The Dalmatia region
Dubrovnik is the most well known destination of the Dalmatian Riviera with its famous medieval walled town, but there are many other beautiful and interesting places within easy reach by boat or bus.
Lokrum island, a UNESCO protected site, which houses the ruins of a former monastery and fort, plus a restaurant and plenty of secluded beaches, is a fifteen minute boat ride away from the Old Town harbour.
Cavtat, a picturesque village, set around a harbour, is about 50 minutes boat ride from the old harbour or 20 minute bus drive. It has lots of harbour side cafes, rocky and pebble beaches, and pleasant, waterside walks.
Elafiti islands are really a perfect getaway from city crowds. The most popular islands are Kolocep, Lopud and Šipan and are also the only inhabited islands. Daily departure from the old harbour or from Gruž harbour.
Mljet Island is famous for its natural beauty and the west part is a National park. The park is definitely worth a trip. Daily departure from Gruž harbour.
Peljesac Peninsula is well known for its wines. The whole peninsula is covered with dense evergreen and Mediterranean vegetation. On your way, do not miss to stop at Ston, famous for its shellfish restaurants -the best in the region- which offer oysters as a speciality.
We will be happy to provide you with all useful information to make your stay a relaxing and enjoyable one!

"Beautiful apartment in a fantastic location"
We are a family of 4 who spent a wonderful week in Dubrovnik. The apartment is very well equipped and comfortable in a perfect location overlooking the old town of Dubrovnik. Our stay there was further enhanced by the fireworks over the bay for which we had a perfect viewing platform. The owners of the apartment are charming and helpful providing assistance when required. Thanks for a lovely holiday.
Thank you Christine, we are all glad you had a nice stay with us in Dubrovnik! Take care and all the best to you and your family! Kind regards, Family Sabljić

"Fabulous family holiday home with stunning views over the bay and Old Dubrovnik"
This beautifully appointed holiday house, just a short remove from the attractive walled citadel city of Dubrovnik, is above the owners' own home. It still gave us peaceful and private accommodation, whilst the attentiveness and courtesy of the owners was a bonus and not the least bit intrusive. They were very welcoming and friendly yet allowed us to just get on and do our own thing - offering useful advice about the locality but never pushy. The accommodation itself was spotless and everything we needed was to hand and well kept. The balcony offered spectacular views - Dubrovnik and the bay at night is utterly captivating. The location was great: supermarket and grocery shops within a short stroll (Eg. for fresh breakfast bread), the beach 5-10 minutes away and Dubrovnik itself a pleasant 15-20 minutes stroll downhill: the terrain is indeed very hilly but it was an inadvertent bonus to end a wonderful family holiday even fitter than we arrived! This was one of the better family holidays we have had - for parents, teens and pre-teens this area offered a good mix of sea/beach based entertainment and adult stimulation in the city and the area around likewise. Eating out was easy, cheap and pleasurable, whether in Dubrovnik or one of the towns or villages around - and food was generally of a good standard. Both this accommodation and the area itself could not be too highly recommended for families and groups of friends. However, for those with mobility difficulties, wheelchairs or children in prams/pushchairs, you should be aware that the area is very hilly and Dubrovik Old City itself is a warren of steep stair streets with no facility for access other than pedestrian.
Hi Ann, We are so glad you enjoyed your stay with us and in Dubrovnik in general. Thank you for the kind words and you are always welcome to come back as our guests any time. Take care! Kind regards, Family Sabljić

"A very comfortable apartment with wonderful views"
We would happily have stayed for much longer than the week we booked in this top floor apartment with amazing views of the roofs of old Dubrovnik, the sea and the island of Lokrum. Everything was spotless and beautifully maintained and we were provided with such an abundance of clean towels, extra pillows, tea towels and soap, shower gel, etc that we could have been in a luxury hotel. This was one of the easiest and most comfortable experiences we have had in our many years of renting properties abroad. The 90+ steps up to the apartment from the road provided us with plenty of exercise, although this would clearly not suit anyone with limited mobility, but then Dubrovnik itself is full of steps, which form part of its charm. Only 10-15 minutes walk from the old town and harbour and less from the beach but in a quiet, residential area with easy road access, this apartment is ideally situated for visiting all the major cultural sites and activities and good restaurants, and is close to a bus stop for trips further afield. Dubrovnik is a beautiful place well worth an extended stay and has much to offer apart from warm, sunny weather and excellent food. Finally, our hosts the Sabljic family deserve a special mention for their kindness and hospitality, which in our case extended not only to an invitation for drinks one evening but also to an unscheduled trip to the airport when our taxi failed to arrive. We were made to feel very welcome and would not hesitate to recommend a stay there. We hope to return before too long.
Hi Pamela, I am so glad you had a nice time staying in our apartment and in Dubrovnik. It was our pleasure having you as our guests and you are more then welcome to come again in future. Thank you very much for your kind words! Best regards, Mirko Sabljić
