About the home

Casas del Sol is a development of villas set in beautiful mature gardens opposite the harbour in Playa Blanca. The complex is mainly traffic free having a car park at the entrance but allowing access to the villas for luggage drop off and pick up. The atmosphere on this complex is very laid back, friendly and cosmopolitan making this perfect for a relaxing holiday. The location is excellent as it is very central being opposite the harbour and only a few minutes walk away from the beaches, shops,banks and restaurants and all the main amenities of Playa Blanca. The outlook from the patio is onto a garden area and on the patio there is a patio set and sun loungers with comfortable cushions, the pool is approximately 200 meters away to the rear of the villa.

A charming little villa, ideal for a couple or a family with 1or 2 small children as the property consists of 1 twin bedroom and 1 bunk bedroom, 1 shower room, lounge/diner and kitchen. The kitchen has an oven/hob, fridge/freezer, microwave oven, kettle, toaster and fitted granite work surfaces. Other facilities in the villa include satellite TV, DVD player, ipod docking station, CD player, hairdryer, safe, heater for winter months and fans for summer nights, washing machine, barbecue.
A cot and high chair can be hired.
Free wi-fi access and a static computer are available in the main reception area of the complex.

Part of the complex is on the flat and part is on a gentle incline which provides some of the properties with good views. A solar heated swimming pool and children's pool form the centre of this development with sun beds and shade by the pool, there is also an outdoor shower, toilets and a drinks machine in the pool area for your enjoyment. The reception office is staffed by helpful, friendly people who are ready to assist you 7 days a week until midnight so late arrivals are always catered for plus there is also a small store for essential groceries also open late. A tennis court to the rear of the complex adds to the amenities to be enjoyed on this site.

The Lanzarote region

Lanzarote is a unique island of spectacular scenery and stark contrasts. The landscape is volcanic and very different to the other Canary Islands. It is located approximately 40 miles from the Moroccan coast in the Atlantic Ocean and about 4 hours flying time from the U.K. The weather is fine and warm throughout the year with very little rainfall and temperatures varying between 21 and 34 degrees.
The buildings are mainly low rise in complexes with garden areas and there are many inland villages untouched by time. The whole island gives a feeling of relaxation and quality.
There are many interesting places to visit - the Timanfaya National Park is a must. Here you can take a camel ride to see the volcanic landscape or take the interesting bus tour around the craters. In the central parts of the island you will see the very unusual way local farmers cultivate their land and to the north Los Jameos is a unique system of underground tubes to be visited. The house of Caesar Manrique is particularly interesting, as an architect and an artist he is responsible for the unique way in which Lanzarote has developed.
The best windsurfing areas are to the north of the island, whereas the south is more sheltered and has lovely beaches of golden sand. The Papagayo beaches are famous throughout the Canaries for their unspoilt natural beauty and crystal clear sea. There are 2 golf courses on the island.

The Playa Blanca / Casas del Sol area

Playa Blanca is situated on the southern tip of the island, approximately a 40 minute drive from the airport. It benefits from the best weather on the island and superb views over the straits of La Bocaina to Fuerteventura.
The resort has expanded along the coast but the buildings are mainly high quality villas and hotels. The village centre is pedestrianised with landscaping of the main thoroughfare and many shops and restaurants along the promenade and through the centre. . The origins of the fishing village it once was are still in evidence and provide the resort with a heart and character. The atmosphere is laid back and relaxed with the focus on the nightlife being in the restaurants, local bars or hotels. Children are welcomed everywhere and entertainment is provided for them in the evening in the hotels. Daytime activities are usually centred around the beach, the pool or a variety of boat trips which can be taken from the harbour or the Marina Rubicon. There is a 2x weekly market at the Marina and many quality shops & restaurants. Ferries leave regularly throughout the day across to Fuerteventura and the crossing takes approximately 40 minutes.

“a quiet relaxing complex in a superb location ideal for couples looking for peace and quiet” Playa Blanca is a resort with the most fantastic promenade walk, lovely beaches ideal for children. Casas Del Sol is a very quiet complex very clean, lovely gardens and very well cared for.. The accommodation is clean comfortable and well looked after and has every thing you need to make your stay comfortable. Problems if any are dealt with promptly . The reception staff are extremely helpful and friendly nothing is to much trouble. I would recommend playa blanca and Casas Del Sol and Lanzarote has a superb climate.

“Pensioners abroad” Could not find any fault with this holiday accommodation, it is as per its advertisement, and we hope to use it again. It is not our first time at the Casas del Sol but this bungalow is the best we have had.

“Very relaxing holiday destination with great restaurants on the doorstep.” The accommodation is excellent and the complex great, good pool and great location so that you do not need a car to explore all of Playa Blanca. You can easily walk to excellent restaurants.

“Ideal place to relax” The ideal place for a relaxing break, a lovely clean well equipped bungalow in a quiet position on well managed and well kept complex. Lots of good Restaurants, catering for all tastes, within a 10 minute walk. We will be back again.

“Excellent Bungalow” Have just returned from a glorious 10 days here. Complex is peaceful and relaxing with all that Playa Blanca has to offer on your doorstep. Bungalow well equipped to a high standard and pool area is quiet without any need to stake a claim for a sunbed! Beautiful evening strolls along the promenade to the Marina or an abundance of good quality restaurants and bars within a minutes walk. Beaches minutes away and would recommend ferry to Furteventura for a day trip. anyone booking this apartment will not be disappointed and am already looking to book my return trip next year.

“good for only 2 adults and child” bothered by mosquitos... problem with fridge door which did not close unless you pushed it hard, although we complained was fobbed of with an excuse, but nothing was done about it. Otherwise position and value were very good. Would recommend for a cheap week away.
