About the home

'Casa Blanca' is a beautiful 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom fully equipped south facing villa with its own private heated swimming pool, situated in a quiet location only 5 minutes walk from the nearest beach, local shops and amenities and only a 5 minute drive to the centre of Playa Blanca, or we now have a local bus service that runs all the way from the villa, through Playa Blanca centre and all the way to Marina Rubicon every half hour, the cost for this bus service is a fixed cost at 1 euro 20 cents. .
The sun terrace and pool area is equipped with your own 7m x 4m private heated swimming pool, 4 sunloungers, patio furniture and a barbecue and is completely private with views to the island of Fuerteventura.
There is ample car parking space in the villa's private driveway.
300 metres to the sea and the nearest beach and only 5-10 minutes walk to local shops, bars and amenities.

You gain entrance to Casa Blanca via a rear doorway which leads you into the contemporary furnished living/dining room with a sliding glazed patio door which will lead you out to the large sun terrace with your own 7m x 4m private heated swimming pool, the terrace has outside lighting and the swimming pool has underwater lighting for the perfect atmosphere with a glass of wine when the sun goes down. The terrace is furnished with patio furniture for outside dining and 4 sun loungers for sun bathing, there is also a barbecue and 2 seater sofa for relaxing evenings by the pool.
Back into the living room you will find 2x 3 seater sofas, Satellite TV, DVD player, hi-fi and coffee table to make it a home from home.
Also in the living room there is a dining table and 4 chairs should you decide to eat indoors.
From the living room you are led to the hallway from which the Master bedroom leads.
The Master Bedroom is equipped with a kingsize bed with 2x bedside cabinets, 2x large chests of drawers with mirror above and large built in wardrobes with a safe inside.
The master bedroom also boasts an En-suite bathroom with bath, shower, sink unit, WC & bidet.
The hallway also leads to the House bathroom with sink, WC and massaging power shower with 6 heads.
From there the next room along is the 2nd bedroom with twin beds, bedside cabinet, full length mirror and built in wardrobes.
The kitchen is situated to the side of the dining area and is complete with a range of Beech veneered units and solid Beach work surfaces. There is a fridge/freezer, ceramic hob, microwave/grill, kettle, toaster, iron, ironing board and all the crockery, cutlery, pans and glassware you should require.
From the kitchen there is a stable door that leads to the enclosed Solana (open topped drying area), out here there is an automatic washing machine, washing line and clothes airer.
Bed linen and towels (except beach towels) are provided and are changed on a weekly basis and the swimming pool and gardens are cleaned/serviced twice a week.

A £70 non-refundable deposit is required for 1 week bookings or a £100 non-refundable deposit is require with 2 week bookings and the balance will be due to be paid 8 weeks before your departure.

The Lanzarote region

Lanzarote is the most beautiful of all the Canary Islands enjoying a perfect climate and sunshine all year round. There are lots of places of interest to visit on the island including the most spectacular Timanfaya National Park with an active volcano.
Most of the beaches on the island are made from white sand, the best of which can be found in and around Playa Blanca (Papagayo)

The Playa Blanca / Playa Burgado area

Playa Blanca, as you will find out during your stay, is the perfect holiday location to unwind, you can stroll along the seafront walkway (just 300 metres to the front of the villa) all the way to the newly built Marina Rubicon.
The first beach that you will encounter is only about 400 metres from the villa but the best beach is the next one along this one is called Flamingo Beach.

After passing the Playa Flamingo you will soon be arriving at the harbour and the start of Playa Blanca old town (this is where you can take a ferry across to Fuertaventura) the Armas ferry runs about every 2 hours and takes about 30 minutes to get there but the more exiting Fred Olsen ferry only takes 12 minutes.
Once passed the harbour you can stroll past (or call in) all the seafront bars and restaurants or walk up the steps to explore the town centre.
Already you will have noticed that you haven’t been accosted by any people trying to sell you timeshares or sunglasses and no touts have tried to pull you into a bar that you don’t want to go in, that’s because you don’t get that in Playa Blanca, that’s why we have our second home here.

Once passed the old town you will soon arrive at a lovely beach called Playa Dorada, again with golden sands as are most of the beaches in Playa Blanca.
Next along the walkway is the beautiful Marina Rubicon, we love it there just sitting and relaxing in one of the many bars overlooking the marina and you will be pleasantly surprised by the prices of the food and drinks, they haven’t been bumped up as you usually expect in marinas.
The total distance of your stroll will be about 5 kilometres from our villa to the marina and it will be one of the nicest walks on the island.
If you have a car and fancy a trip to the famous Papagayo Beach it will take about 10-15 minutes. Papagayo Beach is further along from Marina Rubicon but is best reached by car or by boat trip from the harbour. If you decide the car is the best option, go back to the main road at the rear of the villa (the road you came in on) and head back towards Playa Blanca until you reach the ‘CEPSA’ petrol station on the large roundabout. Take the 1st exit (right) at the roundabout the at the next roundabout take the 3rd exit (left), go straight over the next roundabout and then take the 2nd exit (straight on) at the one after that, then just follow the ‘road’ until you reach Papagayo Beach, the road is quite rough and there is a small charge for cars but its well worth a look.
Another worthwhile car trip is to The Timanfaya National Park which is the highest volcano on Lanzarote, the landscape and views are amazing.
There are many supermarkets in Playa Blanca, the nearest to the villa is to the right at the front, go straight on at the roundabout instead of turning back up to the main road (5 minutes walk).
There are better ones which are only a short drive away in the centre of Playa Blanca.

Car hire is recomended to explore this beautiful island, we book our hire car over the internet before we travel on www.autoreisen.es - The prices are unbelievably cheap and you collect your keys from their desk at the side of the baggage carousel in Arrecife Airport whilst you are waiting for your luggage to appear.
We can also offer you a personal airport transfer to collect you from Arrecife Airport to the villa and then back to the airport on your departure day all for a total cost of £35 each way for up to 4 passengers.
Or we have a local bus service that runs all the way from the villa, through Playa Blanca centre and all the way to Marina Rubicon every half hour, the cost for this bus service is a fixed cost at 1 euro 15 cents.

“Perfect, total relaxation in a clean, comfortable villa that was more like a home.” This was our first experience of a villa holiday and no matter how many times we viewed the photos we could never imagine having such a great time. We had good communication with the owners prior to the holiday and made arrangements to be picked up at the airport, within 10 minutes of landing we finally met up with our hosts (who are delightful) and we were given a guided tour and hints and tips of the area. Arriving at the villa we were very happy with everything, there was a welcome bottle of wine and basic provisions to tie us over. We later enjoyed the wine sitting by the pool that looked great with under water lighting, we even had a midnight dip in the heated water. The villa really is a home from home, comfortable, clean and very private. We didn't do much during the two weeks, we just chilled out during the day, maybe walking to a bar, harbour or the marina but it was so hot and the villa had everything so why bother!! There are a few bars and restaurants within 5-10 minutes walk and we enjoyed some excellent meals at very reasonable prices. I could go on about our holiday but the proof in the pudding is that we have already booked for next year!!!!
