The Lanzarote region

Lanzarote is situated just 79 miles off the coast of Africa and is the most easterly of the Canary Islands. The island is 37 miles (60km) long and 12 miles (20 km) wide, making it the fourth largest island in the Canaries.
Lanzarote enjoys a mild dry climate with average daytime temperatures ranging from about 21°C in January to 29°C in August. Annual rainfall is just 140mm (5.5 inches). This makes Lanzarote the perfect year-round destination. As with the other Canary Islands, Lanzarote is Volcanic in origin. Due to the recent eruptions during the 18th and 19th Centuries, many parts of Lanzarote appear to be from another world, often described as lunar
The dry climate (and lack of erosion) means that the Volcanic Landscape appears much as it did just after the eruptions. Amongst the many stunning Volcanic features of Lanzarote is the longest Volcanic Tunnel in the world, the Atlantida Tunnel, which is over 7 km long and includes the La Cueva de los Verdes and Jameos del Agua. Timanfaya National park is a must-see for any visitor to Lanzarote. 50 km of Volcanic Landscape and Craters, as well as the 'El Diablo' Restaurant. The wine Museum of Lanzarote is located at the old cellars of the "El Grifo" Wineries, which were built over the volcanic lava left from the 18th century erupti. Jameos del Agua is a cave complex that includes a natural Concert Hall with wonderful acoustics, subterranean lagoon, a restaurant and a museum.
The Playa Blanca / Parque del Rey area
There are a host of things to do in Playa Blanca as well as the obvious attractions of the beaches. The promenade is well worth taking as it links both sides of the resort. It allows you to take in most of the (sea-front) sites of Playa Blanca as well as spectacular Ocean views across the Bocaina Straits to Fuerteventura. The coastline around Playa Blanca is essentially one large 9 kilometre wide bay which is then broken up into three smaller, but still large, bays. This basic geography means that the beaches in and around Playa Blanca are sheltered and ideal for swimming and sunbathing. Playa Blanca has all the normal tourist shops that you would imagine in the centre and along the central part of the beach promenade, although not as many as the other major resorts. If you want a more upmarket style of shopping experience, then the new Marina Rubicon is rapidly becoming the place to go. While you can eat and drink in one of the many bars and restaurants in Playa Blanca, the tone of nightlife here is not as riotous as it is in other resorts on the island,

Guestbook for Casa Ceri
July 2009
Dear Margaret and David,
We had the most wonderful holiday at your villa and I want to thank you so much. Probably the best holiday we've had! Aside from the perfectly furnished and equipped villa and pool, great services, I must mention the welcome pack which was very well received indeed!
I do hope we can do the same next year.
Very Kind Regards,
Phil and Family.

Hi Margaret
Just to say we had a wonderful week at casi ceri. It was a lovely first holiday abroad for me with my girls where we sunbathed and swam during the day, walked into playa blanca for an evening meal (the best indian we have ever tasted!) and then took a taxi back after for just 3 euros. Everyone was helpful, friendly and the promenade provided many varieties of shops and restaurents, all excellent (we tried most of them!).
The villa was lovely and clean and the welcome pack was very welcome,
Thank you
Ali.

Hi Margaret and David,
We had a lovely time at your Villa, yes we had lovely weather ( a bit too hot on the first couple of days, really hot wind) Do you know we never saw our neighbours either side the whole time, we love the fact that the villa is so private. It's a lovely large patio area you have by the pool, much better than the two villa either side, we made good use of the BBQ, think we had three. Thank you for the hairdryer, I'm sure there was one there last year, perhaps someone left it by mistake. Thank you also for the welcome pack, great to have a cup of tea after travelling all that time. We would recommend your villa, it's perfect has everything you need for a quiet relaxing wonderful holiday. (But don't tell everyone we may want it again next year) All the very best to you both.
Love Maureen.
