About the home

Casa Strutt provides a relaxing holiday, it is located just two minutes walk to the sea promanade which has stunning views of Fueterventura and is walking distance to the famous Papagayo beaches. Quiet and peaceful, yet only a ten minute walk to the Marina Rubicon which has a twice weekly market in a lovely atmosphere, the marina has many excellent restaurants and many designer shops. The Villa is also walking distance to Playa Blanca, there is also a local bus service with bus links to other towns on the island, the bus stop is a 2 minute walk from the villa, there is a bus every 30 minutes, there are also local supermarkets within a few minutes walk, a car is not essential when renting this villa.

The villa benefits from its own private heated pool, entered via roman steps, the pool is also illuminated at night via a pool light.

The villa has two double bedrooms (one with King Size bed, the other a double bed) and one twin bedroom, the villa is ideal for families and couples, with plenty in the surrounding area to see and do during your stay.

Facilities

The villa is tastefully and fully equipped with modern furniture, providing a relaxing atmosphere and a great holiday for both families and couples. All rooms have ceiling fans to keep you cool on those hot days and nights.
There is a flat screen TV with basic Sky package and DVD player. There is an excellent sound system, the TV can also be played via the sound system to provide the very best sound quality.
There is a wide selection of interior games including Monopoly, Scrabble, Junior Scrabble, Pictionary, Cards, Dominos, Draughts and other games, there is also a selection of books (including information on Lanzarote tourist attractions and places to visit), CDs (including Children's entertainment) and DVDs available, something for everyone.
The Villa has a cot, high chair, stair gate and plastic baby eating utensils.
There is a large utility room (20ft x 8ft) to store beach equipment, bikes etc. Various items are stored in this room for guests to use, including two portable sun beds (saves money hiring beach beds!), beach umbrella stands that screw in to the sand (specially developed for use on sandy beaches) inflatables for the pool, bats and balls, mini table tennis for use on the outside dinning table etc.
The villa is fully alarmed and is directly connected to and monitored by a recognised security company. There is also an SOS facility via the alarm system to gain emergency access to the Police, Ambulance and Fire Services in English.

Further details outdoors:
The electrically (not solar powered, which can be temperamental) heated pool is south facing and has roman steps (most pools have upright metal steps) to enter the pool and is illuminated at night, providing the perfect atmosphere for alfresco dining and a relaxing drink or two.
There is a large dining table with six chairs, 4 luxury sun beds (there are also two portable sun beds), a coffe table, two large sun shades with stands and a selection of indoor and outdoor games, something for everyone.
There is a selection of inflatbles for use in the pool, ideal for floating in the pool and really chilling out in the sunshine.

The Lanzarote region

Lanzarote enjoys a mild dry climate with average daytime temperatures ranging from about 21°C in January to 29°C in August. Annual rainfall is just 140mm (5.5 inches). This makes Lanzarote the perfect year-round destination.

Amongst the many stunning Volcanic features of Lanzarote is the longest Volcanic Tunnel in the world, the Atlantida Tunnel, which is over 7 km long and includes the La Cueva de los Verdes and Jameos del Agua.

Despite the Volcanic nature of the island, Lanzarote has several beautiful white beaches such as at Playa Blanca and Papagayo, Casa Strutt is within walking distance of all these beaches.

Local authority regulations on the amount and style of development mean that there is no billboard advertising and no high rise buildings in Lanzarote.

There are many tourist attractions on the Island including;
-El Golfo, a circa 15 minute drive out of Playa Blanca. Good to visit, spectacular sea views and some good walks to see the green lake etc, there are some really good fish restaurants; worth a visit.

-Costa Calero a circa 15 minute drive out of Playa Blanca, this is a small yachting village, up market, good to visit, you can take a submarine trip from here or visit the sea life museum.

-Puerto Del Carmen is the nearest lively resort e.g. lots of clubs; Casinos etc and a long sandy beach, this is a circa 20 minute drive.

-Go for a Camel ride, a circa 15 minute drive out of Playa Blanca on the main road back towards the airport.

