The home is ideally suited for two families sharing the 10 sleeper accommodation. All beds are extra length single beds that can be configured as kingsize double beds ( limited to three of these though). The living area comprises a large open plan lounge, dining room and kitchen with a separate scullery off the kitchen. A private solar heated swimming pool is located in the back courtyard while the wonderful Solar Beach with the Robberg Peninsula as the backdrop a mere 160 meter walk along a board walk away.
There is secure parking for two motor cars in a double automated lock-up garage that leads directly into the home.

Solar heated swimming pool, patio and outdoor hot and cold shower facilities. Outdoor boma or fire place with permanent seating surround. Patio furniture seating 10 persons around an oval table on the back patio with seating for six persons on each of the front balcony and back balcony. Some beach chairs and an umbrella are provided. The walk to the beach is an easy stroll along a 160 meter boardwalk.
Although the view of the sea is interrupted by two homes whales have been observed from the balcony of the Sondel Beach house.
Rental varies depending on the season. In peak season the rental is ZAR 7 857 per night for a minimum of 21 nights (negotiable). In the low off season the rental is R 2 715 per night for a minimum of 7 nights (negotiable). A 50 % non-refundable deposit secures the booking with the balance of 50% together with a breakage or damage deposit of ZAR 8 000 is payable two week prior to arrival. The breakage deposit is repaid within 30 days in the event that no damage or breakages of a material nature - at the discretion of the owner - have occurred.
Strictly no smoking anywhere in the home and no pets of any descriptions are permitted.
A non-refundable deposit equal to 50% of the total booking fee is payable in order to secure the home.
The Western Cape region
The Western Cape is renowned for its wine farms in the Stellenbosch area providing a very wide variety of wines. Stellenbosch is some 55 kms from Cape Town central. It is also an area that has some 9 000 different wild plants and flowers most of which are endemic to the area. Table Mountain alone has 4 000 of these. Situated 550km from Cape Town and 230km from Port Elizabeth, Plettenberg Bay was originally called 'Bahia Formosa' or Beautiful Bay by the Portuguese explorers. The drive from Cape Town takes approximately 5-6 hrs along the N2 highway. Alternatively one can take a day or two to meander through the exquisite Little Karoo, which has a beauty of its own, travelling along good quality dirt roads to Oudtshoorn and then on to Plettenberg Bay.
The Plettenberg Bay area
Plettenberg Bay offers an opportunity for a relaxing beach holiday. Having said that there are two golf courses within 10 kms of the home - Plettenberg Bay Golf Course and Goose Valley with another two some 35 kms away in the Knysna surrounds. Three of these courses are rated amongst the top 20 golf courses in the country. Whale watching off boats is a favourite past time with the launching site a mere 8 kms from the home. Then of course there are the canopy adventures in the famous Tsitsikama Forests the Storms River Gorge and river mouth some 40 kms from Plettenberg Bay. The scenic Knysna forests and Knysna laggoon are within a 30 kms reach. Oudtshoorn and its renowned Cango Caves and old ostrich farms is an easy 170 kms day's drive there and back. The Garden Route – Plettenberg Bay is in the centre of the Garden Route which, as its name suggests is a picturesque stretch of coastline which starts in George and Herolds Bay to the west through the Wilderness, Sedgefield, Knysna and then heading east from Plettenberg Bay, Natures Valley, a beautiful little holiday village on the coast, Storms River and beyond.
How to get there

Get to either Cape Town international airport or Johannesburg international airport. From there fly to either George airport or to Port Elizabeth airport (although Plettenberg Bay is a five hour drive from Cape Town and an option). From George airport take the N2 north-eastwards towards Port Elizabeth, driving through the Wilderness and Knysna to Plettenberg Bay some 95 kms from the George Airport. If arrival is at the Port Elizabeth airport then drive along the N2 southwestwards towards Knysna and George.
Plettenberg Bay is approximately 240 kms or 2 1/2 hours drive from Port Elizabeth.
Once in Plettenberg Bay get to the circle in downtown main street. From there make your way down the hill towards the Beacon Island circle in the Piesang Valley. Get into Longships Drive heading south towards Whale Rock Housing estate - follow the signs to the Southern Cross Beach house. Turn left into Griz Nez and go over a four way stop street. Turn left up a short steep hill - Capricorn Drive and turn right at the first opportunity. The Sondel Beach House is at the end of that block on the right hand side.
