Les Plantades has been recently renovated to a comfortable standard. With a double and a twin room and a sofa bed in the lounge, the property comfortably accommodates up to 6 people.
On the borders of the Artense Plateau, the house is perfectly placed for a countryside holiday with all the outdoor sports and activities just on your doorstep.
The Limousin / Auvergne / Puy-de-Dome region
The Auvergne is a fantastic place for a holiday whatever the time of year. It is a region of clean air, fresh water and mountains. There is everything for the outdoor enthusiast, a totally relaxing atmosphere and all the culture and shopping you could wish for in Clermont Ferrand and Issoire. The church architecture is particularly interesting and the spa towns such as La Bourboule and Mont Dore are well worth a visit. The climate of the region is one of proper seasons - Autumn is a fabulous time to visit as the trees turn red and gold and auburn, Summer is warm and sunny, and Winter offers great skiing in the resort of Super Besse. In Spring the fields are full of wild flowers and poppies. There is enough space for everyone to have a wonderful time.
Plantades area
Les Plantades is a in a very peaceful hamlet just 5km from Tauves and just 15km from the beautiful spa town of La Bourboule with its thermal centre. La Bourboule is also famous for ite Belle Epoque architecture . It has a number of bars and restaurants and is a very lively place in Summer and Winter. Situated on the edge of the Artense Plateau and surrounded by trees and nature, Les Plantades is in a peaceful, calm location and yet just minutes by car from many local places of interest and activity in the Massif du Sancy. The Chateau du Val offers an insight into the history of the region and the surrounding area is crisscrossed with walking, horseriding and cycling trails. .n Summer there are numerous markets and Brocantes. Les Plantades is just 25 minutes drive from the ski resort of Le Mont Dore
How to get there
The Auvergne is about 7 hours drive from the port of Calais. Low cost airlines fly to Limoges ( 2 1/2 hours by car) and Rodez ( 3 hours by car). There is a train station in Clermont Ferrand ( 50 minutes by car) with car hire facilities close by.

Further details indoors: Les Plantades is a cosy cottage with a wood burning stove thus making it the perfect holiday choice in either Winter or Summer. As it is all on one level it is suitable for people of limited mobility.
Further details outdoors: The house has a terrace to the front , a lovely spot for al fresco dining. The large garden at the back ( enclosed on three sides) is a great play area for younger children.
