Home description

A traditional style, two-bedroom bunglow style villa approximately 500m from the sea, on the outskirts of the village of Argaka with access from via a private Palm Tree lined private road.

The villa is very private and not overlooked. The pleasant garden has lawned areas, various flowers and a selection of young fruit trees. From the main door you look south to the hills whereas the front veranda faces north, with breathtaking views of the sea.

The property is very well maintained by the owners who are keen gardeners. The beach is within short walking distance. A truly excellent villa.

The Paphos District

This south-west corner of Cyprus has an ambience all of its own: soft breezes, old stone, elusive enchantment and an air of antiquity. This is the kingdom of Aphrodite, the goddess of love, and her presence seems to linger. Paphos itself is really two towns, each with its own character; Ktima on the cliff and Kato Paphos by the sea, two kilometres down the road. The one is unchanged over centuries and thoroughly Cypriot while the other has expanded over the last decade from a sleepy fishing village and harbour into a bustling, busy, sprawling cosmopolitan resort which is still growing.

Roman Paphos was the island's capital, and the 3rd century mosaics here are the finest in the Mediterranean. The atmosphere is funloving and friendly, with plenty of bars, pubs, discos, a few nightclubs and innumerable eating places providing anything from choice Italian cuisine to sizzling souvlaki off the spit.

Swimming in the bay's deep, clear waters is good. The coastline to the north is peppered with small sandy coves but the area's best beach is a 15 minute drive away at Coral Bay. Paphos is an ideal centre from which to explore this region of wild coastline, unspoilt hillside villages and natural beauty; yet it takes less than an hour by car to reach Limassol.

Paphos combines both culture and entertainment in a conveniently sized package. In Paphos you will find some of Cyprus' most stunning archaealogical gems such as its Roman mosaics and Tomb of the Kings situated amongst beach-front resort hotels and golden beaches. Cultivated bananas grow in profusion along the south-western litoral, yet the Akamas Peninsula is one of the island's last unspoilt wildernesses and is home to flora and fauna species found only on Cyprus. Small beach resorts that have not yet succumbed entirely to commercialisation await discerning travellers and there are abundant land and sea based activities to suit every taste. While Limassol is brash and Larnaka is demure, Paphos is quite friendly and is one of Cyprus' most desirable cities. Kato Paphos (Lower Paphos) is the port annex of Pano Paphos (Upper Paphos) and is home to the greatest number of archaeological sites in the area. It provides a lively and friendly ambience in it's renovated port area where visitors, unlike elsewhere in Cyprus' ports, can actually swim.

With its palm tree lined boulevards, tasteful public and private buildings, Paphos is a pleasant place to spend a holiday. There are ample restaurants and watering holes and if you tire of the beach annex you can always retire to Pano Paphos for an afternoon's stroll or evening meal.

Polis / Argaka area

Argaka is a peaceful traditionally Cypriot village on the west coast of Paphos where you will find many citrus orchards and quiet beaches. A handful of tavernas dotted along the Argaka coastal road are within 2 kilometres of the villa, whilst the pretty town of Polis with it's good selection of shops, restaurants, bars, banks etc is within a few minutes drive. A few minutes further on from Polis will bring you to the fishing harbour.

Guestbook for Argaka Villa 339

Taylor - 12/09/2007 - A great holiday - great villa, 5 star service! I would not hesitate to recommend Palm Grove 1 to friends and family. We are already considering going back next year and have only been back for a week. The only thing I would say is that you definitely need to hire a car unless you want to do a lot of walking. Andreas and Maria were great hosts and the villa had everything you could ask for and more.

Hunter - 15/08/2007 - What can I say that hasn't already been said. 'Palm Grove 1' has been the perfect base for us, just a short drive to all required amenities yet totally private and tranquil. Thank you very much for all your assistance. We are all very keen to return to Cyprus for a holiday, and 'Palm Grove 1' will be our first choice when we do. Thank you.

Ridgeway - 11/07/2007 - It is beautiful and Andreas and Maria are genuine generous people. We also did very little apart from lazing by the beautiful pool. We hope someday to return to this bit of Paradise . Thank you.

Hamer - 31/08/2006 - Excellent service from RCV and Mr Andreas. Villa in great position and enjoyed the privacy.

Davis - 20/07/2006 - We had a wonderful time. The whole experience has been great. The villa was exactly what we were hoping for and exactly as described , beautiful, secluded and private. It was very clean and we were impressed with Andreas the owner. Thank you for making it so enjoyable, we will definitely book through you again and to the same property.
