Polignano a Mare
Polignano a Mare is an Italian town in the province of Bari, in Puglia. At the center of the two main Apulian airport hubs, Polignano enjoys a strategic location makes it easily accessible by all major transport links.
Polignano offers a typical Mediterranean climate with mild, rainy winters and summers are usually hot, long and sunny.
The oldest part of the town stands on a rocky outcrop overlooking the Adriatic Sea.
Of natural interest are its caves and historically important are the historical center and the remains of Roman domination. Among the latter, the bridge of the Via Traiana, still viable, through Lama Monachile. Since 2008, Polignano a Mare has always received the Blue Flag award given by the Foundation for Environmental Education to the coastal resorts that meet European quality criteria related to parameters of bathing water and the service provided in relation to parameters such as the cleaning of beaches and the marinas.
With an economy based mainly on agriculture and fishing, Polignano recently had several awards for tourism, earning the attention of many international tourists and famous directors who see Polignano as the ideal setting for their cinematographic creations.
