A beautiful and stylish three storey reverse level town house on the West Hoe in Plymouth with views across the rooftops to Plymouth Sound and out to sea. The house has been finished to a high standard throughout with the latest in design and style. For any younger guests, a cot and high chair can be provided on request. The centre of Plymouth, Plymouth Hoe and The Barbican are all a short walk away. The Theatre Royal is also close by.
Close by, The Hoe is an historic scenic viewpoint where you can enjoy the amazing views across the Bay or visit Smeatons Tower & Plymouth Dome where you'll find many interesting activities.
The Barbican is also within walking distance where you can meander the cobbled streets with individual specialty shops, craft work shops and art galleries. Many local artists have won global reputations, including Beryl Cook, Lee Woods, Brian Pollard and the late Robert Lenkiewicz. There are also many interesting old pubs and cafes to visit.
If you fancy a dip then the Art Deco Tinside Lido is close by, and the beaches of Bigbury and Whitsand Bay are just a short drive away. Why not catch the Cremyl ferry across to Mount Edgcumbe Park and discover the hidden Cornish villages of Cawsand and Kingsand with their quaint old streets and family beaches?
Plymouth is a vibrant waterside city, benefiting from major investment with plenty to entertain everyone from arts and crafts, to stylish cafes, bars and restaurants, quaint tea rooms and traditional fish and chips. High end shops and unique boutiques are found within both the main city shopping area and the recently completed Drake Circus shopping mall.
Plymouth Pavilions is the South West’s largest entertainment, concert and leisure venue and holds many events throughout the year including comedians, orchestras, rock and pop groups and sporting events to name a few, there is also an ice rink and swimming pool with wave machine, Jacuzzi and flumes.
There is also a wealth of heritage and history to explore - stand where Sir Francis Drake played bowls as the Spanish Armada approached, enjoy a tour at the historic Plymouth Gin distillery, or maybe visit the National Marine Aquarium - now the largest aquarium in Great Britain with the deepest tank in Europe.

The West Country / Devon region
Devon is known for its unspoilt coastline, its natural landscape, and of course its cream teas and other local specialities. It has lots to offer including historical attractions like the homes of Sir Francis Drake and Agatha Christie, or for natural history fans you can take a trip down to the Jurassic Coast. There are also festivals galore, including sheep racing, and activities such as go-kart racing and assault courses at the various adventure centres.
Great for walking, relaxing, and exploring one of England's most unspoilt regions.
Plymouth / West Hoe area
Plymouth is a City steeped in a vast and rich history, and has been shaped by the events of the past. It has been the home to Colonial Adventurers, is the place where the Pilgrim Fathers departed from, and due to its naval heritage, was a primary target for bombers during the Second World War.
In the 1086 Doomsday book, the area was recorded as “sudtone” (south farm), and over the years the farmland evolved into a fishing port around Sutton Harbour.
The area was officially granted town status in 1254 and trade flourished.
Since then Plymouth has grown into a cosmopolitian city where an extrodinary blend of modern city chic meets with this historic seafaring port. There are several places of interest including The Hoe, The Mayflower Steps and The Barbican. You can also expect to find all the modern attractions of a thriving city including great shopping, fine restaurants, excellent theatres and a vibrant night life.
Although there are no beaches in Plymouth, there are many spectacular beaches within a short drive of the City. Here is a selection of the best beaches within the area: Looe – East, Seaton (Near Looe), North Sands (Salcombe) and South Sands (Salcombe). Alternatively, if you do fancy a dip without leaving Plymouth, why not visit the historic Tinside Lido. Since undergoing a £3.4million refurbishment in 2003, the open air seawater pool has been restored to its former glory. It is built in stunning Art Deco style and is situated on the Hoe. The pool is open during summer months.
In September South Devon hosts a walking festival with a wide variety of activities taking place. For more information on the festival please see http://www.southdevonwalkingfestival.co.uk/.
