The Paphos District
April to June perfect climate for walking/cycling and relaxing by the pool or on the beach .
August and September are the months for experiencing the local village festivals, sharing food and drink on long trestle tables with the locals, watching and listening to traditional dancing and music.
Recommended to try Daytime or Sunset Cruises along the Akamas Peninsula, with or without food, but watching the crew cook from BBQs hanging from the back of the Koulla is not to be missed! Swimming from the boats before returning to a very relaxed and informal atmosphere, great for meeting new friends or you can have the boat for yourselves for parties of 10 or more.
Quad bike hire not to be passed by either, even for the over 50s! Excellent way to explore off road and see the Akamas and the views beyond in a very special way. Stop off for lunch en route or take your own packed lunch to one of the secluded bays, followed by a very welcome dinner at one of the tavernas back at base.
Walking (and Cycling) Groups, great for meeting new people who either live here or just on holiday like yourselves. Early morning or evening for hotter months, day time during cooler months.
Paphos is located in the South-West corner of the island and the birthplace of the Aphrodite, the goddess of Love. Its well known for its Natural Beauty and rich history since the ancient times. Polis is in the north part of the Paphos region, about 35 km from Paphos town (approx. 40 minutes drive). This area is considered by many people as one of the most beautiful and well preserved parts of the island, unspoiled, blessed with amazing Natural beauty, great beaches and breathtaking scenery combining the mountains and the sea. Polis town offers all the services you need to have a pleasant holiday, including a variety of shops, supermarkets, bakeries, pharmacies, hospital, bars, restaurants and more. From the apartment you can easily walk to all the amenities and the Polis picturesque centre, approx 500 meters away, 5 minutes walking.

The Polis Beach is an organized beach with a lifeguard on duty, sun beds, umbrellas, showers, restrooms, bar/restaurant facilities, etc. This is a unique beach naturally shaded from the massive Eucalyptus trees.
All along the coastline of Polis Bay there are also numerous other beaches for swimming and sunbathing – Latchi Beach, La Plage, Argaka Beach, Anassa Beach, Takkas Beach, and Baths of Aphrodite Beach. Most of these are organized beaches, with blue flagged crystal clear waters. There are also many secluded beaches for those preferring a more private swimming.
Polis and Latchi offer a wide range of shops, restaurants, local taverns, cafes, lounge bars, Irish pubs and more. Baths of Aphrodite and the Botanical Gardens are a must for all visitors. All along the Latchi Beach there are several bars and restaurants right on the waves.

There are numerous nature paths for walking, hiking, and cycling. Also from Polis you can take a Jeep-Safari tour to explore the peninsula and enjoy the views. Great spot for walkers, photographers, nature lovers and those that love all kinds of outdoor activities and beautiful scenery.