-The Timanaya mountains and the live (ish) volcano, a circa 15 minute drive out of Playa Blanca.

-The caverns of Jameos del Agua, an under ground lake.

-The Jardin de Cactus gardens at Gautiza, containing over 100,000 sun loving plant species.

-James del Agua - The Cesar Manrique Foundation (former home and now museum built in the volcanic rock),
this was Cesar Manrique’s home (the world famous artist) and is well worth a visit; it is built in to the volcanic rock and is truly unique.
It also has an entertainment complex built in to natural caves. The natural Auditorium has seating for 600 and is renowned for its excellent acoustics. There are regular shows put on here, which include Folklore Music (the traditional music of the Canary Islands), Audio-visual displays and a Disco on Tuesdays and Saturdays.
The underground salt water Lagoon, Jameo Chico, is host to a Species of Blind Albino Crab (Munidopsis Polimorpha) that are unique to this location.

-Miradores, spectacular views from a hidden mountain complex built by Cesar Manrique.

-The Cave of Los Verdes, the tunnel is over 6 km long with an additional 1.6 km under the sea and is the longest Volcanic Tunnel in the World (the underwater section has not been fully explored), although only about 2 km are open to the public. The cave measures more than 15 metres wide and 15 m high.

-The Museum of international contemporary art; the San Jose fortress in Arrecife.

-The Wine Museum of Lanzarote is located at the old cellars of the "El Grifo" winery, which were built over the volcanic lava left from the 18th century eruption. According to trust-worthy reports, they were built in the year 1775, making this the oldest winery in the Canaries. Since then, wine has been made here without interruption.

The Playa Blanca / San Marcial Rubicon area

The local Marina Rubicon, is a short walk from the villa and has lots to do, including market days Wednesday and Saturday mornings; designer shops; lots of restaurants & bars; boat hire; sailing club, scuba diving, boat trips; tennis courts; bowling; mini golf; pool tables etc..

Visit the Papagayo beaches; there are five to choose from (you can just see one on the left if you look out to sea from the sea front path near the house). You can walk to them or you can drive along a toll road, a circa 5 minute drive.

Playa Blanca is a 10 minute walk from the marina along the wonderful coastal path with fantastic views of Fueterventura, Playa Blanca has lovely sandy beaches, lots of bars, restaurants, shops, something for all the family.

There is a local bus service coonecting all the towns on the island, the nearest bus stop is a 2 minute walk from the villa, buses run every 30 minutes. Car and bike rental is available, just a 3 minute walk from the house.

There are two local supermarkets which can provide all your needs. Hiperdino which is just a 3 minute walk from the Villa and Ropers, an upmarket fresh food supermarket which is just a 5 minute walk from the Villa.

There is also a Taxi rank just a 3 minute walk from the house.

There are several 4 & 5 star hotels where you can wine and dine, all of which are walking distance from the house.

5) - Out of courtesy I send this message to say what a wonderful time we had at Casa Strutt, the weather was kind - the odd cloud along with copious amounts of blue sky, temps 27 - 31C ideal! Even the sea was still warm however, not as warm as your pool - that was a huge hit with our Daughter. We walked to most of the Papagayo beaches, which was great but we drove to the main one and stopped at the restaurant at the top - fantastic!
We managed the key and alarms, I think by the end of the week we managed to get the keys in the right sequence.!
We did hire a car for the week, to and from the airport with Auto Reisen very good rates and that don't sting you for extras!

We have just arrived home from our holiday. Thanks for you it was great! I can not find the words to say how we are grateful to you to have such a fabulous and relaxing holiday in Playa Blanca. The villa was great it had everything we could thought and even more. The kitchen was very well equipped and the supermarket nearby was a great deal. And the most fabulous place for our children was the heated pool. The location of the villa is great and we spent a lot of time on Papagayo Beaches as the weather was wonderful. We would definitely happy to have another relaxing holiday there some time and of course we will have no hesitation in recommending your marvelous villa.
