The Mallorca/Majorca region
Majorca, or Mallorca, is the largest island in the Balearic Island group, and one of the most popular. It lies in the Mediterranean Sea off the south-east coast of mainland Spain, alongside its sister islands of Minorca (or Menorca) and Ibiza.
With a sparkling coastline that spans 550 km and a rich and lively culture, it is no wonder that holidays in Majorca are so popular.
Pollenca/Pollensa area
Porto Pollensa is a 10 minute drive away. It is one of Mallorca's finest resorts and has a superb, sandy beach - great for the whole family and children in particular. Enjoy a stroll along the famous Pine Walk, people-watch from a beach-side cafe or enjoy the sophisticated night-life in the town's centre.
For the gastronome, there is a wide choice of quality restaurants in Porto Pollensa and especially in the Old Town of Pollensa with its mix of Mallorcan and international cuisine.
The town of Alcudia is only a 5 minute drive away and is an historic town with Roman and Mooorish influences. Port d’Alcudia is a lively modern resort with one of the finest beaches in the Mediterranean. There is a huge variety of things to do for the children including a water park and go-kartng to name but a few. There is a large supermarket (SYP Eroski) just 2 km from the villa on the way to Port d’Alcudia. There is also another SYP Eroski at Puerto Pollensa , which is open Monday to Saturday from 9am until 10pm and Sunday 10am to 2pm.
In the old town of Pollensa there is an excellent delicatessen that offers pre-prepared meals and meats along with an excellent wine selection. There are some very good bakers, fishmongers and butchers all nearby, locations of which are included in the Villa Roxanna information pack.
There are literally hundreds of restaurants in the area. In the Villa Roxanna information pack is a list of recommended ones which have all been tried and tested.
How to get there
Palma, Mallorca is the country's only airport. There are many car hire companies at the airport.

Guestbook for Villa Roxanna
Date Submitted: June 12, 2008 Date of Stay: May 2008 We had a lovely 2 weeks in this villa. It is perfectly situated on a small hill with beautiful views over the bay. It is a private villa along a very quiet track with just a few other houses nearby, including a farm and some friendly sheep. It is a short drive to the picturesque towns of Pollensa and Alcudia and also the slightly more touristy but still pretty ports of Pollensa and Alcudia. Both towns have market days which are worth visiting, there is a water slide park 5 minutes away, some outlet shops close by (Camper) and a vineyard with wine tasting. We also spent a day in the capital Palma (only 40 mins drive away) and had a lovely time - it's a beautiful city
Date Submitted: August 26, 2008 Date of Stay: August 2008 We spent a super week in this villa and wished we had been able to stay for a fortnight! We slept in the very comfortable beds, (in villas we have rented previously they have been hard as a rock) with lovely fluffy pillows, we didn't need copious amounts of sangria to get a good nights sleep. Very peaceful surroundings only 10 minutes drive to the nearby towns. The pool was great and the outside entertaining area came in very handy. We would recommend this villa for small families (like us) who value their privacy. We found the villa well equipped and clean and tidy on arrival. Would not hesitate to recommend this accommodation to others
Review Submitted: July 10, 2009 Date of Stay: May 2009 our stay in Villa Roxanna was simply "FANTASTIC". I think, that were our most relaxing holidays ever. The villa is furnished tastefully, we enjoyed the pool, the view over the bay of Pollensa was great and the weather was beautiful. One day there was no water in the villa, but Gordon solved the problem immediately. Unfortunately my English is so bad, that we couldn't have much conversation. If there is anything to improve at all at the villa, then we suggest to put a small table on the veranda. It would be nice having breakfast in front of the villa. My girlfriend and I want to return definitely to Villa Roxanna, but I don't know if this is possible next year. Because of the WiFi I would be able to do most of my work from Mallorca, so I can figure to have a longer stay next time.
Review Submitted: July 14, 2009 Date of Stay: July 2009 Our family has just returned from a one week stay at the beautiful Villa Roxanna. The villa is set well off the main road up a winding track, this can be alittle dicey in the dark but you get used to this. The pool area is ideal if you have younger children as there is a separate small pool area. The view is stunning and the lights from Puerto de Pollensa and Alcudia are gorgeous of an evening. The decoration within the villa is exceptional, alot of thought has obviously been put into the quality of the furniture and bedding etc. I have stayed in a couple of villas previously and the furnishings have been nowhere near as good as Villa Roxanna. The villa was very clean and tidy upon arrival and the outside area very well maintained. We have visited Puerto de Pollensa previously and this resort is as welcoming as always. I would highly recommend Villa Roxanna as the perfect getaway for a small family who want some privacy with excellent local amenities.

There are a range of restaurants near by all very baby friendly. There's the usual tourist fare and the owner of the villa will give you a sheet with more recommendations on - we took his advice and had some lovely meals.
The villa is very simply decorated and was clean and tidy: white washed walls, white bed linen and no clutter - fabulous!
There is a lovely shaded outdoor eating area and plenty of sunbeds. The pool is not heated, but was fine for swimming most days (we went in May). We took our 8 month baby in the pool and he loved it. In a year or too the baby pool will be perfect for him and we plan to return.
The kitchen has most things you need although we missed a few utensils like a potato masher and serving dishes - but the usual crockery etc is all there. We also had to buy a few things to get ourselves started eg soap, washing up liquid, washing up cloths etc which we weren't expecting but not the end of the world.
There is a CD and DVD player. I recommend you take some DVD box sets with you if you plan to have some evenings in.
Our contact couple lived in a house next door and were helpful but not intrusive. eg. there were a few light bulbs missing and they got them replaced the same day.
We plan to return to this villa again in the next few years as we had such a lovely and relaxed holiday - not bad going with an 8 month old!
