About the home

This first floor apartment is located just 5 minutes walk from Polis town centre, where there are restaurants, cafes, supermarkets, banks, post office, and other shops in the town.

The apartment is tastefully decorated with high quality contemporary furnishings, has a fully equipped kitchen, is fully air-conditioned with private parking is included. The bedroom is fitted with built in wardrobes and all bed linen and towels are provided. The lounge has a three seater settee/sofa bed with coffee table, TV and DVD with a selection of DVDs, balcony with table and chairs.

Polis Beach is only a 10min walk, or take just a short drive to the nearby Latchi Beach & Harbour, where you will find shops, an abundance of renowned fish restaurants and even a children's park on the beach. Latchi also has a 5 star padi centre, or simply try some snorkeling in the warm water of the med. The unspoilt Akamas with it's abundance of flora and fauna is on your doorstep and Pomos with it's small fishing harbour is only 15 minutes drive away.

The Paphos region

Polis is situated in the western most point of Cyprus bordered by the Akamas peninsular national park and the Troodos Mountains. This corner of Cyprus is the least developed part, where the wilderness of the Akamas and authentic Cypriot hospitality lends an air of calm and tranquility.

The main town of Polis and the quaint fishing harbour of Lachi look across the turquoise seas of Chrysochu bay to the nature conservation area complete with hiking and cycle trails, fabulous sunsets and stunning safe unspoilt beaches. The approach roads to the area are surrounded by citrus and olive groves, vineyards, banana plantations, forest glades and sleepy monasteries. The famous baths of Aphrodite (the Greek goddess of love) are in close proximity.

In the centre of Polis is the town square, where fantastic restaurants line the cobbled old town. They dish up delicious seafood plucked straight from the nearby harbour at Latchi as well plates of sticky, delicious barbecued meats. Polis has many traditional tavernas, and open-air coffee shops crowd the charming town square. The square is lively in the evening, creating an ambiance of traditional hospitality and relaxation.
There are lot's of things to do, you can spend your morning on the beach, the afternoon in the pine forests of Cedar Valley in the Troodos Mountains, then the evening relaxing in the local bar's or restaurants.

Polis is a very slow paced place and is a must for those of you looking for a holiday to unwind.
And it's the people that truly make this island special as they are unique in their sincere, heart-warming hospitality.

The Polis area

The property is located a very short distance from the local amenities where there are small supermarkets, banks, post office, butcher, bakers plenty of tavernas and restaurants, where English is widely spoken.

Polis Chrysochous is probably the most beautiful town in Cyprus. Situated in the centre of Chrysochou Bay, in the Northwest of the Paphos region. Polis is a small town with great character, gaining a reputation as a place you should not miss during your holiday stay in Cyprus.

A 45 minutes drive from Paphos town and a 55 minute drive from Paphos International Airport will lead you to the entrance of town. Once in Polis take a stroll around the streets of the town and browse through the various shops or relax in one of the local taverns or cafes in the pedestrianised streets and square and get accustomed to the relaxed lifestyle Polis town offers.

Alternatively, explore the nature of the Akamas Peninsular via it's nature trails and cycle routes or enjoy the thrills of water sports in nearby Latchi. As an area Polis is beautiful by day and by night, for whatever you want to do, from lazing about on the beach or to go off road on 2-seater buggies, Polis has it for you.

Latchi Marina is about 8km from the property, here there is a variety of eating places where you must try the fish that has been caught that day and brought into the harbour. Or, sit in one of the harbourside restaurants/tavernas and just people watch. If you are feeling energetic try some of the water sports or take a trip on one of the glass bottom boats out along the Akamas Peninsula and see nature at its best, well worth the time and effort. Take your swimming costume though as the boat moors in a wonderful cove to allow you to swim or snorkel and take refreshments, normally provided.

Polis is close to where Aphrodite is believed to have met her beloved Adonis. Further along the coast visit the Baths of Aphrodite where it is believed she came to bathe, a quiet and tranquil place to visit.

For those who enjoy the game of golf the closest course is Tsada Golf Club established in 1994, the first course designed by Donald Steel. Par 72 - 6,855 yards and is only about a 30 minute drive away.

For those who want to go further afield within an hours drive you will find the Secret Valley Golf Club (Par 72 - 6,737 yards) a championship course surrounded by stunning rock formations and mature trees. Nearby is the Aphrodite Hills Golf Club (Par 71 - 6,855 yards) designed by Cabell Robinson another fine example of a championship course built on two plateaux which has spectacular views of the sea.
