Villa Saskia is situated within the relatively new development of "Villas del Sur", a tranquil group of villas near to the Marina Rubicón complex, with its exceptional selection of upmarket waterfront restaurants, cafés, bars, shopping mall, designer shops, bowling alley and wide range of water sports and leisure activities.
The nearest well stocked local supermarket is only a two minute walk away from the villa and a little further; Playa Blanca's coastal promenade. The beaches at Playa Dorada and Papagayo, the Marina Rubicón and the old harbour area of Playa Blanca are all accessible from the coastal promenade. The El Pueblo shopping centre with its new supermarket, bars/cafés, gift shops and children's play area; only a few minutes walk away.
The villa has a south facing frontage, with a fully enclosed terrace overlooking its own private heated pool and benefits from being in the sun all day. Security and privacy are provided for with lava walls, teak and steel railings and gates. The terrace is partially covered, well stocked with plants and furnished with teak furniture and luxury cushions and offers shelter from the midday sun and the very occasional rain showers. The villa therefore offers ample space for enjoying the Lanzarote sun, alfresco dining or relaxing in the shade.
The property is on one level, open plan with a vaulted ceiling in the main living areas. The lounge area is tastefully furnished with leather sofas and comes complete with theatre sound system, flat screen television and for your entertainment, satellite television, a large selection of music and movies on disc, games and books.
The main amenities of Playa Blanca are all within walking distance of the villa. For those with reduced mobility or wishing to venture much further afield, there is a bus stop near the villa with a regular service along Playa Blanca's seafront and to the central bus station, where you can board buses leaving for the north of the island. There is also a taxi rank at the nearby local supermarket.

The villa has an open plan lounge / dining room and kitchen with vaulted ceiling, tastefully furnished with leather sofas, coffee table, large TV unit complete with SKY TV, 32" Samsung LCD TV, DVD/CD/radio theatre sound system. The dining area has a six place glass topped rattan dining table and chairs. The kitchen has a breakfast bar and is equipped with modern appliances and stocked with everything you need for cooking and dining.
The lounge area has French doors opening on to the main sun terrace that overlooks the pool and a second set of French doors to the inner courtyard. The master bedroom also has French doors leading onto the sun terrace and pool area.
All inner windows and doors in the lounge, dining room, kitchen and master bedroom are fitted with micro Venetian or Roman blinds. All bathroom and light fittings throughout the villa are of high quality, including the glass shower cubicle in the en suite and shower screen in the bathroom.
The master bedroom has a king size bed and each bedroom has an electric fan for use in extremely hot weather and a separate heater for those cooler evenings over the winter months. All bedrooms have fully fitted wardrobes with coat hangers.

