Duirinish Holiday Lodges
About the home
Welcome to Duirinish Holiday Lodges. We are 9 log cabins offering excellent self catering facilities for up to four or six people in each lodge. Fully heated with well equipped kitchens & bathrooms you will find they make a perfect base for exploring the west coast of Scotland with its wealth of mountains, islands, coastlines and wildlife. There are indoor and outdoor play areas for children and each lodge has its own TV, DVD player, CD player and radio. The site is accessed by a private road over a small bridge. Bordered on 2 sides by a small river and with woodland to the rear we attract Roe Deer, Pine Martens and many species of birds. With good parking facilities and garden areas and your own garden seating and barbecue you can feel confident that your holiday will be relaxed and peaceful. Wifi available in all Lodges.
In addition, if you don't feel like cooking the local village of Plockton (1.5 miles away) provides excellent restaurants and bars with traditional music nights as well as boat hire, seal watching trips and marina facilities.
Duirinish Holiday Lodges provide you with the freedom to relax and do nothing or to make the most of the local attractions. A place you will want to come back to again and again.
We are open from early March to early November.

Further details indoors:
There are two styles of lodges. Our Canadian Style Lodges are solid log in the tradition of a frontier style Log Cabin and our Scandinavian Chalet Style have a light airy feel with high ceilings and light walls.
All the Lodges are fully carpeted, heated and equipped for the number of people they are designed for. The kitchens and bathroom are all recently re-fitted. The lodges are warm and cosy even in the coldest weather (the owner lives in one on site all year round.) We have the following choices of accommodation:
1. Scalpay is a Canadian Style Lodge with one double bedroom with en-suite bathroom and one twin bedroom with en-suite shower room. Scalpay sleeps up to 4 people.
2. Eigg and Rhum are Scandinavian Style Lodges with a light and airy feel. They each have 2 bedrooms (one double and one twin) and one bathroom. The bathroom has a bath with a shower over it. Each lodge sleeps up to 4 people. Crowlin Lodge has the same facilities but is Canadian Style and is our most 'returned to' lodge.
3. Rona Lodge has recently been extensively extended and refurbished. It has one double room with en-suite shower room and 2 twin bedded rooms with shared bath/shower room. This is our largest lodge and offers great accommodation for up to 6 guests.
4. We have 4 Lodges with 3 bedrooms (one double, one twin and one with adult size bunkbeds) and one bathroom. The bathroom has a bath with a shower over it. Each lodge sleeps up to 6 people and they are all Canadian Style. Their names are Pabay, Raasay, Longay and Skye.
Cots and High Chairs are available.
We welcome dogs by prior arrangement
There is an additional communal lodge on site that contains laundry and drying facilities, a communal freezer, a pay phone, children's pool table and games and DVDs available for hire.
Further details outdoors:
The Lodges are set in grassed areas great for children to safely play around and surrounded by trees. Very quiet and peaceful. Each Lodge has its own parking area, garden seating and BBQ.
There is also an outside play area with slide, swings and play house.
Further details
Dogs are welcome by prior arrangement at a charge of £10 per dog per week or short break. Dogs must be kept on a lead when on site and should never be left alone in the lodge.

Enquire nowThe Scottish Highlands region
The Highlands of Scotland are well known for their breathtaking scenery, beautiful coastline and ruined castles. Although all the modern amenities are now available this area of Britain still lives on a slower pace of life and is perfect for 'chilling out'. In winter you can drive on many rural roads for half an hour without seeing another car. There are many boat trips out to the islands or to watch the local wildlife, and if you like walking or climbing then this is the place for you!
The Plockton area
The village of Plockton is washed with the warm waters of the Gulf Stream resulting in the distinctive palm trees that grow in the waterfront gardens of the village. The village itself is a mile and a half from the Lodges and has a number of excellent restaurants and pubs to relax in. You can also hire canoes and small boats and Plockton is the starting point for Calums Seal Trips - from which you will see seals and often otters, porpoises and dolphins. There is weekly traditional music in the Plockton Inn which attracts many local musicians and is usually a very good night!
We are only 4 miles from the Isle of Skye bridge crossing, or if you want a more romantic introduction to the island you can use the tiny 4 car ferry at the end of the beautiful drive over the Mam Ratagan pass down to Glenelg. If mountain passes are your thing we have the Bealach Na Ba pass over to the village of Applecross. This is the highest road in Britain and not for the faint hearted! On a clear day the views from the top are spectacular - and the food in the Applecross Inn is well worth the drive!
We have lots of information in each lodge on walks, places to go fishing, local beaches etc and Sue (the owner) can help you with any other information that you need.
Come and stay with us - you will love it!
