About the home

Sleeps 6. 3 bedroom villa with private heated swimming pool. Large balconies with table and chairs off the upstairs bedrooms looking over the pool, and unspoilt views to the mountains and sea. Landscaped gardens, private parking, English TV Channels .

Playa Blanca also has a good selection of cafes, bars and restaurants providing for most tastes. The El Paseo promenade has some fine restaurants including La Casa Roja, where you can enjoy your dinner beside the moonlit bay.

Walking distance to shops,marina rubicon,bars restaurants, Playa Blanca is a small, though still growing, development.

Its shops provide visitors with holiday essentials including gifts and souvenirs. The promenade, El Paseo, at Sport Marina Rubicon has some very smart shops and boutiques. There is also a craft market there on Wednesdays and Saturdays bars, etc.

The Lanzarote region

Beaches are all accessible on foot but the nearest is Dorada beach which is 1000m away. There is a nice waterfront walk from the Marina to Dorada which is suitable by buggy or wheelchair. The famous Papagayo beaches are best accessed by car but can be walked.

There are 6 beaches and all are lovely yellow sand. If you are a naturist then this is where you might like to visit. There are a number of beaches, what we call 'locals beaches' which take a little more searching. Nearest 400m.As with the other Canary Islands, Lanzarote is Volcanic in origin. Due to the recent eruptions during the 18th and 19th Centuries, many parts of Lanzarote appear to be from another world, often described as 'lunar' or 'Martian', so much so that parts of 'Planet of the Apes' were shot here.

The dry climate (and lack of erosion) means that the Volcanic Landscape appears much as it did just after the eruptions. Amongst the many stunning Volcanic features of Lanzarote is the longest Volcanic Tunnel in the world, the Atlantida Tunnel, which is over 7 km long.

MegaFun is an excursion that will take your around Lanzarote on a Quad Bike. This excursion is not for the faint of heart, you are quickly taken around some of the most stunning parts of the Island on road but 80% off road. Through out the excursion you will be able to stop for a drink and to take pictures of the Island.

Sports Fishing in Lanzarote adds a whole new meaning to fishing. With a large number of Blue Marling, Tuna and even some sharks this excursion is not for the faint of heart. All boats are fully equipped with the very latest satellite GPS sonar and fish finders making finding the fish a little easier. Many of the excursions leave from the Old Town Harbor (Puerto Del Carmen) and others from Puerto Calero.

The Playa Blanca / Las Coloradas area

The marina is ideal for people who like to scuba, sail and enjoy life on the water. There are kayaks for the kids. If you like ten pin bowling there is a bowling alley and for the golfers there is a pitch and put course and crazy golf for the kids and bouncy castles. On Dorada beach there are banana boats and pedalos. Within 1500m of 100 restaurants and bars, many shops, 5 supermarkets, 2 local markets numerous banks, Doctors (Nr Dorada Beach), water sports, Pitch and Putt. 2 Yellow beaches (9 in 3000m).

Lanzarote is relatively small and from Playa Blanca to the top of the island takes about an hour. There are great Markets and once you have done the Market in the Marina Rubicon then try Teguise Market.

There is of course Fire Mountain and some great places of interest such as the Cesar Mariguee museum and cactus garden. There are great places to eat on the Island and you might like to try fish in El Golfo, Quamada or Famara all are great. If you like to surf then try Famara beach.

Lanzarote airport is named Arrecife, the flight usually takes around 3.5 hours from the U.K.
Villas Camelot is approximately 30 minutes drive from the airport.

There are many car hire companies located at the airport, you can book directly on their websites, details of a few car hire companies are Cabrera Medina (www.cabreramedina.com), Direct Car (www.directcar.es) Auto reisen (www.autoreisen.es) or alternatively you can have my dad collect you and bring you to the villa.

Direct flights are available from the main flight operators such as Xcel airlines, British Airways, Thomson, First choice, Thomas Cook. The main flight day for Lanzarote is Thursday but there are also flights operate on various other days, it is best to check with your airport of departure.

The Villa was lovely and clean when we arrived, with a welcome pack too, which was great. It had all the comforts of home and more, very spacious and well appointed. Having the 3 bathrooms was fantastic because of our 3 teenagers!!!! The wow factor of our hols was having our very own heated, private pool. Just being able to go in it anytime!!! It was in a super location and the bus stop was at the end of our road. It cost 5 euros 75cents for all 5 of us to go into the town which was brill and they were very reliable and clean. A well stocked shop across the road, fresh bread every day. Good selaction of food for everyone and not expensive. A lovely quiet location and within a few mins walk you were at the sea front. The marina was breath taking especially at night a, good 10mins walk. One of the beaches was about 10mins walk, but there are others further away. We all had a fantastic time. We would certainly recommend it to family and friends. From Julie

HI there was 5 of us 3 adults 2 children we had one of the most fantastic hoildays we have ever had the villa was great and all that you good wish for it was like home from home we went in may 2010 .there is a bus stop at the end of the street that take you into town for 1euro and 12cent and the taxi rank is near by to witch is 3 euro to town and you can have some nice walks to all in all a great villa and a great place from DERRICK AND JEAN and family ,sheffield.
