About the home

Villa Maria is a detached property in the exclusive development of Las Coloradas within easy walking distance of the new Marina Rubicon with its designer shops, quayside bars & restaurants. Papagayo National Park is a
short walk away with the best golden sandy beaches on Lanzarote.

Villa Maria has easy access built all on one level with no stairs or steps, each bedroom & the lounge/diner has direct access to the patio which is fully equipped with all you need for al fresco dining, table chairs, BBQ, sunbeds & parasols. One bedroom has an en-suite bathroom with double sink. The 2nd bedroom also has its own bathroom again with twin sinks.

Villa Maria is only 3 kilometres from the centre of Playa Blanca with its many duty free shops & picturesque restaurant lined seafront promenade.

We think Villa Maria is the ideal choice for 1 or 2 couples to enjoy a quiet, relaxing, sociable holiday.

Deposit of £50 per person. Balance due 8 weeks before departure date.

To facilitate cleaning etc., we need to ask you to vacate the villa by 10am on your day of departure.

Entry time on the day of arrival is 3pm for the same reason.

The Lanzarote region

Las Coloradas is ideally positioned adjacent to the Papagayo national park reserve for walking or cycling. The reserve also has many of Lanzarote's best beaches for swimming or snorkeling.

Sea fishing is popular off the rocks or you can hire a boat from the nearby Marina Rubicon.

Lanzarote's splendid volcanic scenery is a must visit at the Timanfaya National Park only 20 mins drive away.

Enjoy the many unique & stunningly original contributions local artist Cesar Manrique bequeathed to the island.

Good local markets in Playa Blanca on Saturday & Teguise on Sunday. Nearby Marina Rubicon also holds markets on Wednesday & Saturdays.

Try the local wines in the many Bodegas in the La Geria region (try to find the Bermejo Bodega, in our opinion its the best local wine & only usually found in the better restaurants).

Scuba Diving widely available at Marina Rubicon & Playa Blanca.

The Playa Blanca / Las Coloradas area

Las Coloradas is 3 kilometres from the centre of Playa Blanca. Although new building work continues between both, Las Coloradas itself is complete with little or no new building underway. Most of the properties are privately owned & well maintained. The area is generally quiet & residential, we do have 2 hotels (one is 5 star) near the rocky Las Coloradas beach 5 mins walk away. The hotels have many facilities associated with big hotels & welcome non residents.
Just opened in the new Peublo shopping centre, 5 minutes walk away , is a Congelados Roper supermarket selling the very best fresh & frozen foods on the island, super quality meats, fish etc a delight for the BBQ. The Peublo centre also has some small shops, restaurants & bars.
Other small supermarkets are walking distance but a larger Hiperdino store is 2 mins in a car.

Hi Ian, just returned from a fantastic holiday at your super Villa Maria. Thank you so much, we have had the most relaxed holiday yet in the 26 years that we have been going to Lanzarote. The villa was spotless and had everything we needed. Between us we read 6 books from your extensive library and I discovered 2 'new' authors (Ken Follet & Peter James), also Diane was able to snuggle up with Andrea Bocelli each evening. Apart from one iffy day when we had to drive to Puerto Calero to find the sun, the weather was perfect. The pool was in use daily and for the first time ever we never went in the sea.
We certainly intend to return to Villa Maria , we were tempted to stay on an extra few days this holiday but I don't think your next guests would have wanted two squatters! Thanks again,

Hi Ian and Sharon, Just to tell you we all had a fabulous holiday in Villa Maria! It was just perfect, such a lovely area and very quiet. The kids have shrunk, they were in the pool so much!!! Eddie and Angie were great, villa spotlessly clean as was the pool. Thank you so much for allowing us to stay, we arrived home to our usual cold and wet summer here but all bronzed and refreshed. Hope to visit again in the near future.

Hi Sharon Ian. Just a note to say we have returned home after our stay in Villa Maria. We had a wonderful time there. The Villa is excellent, had everything we needed, was spotlessly clean when we arrived, is in a wonderfully quiet area and yet within easy reach of everything. Eddie and Angie were very helpful, Eddie took us to the airport which was great. Altogether a very relaxing and enjoyable experience. Many thanks for the use of Villa Maria and we hope to return.

We found the information folder very useful and managed to see quite a bit of the island during the week - and we ate at several of your recommended restaurants.