The villa has a large partially covered terrace overlooking the private pool and is furnished with quality teak dining furniture (6 chairs and table) and four teak sun beds, all with luxury cushions. The terrace and pool area is stocked with plants and can be illuminated at night.
The inner courtyard is furnished with a Moroccan breakfast table and chairs for more secluded dining and is also equipped with a large charcoal barbecue, 'to allow the man of the house to practice his culinary skills'.
There is a Solana (utility area) off the Kitchen with washing machine and internal garden with clothes line for drying clothes.
We provide a small welcome pack containing basic items - 5 ltrs of water, 2 ltrs milk, tea, coffee, sugar and biscuits for your arrival.
All bed linen is provided for and the following towels will be available on your arrival and replaced along with bed linen after one week (5 days if on a 10 day holiday). Bath sheet (1), bath towels (2), hand towel (1) per person.
The villa will be managed during your stay by Julie Highfield our english speaking representative who will meet you on your arrival at the villa and will deal with any issues that may arise during your stay.
The Canary Islands region
The Island of Lanzarote is situated just 100km off the coast of Africa and is the most easterly of the Canary Islands and only 60km long and 20 km wide, making it the fourth largest of the Canary island.
Lanzarote has a mild dry climate with average temperatures throughout the year between 21 and 29 degrees and the normal water temperature of the Atlantic Ocean ranges between 19 degrees in winter and 23 degrees in summer and autumn. Annual rainfall is just 140mm (5.5 inches). This makes Lanzarote the perfect year-round destination for water sport or just relaxing in the sun by the pool.
The island of Lanzarote is the most unusual and surprising in the Canary Island archipelago. The island offers the visitor a wide variety of landscapes and attractions. Declared a Biosphere Reserve by the UNESCO in 1993, Lanzarote is made up of particularly beautiful landscapes.
A real must for the visitor are the art and culture centres, scattered all over the island. Mostly built by the famous Lanzarote artist, César Manrique, who was an expert in highlighting and conserving the charm and temperament of the island. They are a fascinating amalgamation of natural beauty and intelligent architecture.
Despite the volcanic nature of the island, Lanzarote has several beautiful golden sandy beaches such as Playa Blanca, Playa Dorada and the collection of beaches at Papagayo, all of which are near the villa.
The Marina Rubicón, is the main focal point of the area with its 400 boat moorings and exquisite restaurants and lively waterfront bars. Sign up for a fantastic trip on a catamaran, rent a kayak to explore the coast, relax beside the pool, or just, browse in the boutiques, shops and art gallery along the promenade around the harbour.
The area surrounding the villa also offers many more interesting things to do and places to visit.
* The coastal promenade starts near the villa at the El Pueblo shopping centre and runs for nearly 9 kilometres to the lighthouse on the south western tip of Lanzarote at Faro de Pechiguera and is perfect for fitness enthusiasts wanting to keep in shape or for the more relaxed holidaymaker, just having a pleasant stroll and enjoying the spectacular sea and mountain views.
* The area borders the Papagayo National Park with its coastal walks and world famous natural golden sandy beaches perfect for snorkelling or sunbathing.
* The Timanfaya National Park (Fire Mountain) is also close by, with its impressive volcanoes and lava fields.
* Playa Blanca old harbour is the ferry port to Fuerteventura. There are two companies providing service; Fred Olsen and Naviera Armas. If you are here in Playa Blanca for any length of time, a day trip to Fuerteventura and the town of Corralejo is highly recommended.
* Twice weekly craft market (Wednesday & Saturday 9 – 2pm) at the Marina creates a lively holiday atmosphere.
* Public Transport - Recently, a new (hop-on / hop–off) bus service was introduced that operates across Playa Blanca, linking Las Colorades in the east to Faro de Pechiguera in the west. The service operates twice every hour from Villas Del Sur.

"Amazing Villa, great location"
I went with my partner for a week to Villa Saskia and we loved it from the moment we got there. Andrea & George made booking the villa so easy from the payment to the information and maps supplied. The Villa itself is in a great peaceful location and kept to a very high standard. It is well equipped and the cleanliness is outstanding. We stayed around the villa most days as it was so enjoyable but we did venture out every night using the local bus which was every half hour. Mike who stays a few doors along was great and really helpful and it was good to know he was near hand if we needed him. We will definitely be back. Thank you Andrea and George

"Ver y comfortable with all you could need"
We had a most enjoyable week in this lovely villa ,close to supermarket for all needs.within walking distance of Marina Rubicon but ,although we did manage it, it would be better for younger fitter persons.taxis easy and cheap to use.
The villa having its own pool was a definite bonus
All you could need was in the villa except maybe no TV link to BBC &ITV which we understand can be obtained. Also no WI Fi which was made clear in the details - did manage to log in at a local restaurant.

"Fantastic villa - great attention to detail, well equipped and in an excellent location."
This is the second time we have stayed at Villa Saskia and have loved it on both occasions. The villa is spotlessly clean, well equipped and obviously much cared for by its owners, George and Andrea. The outdoor seating area is a great place to enjoy a glass of wine in the evening before making the 20 minute stroll to the marina for dinner. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend this villa and will no doubt be back again in the near future!

