Further details outdoors

The spacious main terrace is set in mature gardens with a fabulous selection of plants, both simple and exotic. At night the gardens are lit by mood lighting creating a very special setting for evening dining or simply sitting and watching the stars or the ferries travel back and for to Fuerteventura.

The rear terrace is provided with quality hardwood dining furniture, a large (3m) parasol, a further moveable parasol, six sun loungers and a small metal occasional table and matching chairs, ideal for breakfast or a cup of coffee. The covered front terrace has a large, relaxing sofa and side table.

The large private pool is a strong feature of the villa. Nearly all of our guests comment on how fantastic it is and how lovely and warm they have found it. Depending on weather conditions, we aim to achieve 28 degrees all year round through the combination of solar panels and electric heating.

There is a roll-out high efficiency pool cover for guests to use to maintain the temperature overnight when most of the temperature loss can occur. There is a raised apron around the whole pool that helps deter little children from accidentally falling in and there is a life-ring provided.

There are two ladders for access and the pool depths are clearly marked. The pool is ideal for a simple dip or for those who like to pound up and down doing lengths!

The pool is regularly cleaned and chemically checked by our agent in the resort. It uses natural salt to purify the water, releasing chlorine that does it job and then converts back into salt so there are no chlorine odours or harsh chemicals to affect your skin, hair, eyes and swimming costumes. Our guests love it and notice the difference compared with other pools. So.... apart from putting the cover on, there is nothing else you have to do except enjoy it!

The terrace comes with a quality Webber kettle BBQ and a full selection of tools.

There are wooden shutters to all windows with mosquito net covers (plus an optional full ceiling mounted net for the master bedroom).

Set in a quiet cul-de-sac position, the villa has ample parking immediately outside the villa.

Further details

Please note that we do not charge extra for the cost of pool heating and internet connection These are included in the price.

Electric pool heating is used during the winter months only, at other times the pool is heated by solar acclimatisation.

The pool is ladder access and so might not be suited to young children.

The Canary Islands region

The most northerly and easterly of the Canary Islands, Lanzarote is 60 km long and 21 km wide over an area of 797 square km. The least mountainous of the islands, it has an average year-round temperature of 20 degrees. There is nearly always a breeze so you rarely feel uncomfortable even when it's very hot and it's generally pleasantly cool at night.

The fate of this extraordinary island was decided over two and a half centuries ago, when the largest volcanic eruption in recorded history took place, leaving a strange and alluring countryside in its wake - a landscape littered with volcanoes and dark streams of jagged lava. The island remains unspoilt by the concrete tourist developments affecting neighbouring Tenerife, due largely to the influence of the artist-designer, the late Cesar Manrique who worked to preserve the island's environmental heritage and whose influence abounds. In 1994, the island was declared a 'World Reserve of the Bioshere' by UNESCO. There are numerous protected areas throughout the island and it is regarded as one of the healthiest places on earth to live.

It's hard not to get away from it all on Lanzarote. The fledgling tourist industry is confined to a small number of resorts, with huge areas of unspoilt countryside, beaches and volcanic 'malpais' all within a short distance.

The beaches are simply fabulous. There is something for everyone, whether you like secluded coves, wide stretches of golden sands, rocky coastlines with tidal pools or crashing will find it all on Lanzarote. A surprise to many first time visitors is how golden the vast majority of beaches are...hardly any black sand to be found!

Playa Blanca

The villa is centrally located in a quiet and prestigious residential area of Playa Blanca. This is not an estate of concrete blocks or identical villas in rows. There are numerous different property types, from quite grand houses to small villas well spaced out over a mature site.

Playa Blanca is fast becoming one of the island's finest tourist areas. Originally a small fishing village it has been transformed into a first class holiday resort.

Most recent has been the development of Marina Rubicon, the largest private marina on the island. Effectively it's a small village of interconnecting cobbled streets lined with high class shops, cafes, and restaurants. It also now includes a great ten-pin bowling alley, mini-golf, pitch and putt golf course, shopping centre and more activities opening every few months.

Playa Blanca can boast the warmest weather on Lanzarote as it is almost always basked in warm sunshine, it can also lay claim to some of the finest beaches, where the deep turquoise sea is crystal clear and always calm. There are superb views of the mountains and the islands of Lobos and Fuerteventura across the water.

Playa Blanca's sea front promenade connects the beaches and is lined with shops, restaurants and bars. From the harbour at the far end of the promenade, you can catch a ferry to Fuerteventura. You can go as a foot passenger or with a car and the 15-minute crossing on the modern Fred Olsen FastCat is great fun as you can sit at the viewing deck at the front or on the open-air terrace and enjoy the ocean.

The resort is great for families, with low-key and not wild nightlife and entertainment. Some of the bars offer live music and there are plenty of good quality hotels with nightly entertainment and shows suitable for all the family, open free to non-residents. The choice of restaurants is a gastronomic delight, varying from local Canarian tapas to international cuisine.

A great advantage to staying in Playa Blanca is the proximity to the beaches of Papagayo. These beaches must be the most beautiful beaches on the island (and some people say in all of Spain). A visit to Papagayo is a must if you are staying in Playa Blanca, however, do take a picnic as there are no shops or facilities here, and you will need a car.

