The Lanzarote region

Lanzarote is situated just 79 miles off the coast of Africa and is the most easterly of the Canary Islands. The island is 37 miles (60km) long and 12 miles (20 km) wide, making it the fourth largest island in the Canaries.
Lanzarote enjoys a mild dry climate with average daytime temperatures ranging from about 21°C in January to 29°C in August. Annual rainfall is just 140mm (5.5 inches). This makes Lanzarote the perfect year-round destination.
As with the other Canary Islands, Lanzarote is Volcanic in origin. Due to the recent eruptions during the 18th and 19th Centuries, many parts of Lanzarote appear to be from another world, often described as 'lunar' or 'Martian'.
The dry climate (and lack of erosion) means that the Volcanic Landscape appears much as it did just after the eruptions.
Amongst the many stunning Volcanic features of Lanzarote is the longest Volcanic Tunnel in the world, the Atlantida Tunnel, which is over 7 km long and includes the La Cueva de los Verdes and Jameos del Agua.
Despite the Volcanic nature of the island, Lanzarote has several beautiful white beaches such as at Playa Blanca and Papagayo.
Local authority regulations on the amount and style of development mean that there is no billboard advertising and no high rise buildings in Lanzarote (with the exception of the Grand Hotel in Arrecife).
The Playa Blanca / Faro Park area
There are many activities on offer, from Camel riding and Tapas bars to Spanish linguistics-what ever your fancy, you’ll find something here.
Why not start at the promenade, which extends for a staggering 3 miles and bonds both sides of the resort, giving the best opportunity to take in the various sea fronts of Playa Blanca, not to mention the superb Ocean views across the Bocaina Straits to Fuerteventura.
Playa Blanca is renowned for its various awe-inspiring golden and black sandy beaches. The very name ‘Playa Blanca’ itself means “White beach” which supports the fact that we are not the only ones who think the beaches here are breathtakingly memorable.
As you can probably already tell, Playa Blanca is more Tranquil and sophisticated then its brothering Cities, Puerto Del Carmen, Arrecife and Costa Teguise.
Timanfaya National Park (Parque Nacional of Timanfaya) is an amazing piece of history that has miraculously transformed into a unique sight. The parkland is made entirely of volcanic soil and at a depth of only 13 meteres can reach a temeprature of 600ºC; water is poured into the ground creating a geyser of steam, a thrilling specticle amongst all toursists! You can also enjoy the restaurant (where the food is cooked on the heat of the volcano!) souvenir shop and secure parking, for under 10 euros.
The Marina Rubicon is an exclusive chic and glamorous Haven located in Playa Blanca. This ocean side development offers a range of shops, bars and attractions, so why not partake in a voyage on the “Rubicat”, a sample of the good life! Aboard this luxurious Catamaran you’ll sail to Papagayo where you can then enjoy snorkeling and jet skiing in the crystal waters or indulge in fine served food and drink. No? Then why not take a trip to “La Ermita” an art gallery designed in the likeness of a traditional small island church and hosts a number of exhibitions in a beautifully serene and soothing ambiance.
Want more?
How about Car, Bike and Quad hire, various excursions, submarine trips, diving lessons, fishing gear and much more.
There are also more restaurants around Playa Blanca than you could ever visit in one trip, but that’s ok…we’re pretty sure that you’ll want to return!
Faro Park is a 5 minute drive from Playa Blanca, and is a select residential area.
it is situated near to the sea which has a lovely rocky shoreline.
The villas are all detached and have generous plots.
There are 3 bars 3 restaurants 2 supermarkets , a bakery and a lovely French cafe bar.

We have just stayed at casa beluka for the 2nd time, and are already booked for next year. I would highly recommend this villa for all holiday makers, espicially those with children. The villa itself is stunning. The private pool and hot tubs are an absolute winner with us adults and our young children, there is also a large collection of indoor and outdoor toys provided at the villa which kept all the children very happy. One of the reasons we keep coming back is that the villa provides real luxury, the bedrooms are beautifully decorated and extra comfortable, free wifi and sky tv make it a real home from home. If you decide to cook whilst on holiday there is everything you need in the villa and more. We are always well looked after whilst there and the pool is always cleaned, the villa always pristine! The outside are of casa beluka is fantastic, so much space for lounging and also a faboulous pool table, you really couldnt ask for more. The location of the villa is tranquil yet a 2 minute walk to local cafes, restaurants and supermarkets. If you'd like to venture into town its a cheap 5 euro taxi ride where we enjoyed excellent food on the seafront. Casa beluka is a winner on every level, we can not wait to return. |

We are a couple who live on the mainland Spain so the time of year we can holiday and find somewhere warm has to be the canaries. Casa Beluka is a beautiful and very well thought through villa with every amenity you can imagine. To have one amazing jacuzzi is wonderful but to have another hot tub on your own private balcony upstairs with amazing sea views is just sheer luxury. The balcony is a great place to sit and have a cool glass of wine and watch the stars and listen to the waves. Even though we are in our early fifties, the pool table was a great bonus as well. The heated pool was fantastic, it actually was heated to around 30 degrees. All the outsde furniture is pure quality, as well as the inside. The double bed is amazingly comfortable. The added benefit of it being walking distance to numerous bars and eateries means you don't need a car if you don't want to drive. I could go on and on but would porbably bore you, but we have been twice and would not hesitate to go back. |

We stayed at Casa Beluka in July 2011 for two weeks and our only regret is that we didn't stay longer. It is located in a quiet residential area with a small number of bars and restaurants just a few minutes walk away. A taxi to the centre of Playa Blanca cost just €5 euros for a large 7 seater. The villa is beautiful and has everything that you need and more besides. We had wonderful days by the pool with the BBQ close to hand. We all made great use of the pool table and the comfortable outdoor seating area (which can be covered in the evening if it gets cooler). The jacuzzi's were also a hit when we wanted to relax at the end of the day! Our 7 year old son had a great time playing with all the outdoor and indoor toys. I cannot recommend this villa enough, it is a wonderful place for a family holiday. |
