Berceau des Roses
from £36 /night help
Cottage | 4 bedrooms | sleeps 8
Berceau des roses is a detached cottage that is located in the picturesque hamlet of Le Vaublanc in the Cotes D'Armor region of Brittany. It has four bedrooms and is ideal for two small families that like to holiday together.
On the ground floor is the kitchen, dining and living room area. This is all open plan and ideal for socializing whether you are relaxing with a glass of wine and talking or maybe preparing a meal. The log burner is nice to use if the nights are a bit cooler.
On the next floor is two double bedrooms each with its own built in wardrobe and are light and airy. On this floor is the family bathroom which has a shower and large bath, and a separate WC.
On the top floor there is the 'snug' which opens up straight from the stairs. This has a day bed which can sleep two people and also has the large TV and satellite box for those who don't like to miss their favourite TV programmes. This leads into the twin room where two more people can sleep and contains books and games.
There is a private garden across the small lane which also houses a drive large enough for two cars.
This cottage is ideal for a base for people who like to travel around Brittany to see the sights. There is fishing nearby and a permit is easily obtained from the Marie in Plemet. In Le Vaublanc itself is the Château which is very picturesque and is steeped in history, as it has been a working mill from the middle of the 17th century when it started as a paper mill but has changed through the years and has since been a site of industry forging iron from charcoal. In 1955 it ceased to process anything and all that remains are the pretty buildings around the hamlet that all contributed to the industry.
Beaches start from around half an hour away if you travel north and are a little further if you go to the south coast of Brittany but this extra effort can be worth it if you love the white sandy beach and turquoise sea type of holiday.
Tranquil and beautiful. This part of Brittany is a haven. Shooting stars and glow worms are more likely to be what you get. Not night clubs or traffic.
Bed linen and towels are not currently included in the price but can be arranged at the cost of:
Double bed - £25 (includes two bath towels)
Single bed - £18 (includes one bath towel)
You can take your own linen if you prefer and bed will need a double sheet with King size duvet cover. Kitchen towels are provided.

The Brittany region
Cotes D'Armor is the north western region of Brittany and has many places to visit. Many visitors to the region do so because of the beautiful landscapes. a visit to the rose granite coast and the emerald coast is a must. There are many towns in the region that are steeped in history and Petite Cite de Charateres are dotted around such as Moncontour and Le Jugon les Lacs. Castles and beaches is what i think of within the region and it boasts beautiful examples of both. Dinan
The local area is mainly involved in farming. This means many open fields and beautiful countryside. Loudeac forest is near to the cottage and is ideal for walkers and cyclists. Plemet and Plessala are the nearest towns and have choices of supermarkets, banks, markets, restaurants, parks, lakes and places of interest to keep you entertained. St Breiuc is the 'capital' of Brittany and is about 40 minutes drive from the cottage. There are large shopping centres, beaches and other interesting things to do here and some of the building date back to the 13th and 14th Centuries.

We would like to ensure that our guests have a wonderful time and so have already planned to install a washing machine and dishwasher. Dear visitor, Thank you for choosing Berceau des Roses and glad you liked it enough to return this year. When we stay we also love the peace and quiet that it offers but love the beach too (although we also wish it were closer). Still, often the trip is worth it and our favourite beaches are Pleneuf Val Andre and Sable d'Or les Pins. Thanks for your custom and hope you enjoy your stay with us again this year.
