The Paphos District
The villa is placed between the Akamas peninsula to the west , the Troodos mountains to the east and close to the beach at Latchi and the town of Polis. Drive west along the coast from Latchi towards the Akamas and you quickly arrive at Aphrodite`s Bath which is the starting point for two brilliant hikes.
It is a longer drive into the forested Troodos mountains which has a pristine monastery and a little further on the ski lifts used for a short time most winters!
The area is fantastic for activities.
The best crag on the island for rock climbing (Gerakopetra) is 2 kilometres from the villa
Pawel hires out trail bikes and can pick you up at the end of the day by arrangement (The ridge down to the sea, then along the coast to the beach for a swim then a beer is a favourite of mine).
Horse riding can be an hour at a time or day (or multi-day) treks around the Akamas or into the Troodos.
Scuba diving , jet ski-ing and boat hire are all available at Latchi.

"What a lovely villa"
We had a week at Villa Petra in May 2012 and had a lovely time . The villa is large, in a great position in the mountains, and finished to a high standard. There is an excellent outdoor area with a good pool and views, and there is also a games room in the basement. It’s a 15 minute drive to the coast and the towns of Latchi and Polis where there are lots of bars and places to eat, along with a lovely beach. If you like to go sight seeing then there is plenty for you to do in the area, or simply chill in the sun on the beach or by the pool. We re looking forward to a return visit.

This was easily the best equipped villa I have ever stayed in - and I've stayed in a lot! The local manager, Pawel, was there to meet us on arrival and show us round the property and to give us a wealth of information and advice about the local area. The property is located in a wonderfully peaceful area, just far enough outside the village to be quiet but close enough to wander up to the local tavernas. The many stairs and the pool may make is less suitable for people with young children or the less mobile but it was perfect for our small group of friends. The games room was a nice touch. It was immaculately clean, very comfortably furnished and the views from the rooms and terrace a perfect backdrop to meals and pre-dinner drinks. I'd have no qualms about recommending it. "Fantastic modern villa situated in a beautiful, picturesque part of Western Cyprus."
My family and I (wife and 2 children aged 10 and 7) had a fantatsic time at Villa Petra. The villa was spotless upon arrival and it was really useful to have a contact to meet and greet us when we arrived. I cannot speak highly enough of the villa itself. It was immaculate, and extremely well equipped. It was ideal for al fresco dining with the use of the barbeque and the vast array of outdoor furniture. The balcony outside the master bedroom provided a great place to have a drink and take in the view of the nearby coast and mountains. The pool was excellent, we spent alot of time in it with our children and the games room including table tennis and tabble football was great fun. There were plenty of leaflets, guide books etc to help us decide on our activities whilst in Cyprus, this was much appreciated. The air conditioning was extremely effective and essential in August. The Villa is situated in an ideal location. Just 500 metres from Droussia village centre which had a couple of taverns and small shops. With the villa being slightly higher up in the hills we found that the breeze refreshing whilst the temperature was high. Polis just about 10km down the road provided an excellent supermarket where you can fantastic fresh produce at really low prices. There is also a lovely beach just next to the campsite in Polis with a nice beach bar. We had a hire car and travelled about as much as we could, some lovely places to visit:- Petra Tou Romiou (Aphrodites rock) Pomos Harbour - Fish restaurants overlook the harbour with the mountains as a backdrop. Coral bay - beautiful sandy beach Kathikas village Lara Bay (this is fairly inaccessible unless you have a jeep, we got close to it but the track got to bumpy for the hire car to take) Outskirts of Pafos for some great Taverns and Cypriot kebab restaurants. Agios Georgious - Beautiful church overlooking a small harbour, great for snorkelling. All in all we had a fantastic experience and will definately be coming back next year with friends to make the most of the 4 bedrooms. I will be hiring a 4 wheel drive next time as some of the best beaches are around the Akamas peninsula which is unaccessible in a normal car. I would recomend this to any family who likes to be have their own space away from the masses but close enough to lots of fantastic places from villages, towns to beaches and mountains. Perfect!!
