Home description
The gite is reached down a private driveway and is flanked by fields on two sides. It is completely self-contained and has it's own patio and garden area although it forms part of the main property of the resident owners. The interior is light and airy with a spacious open plan living room. The situation near the tip of the peninsula means the sea is within a few hundred metres on both sides and there is a delightful coastal path circuit around the peninsula. Tranquility is assured.
The village has a boulangerie, a bar, and a mini supermarket as well as small resaurants. Pors Rand a popular bathing beach and the famous Sillon de Talbert are close by.
Surrounded by coastal and country walks the area is ideal for both family holidays and for those who enjoy walking, cycling, fishing, birdwatching, boating or simply relaxing with a good book.

The Brittany / Cotes-D'Armor region
Northwest Brittany is an area of exceptional natural beauty. The small coastal towns, villages and ports are many and varied, they provide endless opportunities for exploring. Most have a colourful weekly market which are great for shopping. Naturally there are lots of resaurants of every type where you are served good food at very reasonable cost.
There are many super places to visit within easy reach such as the Island of Brehat, Roche Jagu Chateau with its spectacular site and medieval gardens, the fabulous garden at Kerdalo and the island birdlife sanctuary of the Sept Iles only a boat trip away from Perros Guirec or Ploumanac h.
Pleubian / L'Amor area
L' Armor Pleubian is the site of the Sillon de Talbert, unique in europe, a shingle spit that stretches three kilometres into the sea. We have the ruins of an ancient semaphore tower at Creac h Maout with amazing views in all directions. The village itself has a several fetes during the season and within the presqu'isle, neighbouring communes have similar traditional festivals. There is always something happening nearby and the local people are warm and friendly and will make you feel welcome.
The historic small towns of Paimpol and Treguier are both only 25 minutes away by car. Each has a large lively market every week and in July and August there is entertainment too! Paimpol holds a Sea Shanty Festival biennially, next one in 2009, but there are always square rigged sailing boats in the harbour and opportunities to sail in them. The ancient Beauport Abbey is also well worth a visit and why not take the steam train along the banks of the river Trieux to the pretty village of Pontrieux. Treguier is quite different, the town centre is set high above the port on the river Jaudy and has a beautiful cathedral dominating the main square.
How to get there
We are approximately 2 hours drive on excellent roads from the ferry ports of both St Malo and Roscoff. Brittany Ferries have regular services to both ports Condor Ferries run from Portsmouth to St Malo. Ryan Air fly to Dinard which is the airport for the St Malo area.
