Profitis Elias Villa in Lysos is a modern private home situated on a corner plot in an elevated position overlooking the stunning surrounding valley around Peristerona and all the way to the Mediterranean Sea at Polis and Latchi.

Lysos is a very tranquil location situated just outside the traditional yet vibrant town of Polis just 20km north of Paphos. Latchi, famous for watersports and its beach is also just a quick drive away. The Lysos area is well known for its scenic views, adventurous mountain biking and walking trails, and exotic wildlife, whilst at the same time being the ideal place for a peaceful sunshine holiday.

The villa is an impressive stone built four bedroom, four bathroom detached Cyprus Holiday Villa with a private pool that has been designed, furnished and landscaped to the highest standards and creates a unique opportunity to have real taste of traditional Cypriot village life as well as all the modern comforts of home.

Enjoy relaxing on a sun lounger by the private pool, alfresco dining on the terrace and your favourite aperitif on one of the balconies as the sun sets over the mountainside and clear blue waters of the Mediterranean at Polis and Latchi.

On entering Profitis Elias Villa in Lysos, you immediately sense the thought and care that has gone in to make the villa a true home from home. Access at ground floor level leads into the lounge with beautiful large real leather sofas and 42” Plasma TV with Satellite & DVD player. The adjacent dining/breakfasting area is equipped with a smart and modern dark wood topped table and eight leather chairs in a contemporary style.

This area leads on to the fully equipped kitchen with all modern appliances including dishwasher, and coffee maker as convenient extras. Making up the ground floor is a large double bedroom with four poster bed and an en-suite shower room with large cubicle. Access from here can be gained to the beautifully kept garden and private pool area.

Upstairs is the master bedroom with balcony affording wonderful views and en-suite with Jacuzzi bath. The third and fourth bedrooms are twins and also have access small balconies, as well as a en-suite shower rooms with double sized cubicles.

The villa is fully air-conditioned (included free of charge in bedrooms). Central heating available (supplement of 25 euros per day (paid locally). The water is heated by solar panels on the roof. A travel cot and highchair are supplied on request. Other extras such as hairdryer and pool towels are also provided.

Access to Profitis Elias Villa in Lysos is through an impressive set of electric gates that lead into the private driveway. The stone built villa is complimented by a beautifully landscaped garden featuring many colourful flowers and a well manicured lawn.

The centrepiece of the exterior is a very inviting 8m x 4m private pool with ample room for sun loungers (six supplied). Also on the pool terrace, there is a table, chairs and adjacent gazebo with picnic bench. Both give uninterrupted views of the surrounding valley, the Mediterranean Sea, Peristerona, Polis and Latchi.

A large stone built BBQ and smartly designed pool shower make up the external areas. The views from this area are quite spectacular, making it the ideal place for relaxing in the sun or shade, alfresco dining and socialising with your party.

**Please note that this property can be accessed at any time after 3pm on arrival day so don't worry if you have a late flight. You will be met on arrival at the villa. We can arrange taxi transfer by our own driver who knows where the property is and assist with car hire from the airport if desired. The property is professionally managed (you will always have a contact) and has linen changes and cleaning on a weekly basis. Air-Conditioning in the bedrooms (lounge payable extra if required) is included in the rental price as is a welcome pack of basic essentials and wine for your arrival.**

The Paphos region

Paphos airport is 40 minutes away by very good quality roads with English road signs. Visit Lysos and you won’t be disappointed.

Travel a little way (passing the pretty village of Peristerona) and you reach the larger village of Polis. There is plenty of activity to choose from, whether you wish to dine in one of the many good quality restaurants, have a coffee or lunch in the central square, hire mountain bikes, quad bikes or maybe even a boat!

