The Brittany region
The region is famous for its beautiful sandy beaches and rocky coves very similar to Cornwall.
The cote de Granite Rose is a must as its so beautiful and not far just 25 minutes by car from the cottage.
Costal paths in this region are well maintained and allow you to walk round to the next bay without using the car, each beach slightly different from the next.
Crepes served with local cider in teacups are a specialty and a abundance of fresh seafood is to be found in most restaurants.
Bretton dancing in traditional costum is seen at local fetes. The tourist offices will have a list of local events.
Morlaix is known for its wonderful viaduct and saturday market and architecture as well as Lannion with its cobbled streets.
St Efflam's beach is known for its horse racing, the beach being so flat that its lends itself to it, the chariot race being the most popular with locals.
Plestin les Greves
Beautiful sandy bays with pretty pine tree backdrops, and rock pools for catching crabs within very easy reach, the first is two and a half miles away and linked by coastal paths.
The Corniche is 10 minutes away by car and has 3 little sandy bays.

The beach at St Michel's end of the bay is used for wind surfing and kite surfing and is spectacular to watch.
All the beaches are linked by coastal paths and well maintained.

"After one day you totally switch off"
When we arrived and opened the shutters it was like the cottage was waiting for us. It took only a day to unwind and let the place suck you in to the quiet pace of life here.
The cottage had everything we needed, the furniture is simple but in keeping. The upstairs bathroom is small and takes a bit of getting used to but the views from the bedrooms more than compensate. We soon got the hang of the wood burning stove which was great for chilly evenings when we couldn't eat outside.
For children there were loads of toys and games.
There are so many beautiful beaches a short drive away, loads of cliff paths for walking that we came home feeling very fit and healthy. Do not miss a nightly walk up the Grand Rocher prior to dinner and a visit to the Sunday morning market in Plestin Le Greve.
thank you for your kind review.
