Villa Bella Vista
About the home
In a prime location, Bella Vista has 3 double bedrooms with 2 bathrooms which will comfortably sleep 6.
The villa has a modern, contemporary feel with a fully fitted kitchen with Bosch appliances and a lounge area with flat screen HD TV and a SKY HD satellite system upgraded to receive BBC1/2, ITV, Channels 4/5 and Irish channels .
A DVD player and DVD library are also available but don't forget to bring your favourites; in the dining area there is a Hi-Fi system with ipod dock. The villa also has free wi-fi internet access.
From the terrace off the master bedroom the views to Fuerteventura are breathtaking and it is the perfect place for late afternoon drinks or a peaceful place to read a book.
Accessed from the lounge, the spacious patio with it's sofas, dining furniture and sun loungers have been designed to provide both sun and shade from dawn until dusk. Just sit and relax, dine alfresco or make the most of the sun. The recently astro turfed garden gives plenty more space for relaxing or for the little ones to play.
The villa is situated in a complex of 48 villas with a shared pool which is perfect for that refreshing swim or for sunbathing on the extensive terrace areas. Or if you prefer, just enjoy the privacy and tranquility of your own terraces and garden.
Bella Vista is located close to the 5* Hotel Volcan Lanzarote and a 5 minute walk from the exclusive Marina Rubicon with its many yachts and boats. Here you will find an excellent selection of bars, restaurants and boutiques. From here you can take the water taxi to the Old Town and the Papagayo beach reserve. A bowling alley, shopping centre and supermarket are set back behind the Marina. Other supermarkets can be found in the opposite direction towards Papagayo and also in the Old Town. On Wednesdays and Saturdays the Marina is bustling with the bi-weekly market.
The villa is a 20 minute stroll from the Playa Dorada beach, and a further 5 minute walk takes you to the town of Playa Blanca with its many bars, restaurants and shops where a typical Canarian welcome can be found.
All amenities are easily accessible on foot and without crossing busy roads.
Ferries run on a regular daily basis from the Old Harbour at Playa Blanca to Fuerteventura. Playa Blanca itself boasts one of the longest coastal paths in Europe running from the Papagayo beach reserve to the east to the El Faro (the lighthouse) on the western side. The path is situated approximately 40metres in front of the villa - a 1 minute walk away.

Enquire nowThe Lanzarote region
Lanzarote is situated just 79 miles off the coast of Africa and enjoys a mild dry climate with day time temperatures averaging between 21 degrees celsius in January and 28 degrees celsius in August. Annual rain fall is just 140 mm (5.5 inches) which makes Lanzarote the perfect all year round destination.
There are many places of interest which are well worth a visit including both Arrecife (the islands capital) and the Timanfaya national park. Arrecife is the islands main seaport and shopping centre. Arrecife has a picturesque hub, which is concentrated around El Charco; the main seafront promenades and parks also boast an interesting historical heritage.
The Timanfaya national park is a 20 minute drive from the Villa and was declared a national park in 1974. The Montanas del Fuego (Fire mountains) were created during 1730 and 1736 when more than 100 volcanos rose up and devastated this part of the island. The last eruption was in 1824. The area is a 'must' for any visitor to the island because of its unique 'martian' landscape and its rare plant species. Whilst it is not possible to roam around the park freely a coach trip is included in the price of entry. The El Diablo Restaurant, designed by Cesar Manrique provides an impressive backdrop, the food is cooked using geothermal heat (grilled over a barbecue using the natural heat from the volcano). You can also take a camel ride across the parkland and the Spanish national parks authority have recently launched two free guided walks along routes in the park.
The Playa Blanca / Marina Rubicon area
Playa Blanca was once a small fishing village but has now been developed into Lanzarotes second most popular resort. Playa Blanca is a favourite with families and couples whereas those seeking an all-night party head for Puerto Del Carmen. The resort has a seafront promenade with many shops and restaurants. The resort is mainly low density comprising of bungalows and villas and a few large luxury hotels. The shopping area is pedestrianised and the taxi rank is located by this area with a taxi back to the villa costing only 3 euros.
A recent development in Playa Blanca is the exclusive Marina Rubicon with its many bars, restaurants and boutiques against a backdrop of boats and yachts. Here you can enjoy a leisurely drink at Vino Blanco or Cafe del Mar or dine at one of the many restaurants or tapas bars. There is something for everyone with Lanis and Little Italy being a favourite for families whereas both Casa Roja and Casa Brigida offer typical Canarian food.
Activities for children including a crazy golf course and bowling alley can also be found in this area with a pitch and putt course a further 5 minute walk at the Hotel Hesperia (Playa Dorada). 'Kikoland' is a children club and activity area next to the Playa Dorada beach, so If you want to lie in the sun and relax for a while leave the children here to be entertained. There is also a childrens play area in the 'Los Colorados' area near Ropers supermarket which is a pleasant 10 minute walk from the villa. A new water park opened in Summer 2012 and is situated near to the Hotel Timanfaya Palace.
There are many restaurants, bars and cafes in Playa Blanca and at the Marina Rubicon so all tastes and budgets are easily catered for. However, if you want to explore a little further afield and sample some real Canarian cuisine try visiting the small local villages such as Femes and Las Brenas.
There are several supermarkets in Playa Blanca and the surrounding area, with Hyperdino being a 5 minute walk in the direction of Papagayo from the villa.
Taxis are easily available and a regular bus service runs throughout the resort. Bike hire is also available from many of the car hire companies.
The Castillo de las Colorados is the most important historic building in Playa Blanca and can be seen from the villa. The tower is located just to the east of the Marina Rubicon and was built to defend the island from pirate attack.
The nearest beach is the Playa Dorada beach which is situated a 15-20 minute walk from the villa in front of the Princessa Yaiza hotel, both watersports and sunloungers are available here for a small cost. In the opposite direction you will find the beautiful unspoilt Papagayo beach reserve which can be accessed on car, via the water taxi or on foot.
A 15 minute drive takes you to Puerto Calero which is a must for the boat and yacht enthusiasts! Perfect for a leisurely lunch or the ideal place to book a fishing trip or a trip on the 'yellow submarine'.

What a wonderful villa that was so tastefully decorated and so well maintained. It had all the facilities you could want for your holiday. It was cleaned on the second week with fresh linen and towels by the lovely Lisa who was extremely helpful. The rear garden faced the sea and was beautifully laid with a tiled patio and an artificial lawn bordered with shrubs. Plenty of garden tables and sun chairs and a place to shade when the sun was too hot.Whilst staying there we had a number of people enquire about the villa and how to rent it It was ideally situated for the Marina Rubicon which was a leisurely stroll along the promenade. We had a lovely time and have now booked again for next year. Many thanks Catherine, for allowing us to rent your villa and we would have no hesitation recommending it to our friends and family. Just got back from a lovely visit to Playa Blanca and I am writing to say it was a pleasure to stay in such a lovely home, everything you needed for a wonderfull week away this villa had, from the very first e mail I sent to the owners to the day we had to go home was perfect, unfortunatly my mother in law took ill during our visit but in no way could this be retract from a wonderfull stay. It was so lovely to wake up and have a drink on the balcony while looking out over the ocean, and to relax in the lovely garden, and so close to the Marina where there are so many nice places to eat or sit in the sun with a glass of wine, all in all a lovely holiday home and one in which I would have no problem in returning . |