"Amazing , Relaxing, Home From Home"
Stayed at villa Saskia for 10 nights from the 9th june, with my wife ,2yr old daughter and parents. The booking process was very easy and George was very helpful suggesting restaurants for my fathers 70th birthday while we were here. The villa itself is very clean and has everything you need,including a good selection of books ,dvds and cd. The pool was lovely to cool off in the afternoon even though it was a nice temperature due to the solar cover, on Georges advice we didn't have the heating on. The villa is located in a quiet area about a twelve to fifteen minute walk ( with a toddler in a stroller) from the marina Rubicon. Taxis are very cheap, so we tended to jump in a taxi in the evening coming home or going to Playa Blanca old town. The Marina itself was relatively quiet during the evening probably due to the schools not being off. There are lots of restaurants around the marina we ate in several and had no complaints . Playa Blanca town is very nice in the evening with lots of restaurants to choose from, it was very busy here with lots of families and couples. Between the Rubicon marina and Playa Blanca town is a small selection of bars and restaurants which are very handy if having the day on the beach. Overall we had a lovely holiday and would recommend Villa Saskia for a nice relaxing holiday.

"Great location in Lanzarote"
We really enjoyed our holiday in Lanzarote. Villa Saskia is in a great location for exploring Lanzarote. Would recommend hiring a car and discovering the unusual landscape and small villages etc. away from the crowds. The villa is well designed and equipped and feels secluded. Private pool is a nice bonus. Thanks again Andrea and George for letting us stay in your lovely villa.

"Feb half term"
We stayed here with my wife and mother in-law in feb half term, the information given before hand by the owner is excellent and can't be faulted ie maps etc... getting access to the villa was als… More

With regard to the availability of Wi-Fi, air-conditioning and access to bedrooms. Our WebPages on both Holiday Lettings and Owners Direct give a very comprehensive overview of the Features and Facilities offered at the villa and neither of the first two items is mentioned. Our villa Community has for some time now been assessing the options for providing Wi-Fi and room fans are available for use in warmer weather. Also during the booking process, guests are given the opportunity to choose the rooms they wish to use during their stay.
I want to assure you that your comments have been taken seriously and constructively.

"Lovely holiday in excellent villa"
We enjoyed a wonderful stay in this lovely villa. The thoughtfulness of the owners ensured that everything you needed was provided. It is situated in a quiet cul de sac but within walking distance to a very well stocked supermarket and also the lovely Marina Rubicon with excellent restaurants. Thank you Andrea and George.

"Great Villa, Great Holiday"
High quality villa in a great location within close proximity to the Marina. Playa Dorada beach is within a 5 minute drive and its an excellent sandy beach ideal for children. We would highly recommend this villa if you were thinking of a week or two in Playa Blanca.

"Another great stay at Villa Saskia"
This was our second visit to Villa Saskia. Same week, same place! Once again the Villa proved to be excellent accommodation. We made a suggestion to the Villa owners after our stay last year that they might consider a parasol for the terrace. The sun is very low in January and we burn easily. They did buy one and it improved our enjoyment of the sunshine no end. There is of course - a huge partially covered sun terrace which provides ample shade in the summer months. These are considerate and accommodating owners. Big thanks to them!
Once again the villa was clean, tidy and in a very quiet location. A great place to stay!

"Great Villa and ideal location"
The Villa is well located in Playa Blanca with easy Walking distance to the Rubicon Marinas bars and restaurants.
The Villa is exceptionally well equipped TV satellite TV and lots of DVD,s available,nice settees, chairs and Tables, Outside the Pool is Great heated ideal for the Kids lovely Sun Loungers and nice table and chairs for outside dining is very private with high walls and no one can see directly into your pool and sun terrace.
I would thoroughly recommend this Villa a and im sure we will visit again.
