73 Brewhouse, Plymouth
Apartment | 2 bedrooms | sleeps 4
73 Brewhouse, is a stylish, duplex apartment, situated in the prestigious Royal William Yard development. The property offers high-spec, modern fixtures and fittings within a historic development with many period features.
Within the development there is a cafe/bar serving breakfast and meals right through until the late evening, an Italian restaurant and a bakery, serving handmade bread, pies, cheese cake and hearty home cooked meals. The Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall's River Cottage Deli and Canteen is now open providing delicious food made from local products.
The new Stairway To Devon is now open. A new staircase will enable Coast Path walkers to get through the defensive wall at Devil's Point into the Yard, creating a connection all the way around the Stonehouse peninsula. Not only does it enable Coast Path walkers to enjoy the stunning views, it makes the most of Plymouth's two outstanding natural and historical assets, increasing the enjoyment and value of the attraction to visitors and the community.
The Barbican is close by where you can meander the cobbled streets with individual specialty shops, craft work shops and art galleries. Many local artists have won global reputations, including Beryl Cook, Lee Woods, Brian Pollard and the late Robert Lenkiewicz. There are also many interesting old pubs and cafes to visit.
If you fancy a dip then the Art Deco Tinside Lido is close by, and the beaches of Bigbury and Whitsand Bay are just a short drive away. Why not catch the Cremyl ferry across to Mount Edgcumbe Park and discover the hidden Cornish villages of Cawsand and Kingsand with their quaint old streets and family beaches?
Plymouth is a vibrant waterside city, benefiting from major investment with plenty to entertain everyone from arts and crafts, to stylish cafes, bars and restaurants, quaint tea rooms and traditional fish and chips. High end shops and unique boutiques are found within both the main city shopping area and the recently completed Drake Circus shopping mall.
There is also a wealth of heritage and history to explore - stand where Sir Francis Drake played bowls as the Spanish Armada approached, enjoy a tour at the historic Plymouth Gin distillery, or maybe visit the National Marine Aquarium - now the largest aquarium in Great Britain with the deepest tank in Europe.

The West Country region
The warm climate and award-winning beaches enjoyed by South Devon have kept it a fashionable holiday resort for many generations. Torquay, Paignton and Brixham make up Torbay, one of the most popular areas for holidays in South Devon, and the area also includes the coastal towns of Dawlish, Teignmouth and Starcross. South Devon holiday cottages position their guests in some of the country's prettiest locations for a break with a continental feel. South Devon hosts dozens of festivals and regattas throughout the whole year. One of the world's oldest shipwrecks was found off South Devon's coast. Pete Goss built his Team Phillips catamaran in Totnes.
With beautiful stretches of coastline and a fascinating maritime history steeped in Naval tradition, Plymouth is a wonderful place to enjoy your holiday. A cosmopolitan mix of big-city attractions and facilities and stunning seaside views and rolling countryside beyond, Plymouth boasts a number of fine attractions, including the famous National Marine Aquarium. Sat between Devon and Cornwall, Plymouth is an ideal base to explore the West Country, with good transport links around the two counties.
With a host of great culinary options and a host of activities to be enjoyed, from golf to canoeing, surfing and even wreck diving on an artificial reef, there is certainly plenty to see and do during your stay. From beautiful local beaches and secluded coves, to a night at the theatre, or a day spent exploring the rich history of this part of the world, Plymouth is packed with many options during your stay.
