About the home

The Iguazu apartment block is just 3 minutes from the Yumbo Centre. Our flat is at the back of Iguazu overlooking a large area of bungalows with the sea in the background. It is amazingly quiet with no traffic or street noise.

The complex has two swimming pools and two tennis courts and, on the ground floor, a number of good restaurants and a 24 hour clinic.

The main beach of Playa del Ingles is about ten minutes away and the entry to the dunes through the RIU Palace about the same. Buses stop outside the flats and take you all over the island.

The complex is not used by tour operators. Most of the flats are one bedroom and noisy groups are very unusual.

Smokers are welcome but we ask you to use our pleasant balcony

The bathroom has a walk in shower, toilet and bidet. The dining chairs are patio chairs which double very comfortably for extra lounge seating.

The complex has two large swimming pools with plenty of sunbeds and two tennis courts with a professional coach available if needed. There is a large communal lounge. On the ground floor there is the Iguazu Clinic, one of the largest private clinics in Playa del Ingles.

The Gran Canaria region

1000 kilometres south of mainland Europe this part of Spain has sun all year. The South of the island is basically a desert, though now well watered to provide lush and exotic surroundings to complement guaranteed sun. The resort has grown from nothing forty years ago to now providing anything a holidaymaker could want.

It is developed around a number of 'centres' one of the largest being the Yumbo almost next door to our flat. But don't neglect the rest of the island. The north is much lusher and with the interior rising to 6,000 feet in an island only 50 kilometres wide there are fabulous days out to be had sightseeing, walking,trekking, biking etc.

Then Las Palmas is Spain's seventh largest city with great shopping, restaurants museums, a cathedral and concert halls and theatre.
Buses from outside the building take you all over the island so it is easy to get to Las Palmas. The Airport, Vecindario ( shopping, especially in the Atlantico centre) Puerto Mogan or Puerto Rico. days out to the Waterpark, Palmitos Park and Sioux City are very easy too.

The Playa Del Ingles area

Playa del Ingles boasts a lively evening and night time scene with lots of English, Irish and Scandinavian bars and restaurants. There are even a lot of Spanish ones! There is a casino in San Agustin and a more sophisticated scene in Meloneras where one of the Hotels was voted number 2 in the world. You can't fail to enjoy an evening anywhere within a few minutes of the flat.

During the day there is the beach, and what a beach. A three kilometre peninsula backed by dunes that reach 50 metres. There are quiet areas a little back from the sea and lots of beach beds arranged at intervals along the beach. One short stretch is an official nudist beach.

The Palacio de Congressos in Maspalomas hosts a number of events during the year which spill over into the life of the town, e.g fashion shows. The Carnival (usually February) is one of the largest and most colourful in the world and in May there is a Gay Pride event which is spectacular with shows and parades.

“Lovely apartment” Apartment was lovely. All facilities are provided for, iron, ironing board & hairdryer! TV, DVD Player & satellite box too. Received the keys in the post a few weeks before our trip.

“5 stars, 10 out of 10, if I wanted to live in GC, I would want to live here.” Fantastic apartment. Air Con, Flatscreen SatelliteTV. Apartment is spotless, and well maintained. Everything you think you need is there, beach towels, cushions for poolside, the list goes on. Choice of 2 swimming pools and 2 tennis courts. The location is great, 5 minute walk to Yumbo Shopping Centre, 20 minute walk to the beach, if you don't want to walk taxi's are cheap. Bus service stop right outside the apartment. Booking inquiry response was immediate, and the actual booking was simple and straight forward. "It did exactly what it said on the tin". 10 out of 10. Location, location, location, brilliant.

“Fantastic Apartment a true home from home” The booking process is really easy and we received the keys well before the start of the holiday and the details provided by the owner explained everything we wanted. The apartment is very clean and the facilities were great, fantastic shower, very comfortable beds and clean fresh sheets with big fluffy pillows a great change from the 2mm ones you usually get in a hotel. Everything you could think was in in the apartment all kitchen equipment was there and I could not think of anything that was missing to prepare evening meals. The TV is large and there are a few DVDs there, we brought some of our own. The balcony with 2 comfortable chairs are great for having breakfast in the sun and it was shaded in the evening to have a late supper. The Yumbo center is just around the corner and free WiFi is available in all the bars it is right out of the apartment entrance and then turn right at the end of the road next to the traffic light and it is on the opp side of the road, numerous shops and bars and stalls. All in all this is a fantastic apartment and you should have no doubt/concerns in renting it, it is as described but you will be very surprised when you get there and very pleased you chose it. We will hopefully be back this year and definitely next year if available.

“Excellent value. Highly recommended.” The Iguazu apartment complex is, in my opinion, one of the most attractive along the Avenida de Tirajana. The two pool areas are immaculately kept. Surrounded by lawns, palm trees, cactus and beautiful hibiscus plants. There are several good restaurants and a private clinic situated on the ground floor of the central apartment block. Tennis courts to the rear. There is a Spar supermarket directly across the road. Just one of many close by. Restaurants, bars and pavement cafes abound in the immediate vicinity and the famous Yumbo centre with it's shops, bars, restaurants and colourful nightlife is just around the corner. Having stayed in Playa del Ingles, in various accommodation, many times, I found this particular apartment to be of a comparatively high standard with excellent facilities. Automatic washing machine, iron, ironing board, hairdryer, safe, hob, fridge with ice box, microwave oven, kettle, toaster, TV, DVD (with a USB port), fans to keep the air circulating, plus the added luxury of air-conditioning in both the lounge and bedroom. Very unusual, in my experience, and a selling point in itself. Many a restful nights sleep was enjoyed. The apartment is clean, tastefully decorated and furnished, with a comfortable sofa in the lounge area and out on the balcony, a glass-topped table and two comfy padded chairs. Views over the tennis court and neighbouring bungalows. Distant sea views to the right and mountains to the left. The small bathroom has a walk in shower, vanity unit, toilet and bidet. Clear instructions are provided for operating all the electrical equipment. Very good communication with the owner. It seems he has thought of everything. Even down to providing beach towels and padded sun-lounger cushions for use around the pool! I would highly recommend this apartment. Excellent value for money.