All in all, the general feel of the resort is relaxed with a family lager louts or all-night clubbers here! Nevertheless there is plenty to do, both by day and by night.

"Beautiful garden with views over to Fuertevenura"

Lovely peaceful location, secluded garden with heated pool, and great views over to Fuerteventura. House well appointed, plus lots of DVD's,books and box games to use if the weather not brilliant… More

Glad to hear that you enjoyed your stay, even though the January/ early February weather this year has not been brilliant. Despite what the guide books say, the Canary Islands do occasionally get some disappointing weeks - although it is all relative! We always say that even a bad day in Lanzarote is generally a lot warmer than it is back in the UK and when the sun comes out - you quickly realise what the weather could potentially be like (if only the wind would change direction and blow away the clouds etc).
Fortunately there are plenty of places to visit and things to do on cloudy days and as you said the swimming pool is heated all year around. Glad to hear the DVD's, books and games were put to good use.
We look forward to welcoming you back next year and hope that the weather will be better then.

"Beautiful garden, lovely pool, peaceful location."

The garden is lovely with beautiful plants and flowers. It is a great space to relax and eat outside. The pool is very pretty too and the fact that it is heated was appreciated as the weather in December was not quite warm enough to feel the need to cool off. The house is spacious and there is a great collection of DVDs and music (family disco anybody?).

Thanks for the review. The garden and pool area is such an important feature as it is where most guests spend most of their time - glad that you liked it. Fortunately the climate in Lanzarote means that there is pretty much always something in flower. Great to hear that you made good use of the CD and DVD collection. Hopefully you will visit again.

"Relaxing stay with brilliant facilities."

We really enjoyed our stat here. As a young couple with our one year old daughter and partners father, this villa was more than ideal. It had everything we needed, and the pool was well used! Beautifu… More

Thank you for taking the time to write a review and very pleased to hear that you all had an enjoyable stay at Villa Suenos. So glad that everything you needed was available. We hope that the cot and high chair we provide made things easier with your daughter and gave you some valuable relaxation time. We agree that having a hire car is not essential but does give you the flexibility to visit more places around the island. Let us know if you ever fancy a re-visit to explore a little more of all that Lanzarote has to offer.

Thank you for your lovely review - and so pleased that you had a relaxing week at Villa Suenos. We arrived for a short break on the day that you left so I have to agree that a nice warm pool is very inviting for regular dips.

Pleased to hear that you made good use of the internet connection - we know how important this facility is nowadays and happily provide access to the system for no extra charge.

We do like to think that our kitchen is well equipped but welcome suggestions as to what else might be needed. Therefore we have added a salad spinner as you suggested this might be a useful addition.

Hope that you will come back and see a little more of our lovely resort sometime.

Thank you so much for reviewing Villa Suenos. Very pleased to hear that you liked everything on offer here. Only sorry to hear that the weather during your stay wasn't as great as it can be.
Eating out is always a delight in Playa Blanca - we are spoilt for choice. We enjoy researching any new restaurants on our visits so that we can give advice to our guests. Hard work but it has to be done!!.
Hope you will revisit one day.

"High expectations surpassed"

We are so pleased that everything met your expectations. We do try to keep everything possible to a high standard as we want all our guests to have a wonderful holiday and enjoy their stay as much as possible. As you say, our local agents are always on hand if there are any problems that arise and we maintain regular contact with them. They can give advice and suggestions about anything that is not already covered in the Information folders, we leave in the Villa. We do hope that you will re-visit, as there is always more to see on the island and you quickly settle into your holiday when your surroundings are familiar.Thank you for the review.

"Another fantastic holiday in a very well equipped villa, in a great location."

We have stayed at Villa Suenos on 9 occasions, so they must be getting something right. Everything possible has been thought of to make guests comfortable and to offer a brilliant level of equipment. … More

Thank you for the review and wonderful comments about the villa. The "piedra" stone wall is one of the first things that caught our attention when we first saw the house. The garden is a constant project as we try to plant a few new plants on each visit and add lighting to make the garden a feature at night as well as in the day. Glad that you were happy with the airport transfer arrangements - we have recommended Last Minute Transfers to several guests now. Looking forward to welcoming you again.

So pleased that you all had a great time and a relaxing stay, particularly as you were celebrating a special event. We are always pleased to give personal recommendations about local restaurants and tourist attractions, if asked, as we have visited most places during our 10 years of regular visits to Playa Blanca! Glad to hear that the Welcome pack we provide was well received - we know that the first thing that most guests like to do on arrival is to pour a drink and take in the surroundings before settling in. Your comments about the location, privacy and ease of getting around will be of help to prospective future guests.Thank you for choosing Villa Suenos.

Thank you for your lovely review - we are always so pleased when guests obviously appreciate the work we do on our trips out to the Villa to keep it to a high standard and to provide the little touches to make a good impression. It was very kind of you to tell your fellow travellers about the Villa, we will let you know if we hear from anyone as a result of this. Also,if you ever come back yourselves, remind us that you like a softer bed as we have a mattress topper, you could make use of. All best wishes.
