finca is light and airy with views of the mountains from all of the windows. The original features,stone walls & wooden beams throughout give the finca a traditional feel. Open plan spaces linked by arches allow modern living on the ground floor.
Underfloor heating
The living room:
A spacious,well-furnished room with 2 sets of double doors leading onto the covered dining terrace with dining for 8. The large terrace gives respite from the sun but affords views of the garden,pool, mountains,Puig Maria & across to Pollensa.

The hall:
large square hall with arches to the living room & dining room. Open doorway to small passageway with downstairs loo & stairs
The dining room:
Lovely room with a large arched window giving views to the south over the garden to the mountains & Puig Maria. Line of sight through the arches & the lounge out through the terrace to the pool, garden, Pollensa & the mountains beyond. An arch to the farmhouse kitchen. Well furnished with a solid wooden table seating 8.
The kitchen:
Farmhouse kitchen with marble & oak worktops and a central island. The east door lets in the morning sun & leads to the rear porch. Off the porch is a utility room with washing machine,tumble drier iron,ironing board etc. A 2nd door leads to the garden & BBQ house which has a further seating area for 8+. You can drive round to the rear door to offload supplies.

Pollensa

The beautiful square is dominated by the church on one side & Puig de María on the other. Surrounded by cafes,bars & restaurants it has a real buzz especially at the sunday morning market. You can wander the narrow old streets [mostly 17th & 18th century],walk up the 365 calvario steps for a spectacular view over the town,to the bay of Puerto Pollensa, the Puig de María & surrounding mountains or simply sit in the square with a glass of wine & soak up the atmosphere.

Easyjet, Ryanair, Air Berlin, BMI baby, BA, Monarch & charters

Easyjet & Ryanair are invariably the cheapest with the former being much more user friendly & transparent.

Car Hire

It is worth using comparison websites. Try www.travelsupermarket.com www.carhire3000.com or www.arguscarhire.com

Almost all use a fuel 'full to empty' policy about which there is much irritation see Which? I use these sites to book in high season when the fuel policy rip off is offset by the cheaper overall price & use the bigger companies out of season [Hertz Avis Europcar Sixt] using their 'full to full' policy when they are more competitive. Remember that the standard of car is usually [but not always!!] better with the big boys[not enough of a reason to pay their high season prices!!].

It is usually also worth refusing the insurance add ons that whack up the prices. I use a car hire insurance policy that is one of the perks of Amex Platinum card for cover.Otherwise it is probably worth getting separate car hire insurance cover eg http://www.insurance4carhire.com



Travel Money

Halifax Clarity Credit cards offer free ATM withdrawals with no exchange rate loading. If you preload the card you can avoid any interest charges.Some banks in Pollensa allow withdrawals of 500 euros.

Norwich & Peterborough BS offer a current account with free ATM withdrawals that also comes with other perks

The only way to avoid the Ryanair card surcharges seems to be to use their own pre paid card & I can't bring myself to get one!!

“The perfect holiday home - exactly what we hoped for and more.” We booked C'an Sion having scoured the web for the perfect rustic finca near Pollensa town. We didnt want a modern villa with clinical decor and a hefty 'luxury' price tag. We wanted the real Mallorca. A beautiful, traditional finca with just enough facilities and close enough to the town and the sea to keep 4 'under tens' occupied for 2 weeks whilst making the adults feel like we were somewhere rather special. C'an Sion gave us all of this and more. It is a stunningly beautiful house in the perfect location. When we first arrived, the word 'Wow' was uttered on numerous occasions. The location is wow. The simplicity of the house and the decor is 'Wow'. The gardens, terraces and barbeque areas are 'Wow'. It really is lovely. We have been lucky enough to travel a lot and often stay in boutique hotels. C'an Sion is rather like a small boutique hotel. It is not only stunning but is also extremely well equipped, clean and very well looked after. The housekeeping and gardening team are fantastic. If there was anything I would change it would be to make the pool slightly bigger. The kids spent virtually every waking hour in the pool .... not much room for the grown ups! We would love to stay here again and won't look anywhere else next time we come back to Mallorca.

“Ca'n Sion - our 2nd stay in a beautiful house” This was our second stay in Can Sion, as we had rebooked it immediately after last year's 2 week stay. This is the most tasteful and well equipped house that we have rented in Mallorca (we have travelled there for 8 years running). Of particular note: working SKY tele and wifi / beautiful furnishings and art / well equipped kitchen / nice garden / electronic gates / two nice terraces / great views. We'll definitely consider for a 3rd year running.
