The Canary Islands region
With Lanzarote being only 100km from the African coast, you can be sure of good weather all year round, with temperatures ranging from about 20-30 degrees centigrade.
As with other islands in the Canaries, Lanzarote is volcanic in origin, with the last eruptions in the 18th and 19th centuries, which can be clearly seen throughout the Island.
The artist, Cezar Manrique was a major influence on Lanzarote, not just in his art, which you will see everywhere, but also in persuading the Government that there should be no high rise buildings, which makes Lanzarote more pleasing to the eye, unlike other Canarian Islands.
There is much to see and do whilst you are in Lanzarote, some of our favourite places include the Cactus garden, Jameous del Aqua, Lag-O-mar, Teguise market, Famara and Puerto Calero to name just a few.
Playa Blanca is our favourite town in Lanzarote, hence why we bought the villa here, and also live here!.There are some wonderful beaches, safe and with loads of activities to enjoy. There is also the world famous Papagayo beaches, totally non-commercial, and the best on the island.
There are many bars and restaurants in the town, too many perhaps to try them all, but give it a go all the same!
Running parallel to the sea front prom, there is a pedestrianized area, again with many shops and restaurants.
Just along the coast from the town, you will find the Marina Rubican. as well as many moored yachts there, you will find designer shops, bars and restaurants, and also a market on Wednesday and Saturday.
There is now a brand new Water Park, and only 5 minutes drive away from the Villa, brilliant for all the Family.
There are many places to hire cars and bikes, as well as companies who do Island excursions. In Las Coloradas you can hire Segways for a few hours fun.
You can also have lessons in Diving, Sailing and even free Zumba for Villa guests! .

You can be assured of a very warm welcome from Ann and Mike if you choose to stay at this Villa. The Villa itself is spotless and spacious and would suit either a group of friends or a family. Close to the bus route that will take you into Town or to the Marina. The local restaurants were very good and there is a supermarket close by. My sister and myself really enjoyed our stay there and hope we can get to go back again one day.

"Excellent service from the owners!"
Arrived late at night to be met by the owners, Ann and Mike, who showed us around Villa Elizabeth and explained the locality.. then presented us with a bottle of Champagne to toast our holiday!
Very well equipped villa located in a quiet area outside Playa Blanca town. Excellent bakery and nice restaurants locally but we enjoyed going into Playa Blanca for several evening meals.
The pool was great and just the right temperature surrounded by plenty of space for us to chill on the sunbeds. We also enjoyed early morning coffee overlooking Montana Roja and the seascape over to Fuerteventura from the private balcony/terrace of the master bedroom.
Relaxing family holiday made all the more special by the excellent service from the owners. Thank you again!

"Total relaxation in the perfect location."
We as a family have stayed at this villa 3 times in the past so knew what to expect from our holiday and we were not disappointed. We had an extended rental of four weeks on this occasion as it was my wife's retiral holiday of choice. For the first two weeks our son, his fiancée and our daughter stayed with us and they had the bedrooms on the ground floor while we stayed in the palatial en suite bedroom upstairs with the large and private balcony.
While the villa itself is roomy and comfortable its the pool area that makes these holidays. A lovely spacious patio, good sized pool, hot tub, big proper barbeque and two outside eating areas. A sun bed for everyone, no need to get up and put a towel down!
There are lots of villas and residential complexes all around Playa Blanca but for us Faro Park beats them all. Local supermarkets, a bakery, pubs and really good restaurants all 5 minutes walk round the corner from the villa. There is a local bus service too, every half hour 1.35 euro flat fare to take you into town or out to the terminus at the Papagayo area.
We always hire a car too for seeing the island, going to the bigger supermarkets in town and going into town for dinner at night, we park at the ferry port. Taxi back to the villa costs under 6 euros and then the next day walk in along the lovely paved coastal path (about 3 miles/ 5 kilometres) passing some big hotels, beaches and watering holes along the way(if needed), also views to Fuerteventura.
Playa Blanca itself is in our view the best resort on the island. Lots of lovely restaurants and bars and shops and its own town beach. Recommend going into town about lunch time and sitting at a seafront bar with a drink and just watch the people. Its smaller and not as busy as Costa Teguise and Puerto del Carmen.
Then finally there is the lovely Mike and Ann who look after you so well. They provided a customised music cd for us which will forever remind us of our great holiday.
We will return for sure.