The nearby Latchi beach is renowned as one of the best on this side of the island and not as crowded as the beaches in and around Paphos itself (which can be reached by car in 30 minutes or under). Latchi beach is famous for its clear blue sea, soft white sand and a great selection of watersports which are readily available. Take one of the boat rides to the ‘Blue Lagoon’, have a swim and/or snorkel, then come back to the pretty harbour/fishing port and have the famous ‘Fish Meze’ where you will be served approx 20 dishes including some of the freshest catches of the day whilst watching the world go by.

For the more adventurous, you can enter the ‘Akamas’ Nature reserve and go all the way round to ‘Lara Beach’ famous for its turtles and wonderful beach. If it is unspoilt Cyprus you are looking for, this is a great area to visit. You may even venture into the nearby villages of Miliou, Droushia and Panagia or further on to Kathikas (with its vineyards and wineries),. Other fantastic scenery can be taken in at Cedar Valley and the Troodos mountain range where in Winter, you can even ski!

The Polis / Lysos area

Lysos is a traditional mountain village in Cyprus located only 14 km from the seaside town Polis Chrysochous, 15km from Latchi with its beaches and water sports and a 45 km drive from Paphos.

This picturesque mountain village is famous for its efforts to maintain the beauty and the traditions of Cyprus. At just under 500 metres above sea level the summers are a few degrees cooler than the fierce summer temperatures in the coastal towns.

In various locations around Lysos there are many remarkable landmark churches such as the church of Ayios Georgios built in the 13th century where frescoes of Saint Mama can be found and is still protected by the antiquities department. Churches such as Panayia Chryselousa constructed at the end of the 15th century with Byzantine and Gothic elements, Profitis Elias, Ayios Constantinos, Ayios Charalambos and the country church of Archangel Michael provide for a unique perspective of the village history.

Lysos is home to a very good traditional Cypriot taverna, with neighbouring shops and the more widely known Paradisos Hills Hotel (50m away from Mountain Breeze Villa). Paradisos Hills Hotel is a small intimate hotel with only 15 rooms and a restaurant (open for breakfast, lunch and dinner) which serves only the finest Traditional Cypriot and International Cuisine. Most of the food is locally sourced and much of it is organic and the Sunday buffet lunches are now known Island wide. Paradisos Hills Hotel also have international evenings where guests and regular customers can experience something different and test the full range of its gastronomic skills.

"Perfect. Beautiful villa, spotlessly clean, a perfect home from home. A little more remote from a local shop than we thought, but this didn’t worry us as we were looking for somewhere away from the crowds*. The Paradisos Hills Hotel is a god send, wonderful food, and great friendly staff. Perfect if you arrive late and want something to eat and drink. Very satisfiedwith your service, from the moment of booking, we felt we were kept informed and valued as a customer. The “how to get to the villa” instructions were perfect, we didn’t get lost once!! Nitsa and John were perfect hosts, welcoming when we arrived but not intrusive. We always felt they were just a phone call away and were more than happy to help with any questions we had.'' *Note*- There is a small shop open daily in Lysos and the supermarket in Peristerona has been refurbished and taken on by new owners. We still recommend larger supermarkets in Polis for larger shops and stocking up.

"When I arrived at the Property There was a warm and friendly greeting awaiting us and to have somebody show you around was very helpful, added to this was small touches such as a bowl of fruit and some welcoming items such as milk and bread. "We could not have asked for a better villa and holiday. The villa was furnished to a very high standrad to give all home comforts within an authentic setting. having the culinary delights of the hotel just across the road was perfect. We explored the west side of the island inclusing Polis, Lathci, The Akamas and Paphos easily and would love to return again one day."

"Well another wonderful holiday, the villa was fantastic, Holly loved the pool, we couldn’t keep her out of it!!
Nitsa and her family were lovely they couldn’t have done anymore to help us, I was even supplied with nappies instead of buying more when we nearly ran out and they even gave us fresh grapes from their land!
I would highly recommend this villa and we hope to be back next year, I will also add that the food and hospitality at the Paradisos Hills Hotel across the road was a real treat, well worth a visit.
