Home description
Casas del Sol is located in a prime position in Playa Blanca right opposite the little harbour and close to the shops and beaches. These bungalows are situated in beautifully landscaped gardens around a large heated swimming pool and toddler pool. The villas are in clusters but spaced well apart and all are south facing, some with superb sea and island views. These bungalow style villas each have a private garden area with gate and patio furniture and sun loungers. Inside the villas are very well furnished and equipped. Casas del Sol has been attractively lanscaped and all the villas are accessed by footpaths so there is no through vehicular traffic resulting in peaceful and tranquil surroundings. Casas del Sol has a large heated salt water pool, a paddling pool for children and two tennis courts. The beaches and variety of shops and restaurants of Playa Blanca are within a few minutes walk. A perfect location particularly for families and retired people.

The Lanzarote region
Lanzarote is an island with almost perpetual sunshine, particularly in the south, because of the warming influence of the Gulf Stream and favourable trade winds. Playa Blanca (where most of our villas are located) is recognised as the ideal location for those wishing to soak up the sun at any time of the year, but at the same time enjoy the benefits of peace and tranquility.
The development of Lanzarote as a holiday island has been influenced greatly by Cesar Manrique an artist and architect who was able to influence its development through an understanding of the need and benefits of tourism, but also a need for conservation of the islands natural beauty. As a result, Manrique created a number of attractive places for visitors to enjoy, with the preservation of the landscape in mind. You can see these throughout the island including: Mirador Rio in the North where you can admire a spectacular view across to the island of La Graciosa; the beautiful Cactus Garden with restored windmill; and, perhaps most stunning of all, the house Manrique designed and built as his home, in lava bubbles in the midst of the volcanic landscape.
Other spectacular natural sights include: the Timanfaya National Park, where you can take a guided tour of the moonscape and volcanoes; the spectacular caves in the centre of the island Jameos del Agua and La Cueva de los Verdes; the stunning green lagoon at El Golfo; and the beautiful, but strange, wine region of La Geria.
There is also a wide choice of excellent restaurants dotted all over the island, where seafood, cheese, canarian potatoes and peppers Padron are specialities.
Playa Blanca / Casas del Sol area
Playa Blanca is a beautiful fishing village in the South of Lanzarote, with pretty whitewashed houses and shops along a pedestrianised road where you can shop for attractive gifts, clothes and food. The views from Playa Blanca are always stunning, over the sparkling blue sea to the island of Fuerteventura, or across to the beaches at Papagayo. There are no high-rise buildings and the atmosphere is warm, friendly and family oriented.
There is a choice of three golden, sandy beaches to walk to, as well as the superb and more remote Papagayo beaches a short drive away. The village has a variety of excellent restaurants, a few bars, some supermarkets, shops and banks.
The little harbour at Playa Blanca not only acts as host to visiting yachtsmen and the local fishermen, but is also the main terminal for the frequent, daily ferry service to the neighbouring island of Fuerteventura.
The new Marina Rubicon provides upmarket shops and restaurants in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere and is a short drive or half an hours walk from the village. There is also a very nice craft market here on Wednesday mornings.
We either own the villas we let, or rent on behalf of other private owners. We pay regular visits each year to ensure the villas are maintained and equipped to a very high standard. We also provide a complimentary food pack on arrival.
Lanzarote is around three and a half hours direct flying time from most of the major airports in the UK. There are a few flights on odd days during the week, but our villas are mainly let from Thursday to Thursday.
For our Lanzarote holidays, we can provide a fully comprehensive, but extremely competitive, package including the cost of accommodation, daytime flights and car hire.
How to get there
There are flights to Lanzarote from most UK airports. Easyjet start flying there from Garwick in April 2008. The flight time is approximately 4 hours and there is no time difference between Lanzarote and the UK. It takes about half an hour to get from the airport to Playa Blanca and there are plenty of local taxis to take you to the villa, costing about 30 Euros each way. We can also arrange quality car hire from the airport - please ask for details and prices.

Further details outdoors: Our beautifully furnished, well equipped villa with sea view has recently had a new kitchen and shower room fitted. It has an open plan lounge/dining area incorporating the fully equipped kitchen with fridge with freezer compartment, full cooker, washing machine , microwave and dishwasher, coffee machine and juicer , plenty of crockery, cutlery and cooking utensils, The lounge has a CD/cassette player, TV , video player and DVD player with a wide choice of films. There is one double size bedroom with twin beds and ample wardrobe space and the small second bedroom has a single bed. This villa has a pretty, private patio garden with gate. There is a table and chairs for dining outside, a barbecue plus sunbeds for relaxing in the sunshine. The villa also has a retractable awning on the patio for extra shade if required. Cots and high chairs can be hired and there is a weekly maid service with full clean at the end of the week plus a mid-week towel change
