Villa | 4 bedrooms | sleeps 8
Astéri is a unique and special place and is not overlooked in any way. Situated in on a quiet road snaking up towards an ancient monestry and the mountains of the Pafos forest, it enjoys total privacy and seclusion but without isolation. Throw open the patio doors on your first morning and you will find the intoxicating aroma of Jasmin and the magnificent 180 degree views over the mountains, little villages and citrus groves down to the sea quite overwhelming. Astéri offers wonderful and spacious outdoor living with a large shaded entertainments area with massive sofas & a 50" flat screen for evening movies, a 10m private pool with bartable, and large outdoor dining area within a huge wooden pergola with a stone BBQ and outdoor kitchen alongside - all with truely magnificent views down to the sea. Within the Villa are 4 double bedrooms, three are en suite, the fourth has a seperate family bathroom alongside with a large corner spa bath. The large living/dining area is well furnished with a working fireplace for the cooler months, plus a 50" tv with local satalite channels and some english movie channels, plus DVD player, and there is free wifi. Although totally private, it's just a minute hop down to Steni village with its lovely cafe, and just a further five minute or so drive to the old atmospheric town of Polis with its cobbled square and shops and supermarkets. Alongside Polis is the magnificent new marina of Latsi, with its contemporary waterfront bars and restaurants overlooking the expensive yachts - and just beyond is the stunning Akamas Peninsular and famous Blue Lagoon. Astéri is the perfect place for Honeymoons or couples & families requiring peace and serenity with views and sunsets that really will take your breath away. Full 24/7 assistance is available from our British management company from the moment guests touch down in Cyprus.

The Paphos region
Paphos, a city rich in history, is a gem of Western Cyprus. The city's existence traces back to the Neolithic period, claim archaeologists. Believed to be the birthplace of Greek Goddess of love and beauty, Aphrodite, Paphos proudly boasts the remains of villas, palaces, fortresses and tombs that belong to Classical, Hellenistic and Roman periods. Paphos, roughly divided into Old Paphos and New Paphos, is also famous for its sun-kissed beaches and was a major port and the capital of Cyprus during Roman times. Later when the British colonized the island, the city started losing its value especially after Nicosia gained importance. Today, this small harbour is an attractive tourist destination.
Steni is a village in the Paphos District of Cyprus, located approx 200m above sea level 6 km southeast of Polis Chrysochous. There is the most fantastic Museum of Daily Cypriot Life, which has to have one of the best displays of any museum. A river used to run through the village and olive mills used to line the river. The village still has a relaxed atmosphere and it's people are friendly and welcoming. It also has the coolest coffee shop in Cyprus, "Nyrlomylos", which is one of the old mills, where the locals sit under a shady tree sipping coffee and you can buy a cool beer or traditional iced frappe coffee and enjoy the best desserts handmade by Dawn.
There is a small local store 5 minutes drive from Astéri and there is also a taverna in the village. Orange, lemon, mango and cherry trees line the winding roads and locals wearing traditional Cypriot dress, dry and tend to their crop of olives in their gardens.
This is not a place for partying nightlife but if you want a quiet, relaxing holiday in a secluded villa in a wonderful little village close to wonderful beaches, this will be perfect for you.
About two miles from the village lie the ruins of the rich and important Monastery of Chrysolakhourna. The original thirteenth-century church consists of a central nave and two side aisles ending in a semicircular apse. In the sixteenth century, owing to an earthquake, the church was much remodelled. All the paintings which remain are of the period of the rebuilding, save a figure of St. John the Baptist in the west end. Near Steni are the Turkish hamlets of St. Isidoros (note: Ayios Isidhoros, Paphos) and Myrimikoph; each still contains the ruined mediaeval church dating from before the time of the Turkish conquest."

"A luxury secluded villa with fantastic panoramic views"
Within easy travelling from Pathos airport. Very clean and tidy and well maintained. Pool cleaning service twice a week and very spacious exterior grounds. Made full use of the outside BBQ and seating area, whilst watching the beautiful sunsets. Good sized pool with plenty of sun loungers and other outdoor furniture. Within easy walking distance of local tavernas, serving traditional Greek food and local shops and amenities are a short drive away.
If you are looking for a totally relaxing holiday in a villa that is not overlooked, with stunning views, then this is definitely one to go for. The whole experience from the moment we booked to the day we left was faultless. Would definitely come back again.
