Home description

This ground floor apartment (Jollies) is in a superb location on the sea front and is walking distance to all the bars, restaurants, clubs & shops in this busy resort. Being a complex of just 8 apartments, situated in such a sought after location and offered at a very fair rental has resulted in the apartment being very very popular. 2009 is already incredibly busy & we're taking 2010 bookings. Avoid disappointment, reserve your dates NOW with a booking deposit.

Jollies sleeps up to four people (**see the next paragraph for restrictions) and has one bedroom (King size bed & fitted wardrobes), a lounge in bedsit style (2 single beds, throws, cushions etc), new kitchen (with fridge freezer) and a wonderful new bathroom (wet room) with large walk in shower to assist our less able guests. The property is on one level and has two small steps from the terrace to the pool and gardens.

** RESTRICTIONS The maximum occupancy is 4 persons for couples and 4 persons for families but 2 persons for singles. We don't let to under 21's holidaying without parents. (Really sorry but we have experienced problems with 4 singles and groups of teenagers - so the minority have spoiled it for the majority!)

We have a washing machine and a safe for guests use. Use of both is without charge.

The rental price includes bedlinen and towels but not pool towels.

We DO NOT CHARGE for pre-arrival or departure cleaning but do not provide free cleaning/linen changes during your stay. Our Cleaning Policy:- Linen changes and cleaning will be optional for stays of 7 nights or less. Linen changes (25 euro's, payable locally) are obligatory once a week for each week beyond the first, this includes all bed linen, bathroom towels & kitchen towels. Cleaning is optional and can be arranged with our property manager if required.
With the exception of Christmas/New Year our rental is the same all year at £330 per week. It is the same whether there are two of you or four. During the Christmas period it is £440 pw. The refundable damage deposit is £50.

Book with just a £100 deposit.

Sorry but we don't let our properties to groups of teenagers holidaying without family. Smokers are welcome to smoke on the terrace.

Our property managers are English.

We can put you in touch with an English couple who offer airport pick-up and return (35 euro's each way) as well as Island tours and excursions.

A car isn't necessary in the resort. Cabs, if required, are inexpensive. There's a cab rank and a bus terminal withiin 200 yards of the apartment. Here you can get a bus to Las Palmas, the waterpark, the parrot park etc etc.

We have a wheelchair available to rent, if required, at a charge of £35pw.

The Gran Canaria region

An Overview of the Island:- Gran Canaria is one of the last European paradise isles. A continent in miniature it offers lush forests, exotic fauna and flora, Sahara like dunes, mountains, volcanic craters, sometimes snow on the highest peaks, the most dynamic capital city in the Canaries, incredibly beautiful coastlines and spectacular beaches. Flying time from the UK is just over 4 hours.

Gran Canaria has a lot to offer the tourist. The south is the most popular containing such delights as Puerto de Mogán (a picturesque village also known as Little Venice), Puerto Rico, Maspalomas and the famous Playa del Ingles. But with its spectacular views and landscapes, make sure you don't miss the rugged west coast and island's interior.

Weather and Climate:- The Canaries enjoy a worldwide fame, gained because of its mild climate, one of the best in the whole world. Gran Canaria’s weather is mild, with pleasant temperatures, rarely too high and almost always constant. The winter climate in the Canaries is much much better than the mediterranean. Playa Del Ingles area

The resort of Playa Del Ingles is one of Europe's largest resorts, 2nd only in size to Benidorm in Mainland Spain. All amenities are easily accessible. If you want a holiday with easy access to everything then this is it! Playa del Ingles offers plenty of choice of nightclubs, restaurants and bars. The famous sand dunes of Masapalomas are just a 5 to 10 minute walk along the promenade from our sea front apartment. There is a quieter beach 5 minutes in the opposite direction.

Young or old, this location has something for everyone. Car hire certainly isn't necessary unless you want to tour the island. There are many companies offering excursions in the resort. Indeed, our own house managers offer Island tours - take in the stunning mountain views and visit the small villages hidden away from the resort.

Nightlife:- Playa del Ingles is packed with bars, pubs and clubs, especially in the Kasbah. The English and Irish centres are also lively and entertaining. There are quieter bars along the promenade and a casino on the edge of town.

