Villa Mariposa is built in the traditional Catalan style.

Villa Mariposa is our private villa where we lived for two years and now holiday every summer with our friends.
We have renovated it to a high standard whilst retaining its Catalan character. The bedrooms are situated in one wing of the villa the living areas in the other, this layout ensures cool rooms in the summer months.

The villa is on one level in an L shape with a level garden which is ideal for children to play. The large covered terrace which overlooks the large swimming pool and garden is perfect for dining al fresco in the the midday heat. It is also well lit for evening dining.

You can enjoy the stunning views of the area as you take the five minute drive down the hillside to the nearest towns of Platja D’Aro and S'Agaro.

The Costa Brava/Catalonia region

This diverse region matches extraordinary natural beauty with a rich cultural heritage. The coastline is enchantingly serpentine - Cost Brava means rugged coast. Spurs of the Pyrenees form wild sea cliffs hiding secluded coves punctuated by extensive stretches of sandy beaches.

Catalonia is full of character and charm and gives the visitor a real feel of traditional Spain. Costa Brava has an incredible mixture of large seaside towns, pretty historical villages, fascinating market towns which offer the freshest produce, and vast open spaces, green and mountainous which are perfect for exploring by car bike or foot!. There are many traditional towns and villages within a short distance of the villa offering their own cuisine and wares.

Platja D'Aro / S'Agaro / Mas Nou Residencia area

Platja D'Aro boasts a unique combination of designer shopping with traditional restaurants and bars whilst offering the visitor typical holiday attractions such as a waterpark and amusement park. Activities are many including tennis close to the villa, horse riding, quad biking, mountain biking, mini golf and go karting.

The holiday maker can choose between a relaxing evening wining and dining on the beach front or dancing the night away in the local night clubs, although our favourite evening after a long sunny day is dinner on the terrace of Villa Mariposa!

The long sandy beach offer a full range of water sports and a marina. Explorers will delight in the rocky coves and smaller beaches along the coast from Sant Felieu to Palamos.
Mas Nou has a well equipped 18 and separate 9 hole golf course with a driving range, shop and restaurant bar. There are pictureque views of the surrounding area from each fairway. The golf course is a two minute drive from the villa.
Girona is the nearest major city with its historical old town, Cathedral and Ramblas.
Further afield Barcelona is little over an hours drive or a convenient train ride south whilst to the North is the French border at Perpignan, less than an hours drive.

* Car hire available from www.carjet.co.uk and many agents in Girona airport.
* Local buses run regularly between the airport and the town.
* Local taxis at reasonable prices.
* We recommend car hire for our villa.

Mainline Railway - Caldes de Malvella 20 min. A direct line to Barcelona.
Platja D'Aro Centre and Beach - 5 minutes.
Car hire is essential.
