The Lanzarote region
Lanzarote has a very warm year round climate and therefore is more popular in the Winter than any other short haul destination. The Island is quite small and it only takes just over one hour to drive from North to South.
The roads are very quiet and it is an easy place to drive even if you are not accustomed to driving on the other side of the road. The Spanish people in Lanzarote are very friendly and there is lots to keep you busy.
There is too much to mention but I do have a wonderful Book in the villa with all excursions, beaches and restaurants on the Island. There are many superb beaches. A popular sightseeing trip is "Fire Mountain" in Timanfaya. This is the national volcanic park where you can actually be driven around on a coach to view the aftermath of the volcano and eat a meal cooked on the rocks heated by the smouldering lava.
The Playa Blanca / Faro Park area
Playa Blanca is the "Lands End" of Lanzarote. It was once a fishing village but now is a bustling town with many bars, shops and typical Spanish restaurants. There is a Port in the main part of town where you can take a ferry to visit one of the other Islands (Fuerteventura) but I feel sure you wil want to stay in Lanzarote as there is so much to see. Our villa is in Faro Park, Faro de Pechiguera (which means the Lighthouse). Villa Rosa was built in 2002 and is in a new area which is growing and providing more facilities and activities for the holidaymaker to enjoy. As mentioned we have the advantage of being very close to the Sea and local shops. If you enjoy walking along the coastal path not surrounded by lots of people this is ideal for you. You can walk along the coastal path until you arrive at an excellent restaurant for breakfast. Or you can keep walking until you arrive in main Playa Blanca and get a taxi home if it is too hot to walk back. Excellent fishing close to the Villa. Bicycle hire available within 20 minutes walk of villa.

Guestbook for Villa Rosa
Just a short note to say we had a wonderful time in Lanzarote in your beautiful villa. The location of the villa and the way you have furnished it must make it one of the best rentals in the area, we feel very clever that we found you!
Both my sons enjoyed your pool and it was fantastic having the added bonus of the big communal pool next door to the villa which we had all to ourselves a great percentage of the time!
I have already recommended you to family and it is a holiday we would like to repeat ourselves
Thank you again

Hi Pauline,
We wanted to just wite and say how we enjoyed staying at Villa Rosa between Sept 4th-11th 2008
The villa is lovely and the moment we drove up and entered, we couldn't believe how nice it looked. The area is great and peaceful and sitting by the pool in 30 degree sunshine made our holiday that little bit better than the dull English days!
So thankyou again for your kindness and allowing us to stay there; we'll look forward to staying there in the future and certainly recomend to our friends and family.
We thought the information pack at the coffee table was very useful and we found plenty of nice restrurants and places to visit.

"We have just returned from 3 weeks at Villa Rosa and though the weather wasn't at its best we really enjoyed our stay. We have rented many villas and Villa Rosa has got to rate as one of our favourites. The villa is exactly as described in the write up. It is very well equipped and caters for every possible requirement. Being very clean, well maintained and tastefully furnished and decorated it was so pretty and welcoming. Without repeating previous reviewers comments we readily endorse everything that has been written. We couldn't actually fault anything which is amazing really. In our view a rental car is a definite MUST as the nearest beaches are too far to walk on a regular basis although a nice promenade with rocky shoreline is only 2/3 minutes walk from the villa. Within 5 minutes walk is the parade of shops including a general grocers and cafes that provide good home made meals if you can't be bothered cooking or travelling further afield. We loved everything about the villa, highly recommend it and hope to return."

Perfect place to be volcano-stranded!!
Date of Stay: April 2010
We had a great time here and really enjoyed the pool, location and local cafe. A car is essential. The villa was really sizeable for just 4 people and we alternated eating in the dining room and outside. The garden and pool are very private with mature plants and high walls doing a good job. It is very child-friendly. And if you want a longer, more taxing swim, or just a change of scene, try the communal pool just next to the villa - it's a beautiful, clean pool and not that busy - though be prepared for a severe temperature drop!! Fine after a couple of laps tho!!
Was great to have the washing machine available, especially when we had to spend an extra 6 days here due to an erupting volcano. Thanks so much to Owner and caretaker for taking care of us and for being so flexible.
Like some other reviewees, we loved the Greek restaurant next to Hotel Rubicon, but also ventured to Marina Rubicon where we discovered a superb Italian overlooking the Marina
We will definitely recommend this location and villa to others.

Our date of holiday 31st March to 7th April 2011
We had a perfect holiday. The villa was superb. It's hard holidaying with a toddler but because the villa was so well equipped it really was a home from home but much better because of the weather and the pool. It's fair to say, you really have thought of everything!!!
We really do hope to return later in the year.
The villa and pool were immaculate.
I cooked every evening, all the kitchen equipment worked, and as far as I could see there was plenty of utensils, china, saucepans etc I was never short of anything.
We had a wonderful, relaxing holiday.
Hope to be in touch to book another week soon!!!!!!!