There are many many attractions from fantastic water parks to the parrot park. Grab a bargain from the stalls in the Kasbah or go upmarket at one of the many shopping centres on the island. Or, of course, spend time chilling with a good book whilst soaking up the sun at the side of our beautiful pool!!


How to get there

There are lots of flights to Gran Canaria's Las Palmas airport from England, Scotland, Wales, Ireland and Europe. You can get flights almost every day of the week but the main days of the week for flights from the UK are Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays - Mondays offering the most choice of flights. Our website offers links to flight companies. You can access our website using the link on the right at the bottom of this page.

Our English house managers offer airport pick-ups for 35 euro's. They will collect you, drive you to the apartment, take you in, give you the keys and will answer any questions you may have about the property.

Car hire really isn't necessary. If you want to tour the island there are many companies in the resort offering excursions. Our own house managers offer Island Tours and excursions with a more personal touch, i.e. you won't be with a coach load of people.

The apartment has one double bedroom (King size bed) and a lounge in bedsit style with 2 single beds, throws and cushions.

The wetroom is new and is a good size. It has a large walk in shower, WC and hand basin. It is tiled floor to ceiling. There is an orthopaedic shower chair available at no extra cost.

A new kitchen was put in during 08 and has an oven, hob, microwave & fridge freezer. There are all the pots, pans, crockery and glassware that you will need.

We have two large ceiling fans - but they've never been needed yet. Believe it or not, because of the design of the building the apartment stays very pleasantly cool. In the height of summer it rarely exceeds 22 deg C indoors.

There is a breakfast bar but given the almost guaranteed year round weather in the Canaries how about eating at our table on the terrace overlooking the pool and within earshot of the waves lapping at the shore.

Further details outdoors:
We have a terrace and a communal pool set in matured gardens. The pool is shared with only 7 apartments. It's a very good size and is maintained to a high standard. The apartment terrace is just 3 or 4 yards from the pool!! The garden is well maintained too.

The promenade runs at the front of the property but the pool & gardens are hidden behind a thick hibiscus hedge & palms ensuring privacy. Just beyond the garden hedge is the beautiful sweeping bay of Playa del Ingles and views to the sand dunes of Masapalomas.

The apartment, gardens & pool are within a secure gated area.

Couples, children, families and groups are welcome but we don't let to groups of under 21's holidaying without family.

Disabled are welcome, We have a wheelchair available to hire. The bedroom & lounge are spacious making wheelchair access easy. The bathroom door is the only door too narrow for the chair, so please take this into consideration. Access from the pavement to the building is level and our doorstep is small. Access to the pool can be gained by going around the corner of the apartment via the garden to the pool, i.e. there is no need to go via the terrace where you need to be able to cope with two steps. Our wetroom is a good size and we have an orthopaedic shower chair. The pool has a set of steps with double hand rails perfect for the less agile.

We accept payment by cheque but prefer on-line payment (via our website) by debit or credit card. On request we are happy to accept payment in Euro's from our European guests. The booking deposit is £100. The balance becomes payable no later than 8 weeks before your holiday.

There is a refundable damage deposit to pay with your rental balance of £50. This is returned to you when you get home (assuming no adamage). It is a condition of booking that you have travel insurance to cover cancellations, injury, theft etc etc.

Once a payment has been made your dates are secure. A booking form is then sent to you and an Invoice showing the amount paid and the outstanding balance (due 8 weeks before your holiday). Our availability chart, both in this advert and on our website is always accurate. I can also accept phone calls evenings or weekends (but not during office hours I'm afraid - though you can text me at all times).

Our rental rate is £330pw for all dates except Christmas/New Year when it is £440pw. We do not operate a change over day. Guests can choose which day of the week they arrive and depart. The minimum booking is 7 nights. Above 1 week bookings do not need to be complete weeks, i.e. they can be 8 days, 17 days - whatever you want. The apartment is available for rental 365 days a year. I am disabled and we had no problem with the wheelchair. Sitting on the terrace with the pool right in front of you is a delight. We love Playa del Ingles and have always stayed in hotels on a package deal, but never again. "Jollies! has converted us! It's near all the restaurants, bars - in fact, near to everything! The apartment is lovely - bright, modern, clean and well equipped with everything you could possibly need for your stay, including a washing machine!
