Home description
An unusual split level design, the entrance lobby leads passed the principal toilet /shower room into a kitchen/dining/lounge area with patio doors opening to the spectacular views from the East facing terrace. You can enjoy a nice cup of tea from six am onwards, always warm enough for tea shirts and shorts or swimwear. Relax in the evening with a refreshingly cool G&T as the sun goes down over the mountain behind you.
Up the spiral staircase you will find the mezzanine lounge area again with panoramic window views to the Caribbean sea. Watch local fishermen pulling in their catch of the day. This lounge gives to the main bedroom with double bed, built in closet, en suite shower and toilet, and airconditioning.
From the lounge a small staircase takes you up to the second bedroom in the attic. This time the view is to the west over the mountains of Guarame and Guayamuri. Two single beds will be found here. The lounge area can accommodate two on blow up matresses if required, please request at time of booking.

The Isla Margarita region
Isla Margarita (Margarita Island), Venezuela is a mountainous tropical Caribbean island paradise, located off the north coast of Venezuela.
Margarita belongs to the archipelago of islands forming the Minor Antilles and is located about 23 km north east of the mainland and about 12 km degrees north of the equator, beyond the path of storms and hurricanes, so is far away from this kind of danger. The gentle breeze constantly blowing across the island makes you unaware of the heat of the sun. The island extends to about 934 sq km. stretching from east to west about 62 km, and at it widest reaching 32 km. The narrow isthmus joining the eastern and western sides of Margarita is the National Park of La Restinga where one can enjoy boat tours through the mangroves and see sea-horses as well as various rare species of birds and other sea creatures.
Margarita offers more than sunbathing, a string of developed beaches and shopping, despite its status as a duty-free zone and its recent boom as Venezuela’s most popular Caribbean holiday destination. It is home to fine National Parks, picturesque fishing villages and long stretches of isolated white sand beaches, some only accessible by foot. The eastern side, especially the bay of Juan Griego where our projects are situated is famous for amazingly romantic sunsets.
In 1498 Christopher Columbus discovered the Margarita Island and the people he named Guaiqueries received the conquering Spaniards with open arms, unaware that later they would become slaves of their own wealth.
In 1814 with its people’s brave fight for independence, Margarita became the first free territory in Venezuela, and it was in this island that Simon Bolivar ( called The Libertador) was confirmed as commander- in chief of the new republic.
Margarita offers and endless selection of restaurants to satisfy every taste and budget. As well as its many typical local dishes and tropical fruits, there is and amazing variety of fish seafood. The waters around the island supply local fishermen with a daily load of fresh lobsters, crayfish, shrimps, octopus, tuna fish and red snapper.
The tropical fruits and local juices include coconut, mango, melon, papaya, passion fruit and the typical cocada made with coconut water and fruit (with a generous shot of rum the islanders convert this flavourful cocktail into a “coco loco”!). The most popular beer in Venezuela, polar, is good and comparatively cheap. And Venezuelan coffee is one of the best in the world.
