The Lanzarote region

Lanzarote is one of the Canary Islands and like all the other Islands it is volcanic (it's been over 100 years since the last eruption) and in some parts looks as if it is part of the moon! It is 60 miles from the coast of Africa and has a very low annual rainfall at 5.5 inches (140 mm) with temperatures rarely dropping below 20 degree in January, but will be in excess of 30 in August which makes it the perfect year round destination with a cool breeze from the Atlantic Ocean to keep you feeling comfortable.

Playa Blanca is an ideal family location where you can enjoy the beaches and many local attractions, and the great weather!

Playa Blanca

The National Park (Timanfiya) is a great place to learn about how the island developed into what it is today.

Ceasar Manrique, a local artist has many of his works on public display and built his home in lava bubbles and is a MUST SEE.

The Cueva de los Verdes and James del Agua caves are part of a 6 km long lava tube and are well worth a visit. These caves were used many years ago to hide from pirates.

The famous Papagayo Beaches are beautiful sandy beaches that can be reached by car or water ferry.

Mirador del Rio is a man made viewpoint at the north end of the island and sits 465 metres above the sea.

There is a weekly market in Teguise where you can haggle for a bargain, or the local market on the edge of the village of Playa Blanca.

There are many other attractions to visit as well, local coach operators organise visits to the most popular attractions for reasonable rates, or you can hire a car to see them yourself at your own pace.

"A compact apartment with spacious living area."

Enjoyed a week here at Easter. The complex was not very busy, it was therefore very relaxing. The apartment has everything you need including a washing machine located outside in a cupboard. The bathroom is a bit outdated. The patio was very private and we used the BBQ most nights. Bars and shopping bar close by. I would recommend here to any of my friends looking to relax.

"Clean well equipped bungalow in a lovely quiet area close to beach and within walking distance to local amenities."

Kitchen is well equipped for cooking indoors if you don't want to eat out every night at one of the many lovely restaurants. BBQ available and worked well also.
Bedrooms are a decent size with plenty of wardrobe space. Loved the fact you were able to have your windows open and feel secure and free from mosquito's with the mesh shutters with locks. Living area is more than adequate and small patio area got the afternoon sunshine!
Pool and surrounding areas along with the whole complex was well looked after and in good condition!
Reception were helpful and we loved the book swap scheme available!
Local Spar shop within 5 minute walking distance although would recommend going to the Hyper Dino Supermarket if possible as it was much cheaper and is a 5 minute drive.
unable to work the Sky television as there was no lead but that did not spoil our experience.

Within driving distance to Papagayo beach and Timanfaa national Park (both would recomend) Forget the Cave and the tiny white crabs!
Playa Blanca was lovely! Would recommend Lani's and Timanfayo Restaurant for great food and service.
