Completed early 2005, Casa Bocayna stands in private, walled gardens in a small development of privately owned villas called La Goleta.
The villa is furnished to a very high standard and enjoys the benefits of a private, electrically heated swimming pool set in a large terrace with secure walled gardens. There is English satellite TV providing 36 quality English channels, including 3 movie channels and 3 sports channels.
La Goleta is situated at the foot of Montana Roja, a stunning red mountain which is an extinct volcano. A short walk will allow access to several bars, restaurants, 2 small supermarkets and 2 coffee bars so there are plenty of places to go in the evening without having to drive.
There is also a bus service that provides easy access to all the local amenities. The loop route stops a few hundred metres from Casa Bocayna and runs every 30 minutes from 06:50 to 22:20. The fare is €1.15 regardless of where you get on or off.
The resorts of Playa Flamingo and Playa Blanca are only a couple of minutes away by car or bus and the fabulous beaches of Papagaya can be reached in about 10 minutes by car or the furthest reach of the bus route.
The Playa Blanca area boasts many fine restaurants so you can spend many nights at Casa Bocayna without dining at the same one twice, although we know there are many you'll want to return to. There is a list of recommended restaurants in the villa complete with telephone numbers should you wish to book in advance.

The gardens are completely enclosed by volcanic rock walls and have been planted to provide very pretty surroundings to the pool and terrace areas.
There is a private parking bay with a gate to the rear of the property and easy access to the front door.

The Lanzarote region
Lanzarote is the most Northerly of the Canary Islands. Situated only 60 miles from the coast of the Northern Sahara, it enjoys an almost perfect climate all the year round.
The Playa Blanca / Montana Roja area
There are several bars and restaurants within a 3 - 15 minute walk. The coastal area around La Goleta is rocky and without a beach in the immediate vicinity. The rocky costline has a block promenade allowing for very enjoyable walks above the waves crashing on the rocks below. The sunset from the South West tip is absolutely stunning.
Playa Blanca is an old fishing village and provides many shops, restaurants and bars. There are fabulous views over the bay from the many waterfront restaurants.
Marina Rubicon is just a short way around the coast from Playa Blanca and boats some of the island's best restaurants and exclusive shops.

Flights from the UK to Arrecife (Lanzarote's airport) take 3.5 - 4 hours. The villa is approximately 30 minutes drive from the airport and we can help you with car hire, or arrange transfers by minibus for you if you wish not to have a car.
The majority of flights from the UK are on Thursdays and this is why the majority of property on Lanzarote is only available Thursday to Thursday. We are happy for you to arrive on any day that is convenient for you and we are also happy to rent for any period.

Just perfect for a quiet and extremely comfortable retreat for some winter sunshine! Villa is large, clean and nicely furnished. It is a good 15 minutes walk to the sea-front, though, and 30 minutes to any kind of beach. No shops in the vicinity either. |

Casa Bocayana is indeed a very comfortable and well equipped villa that is immaculately maintained. The owners were entirely straight forward and efficient in their dealings with us.The support service we received on the island was of the highest standard: we asked for help with the pool and received it within half an hour; the mid stay clean was well done and those concerned were friendly and helpful. We loved the fact the villa was so clean and well presented. Clearly the owners take real pride in it and work hard to ensure their guests enjoy their stay. The inside furnishings were all good and the firm double bed was so much better than the soft, saggy beds that often feature in rental properties. We slept well and comfortably! A car is an absolute essential with this property. Walking to shops restaurants, or beach is not an option- distances and times are significant. Parking is easy so this is not an issue but it does mean families will be sticking together during their holiday. We were surprised that the satellite tv system was limited to the local Spanish system so there was no English reception apart from a news channel. Take some videos and also some cds for the sound system and this is not an issue. Our only real disappointment was the significant lack of privacy when outside. The property is in the midst of a development and the surrounding walls are low meaning the garden and pool are overlooked by neighbouring properties and passers by. This felt particularly strange as we lay beside the pool. However, we enjoyed eating al fresco. There is a covered dining area at the side of the house which is rather more private. It has a magnificent table and fine barbecue. It is a real bonus and provides a comfortable place to read outside in the warm evenings. We have been visiting Lanzarote for many years and Playa Blanca has changed dramatically in that time. It is no longer a fishing village. It is a large developed seaside resort which has been extended to include many developments with thousands of villas. We still enjoy it- it is indeed served by many fine restaurants; the long tarmaced promenades which now exist follow the coastline providing delightful seaside walks. The beaches at Papagayo remain world class. We will visit Lanzarote again and would be pleased to stay in Casa Bocayna. |

Directions to the villa were very easy. The quality of the villa was fantastic and a credit to the owners. The Owners reps couldn't have been more helpful, but were not intrusive. Lots to do and places to explore, (When we could extract our son from the swimming pool. ) Playa Blanca was a very friendly cosmopolitan area and a pleasure to visit, very easy to drive around and plenty of taxis available. |
