Katafigio is ideally situated for a relaxing holiday in the countryside of the Apokoronas region of Western Crete overlooking the picturesque village of Plaka and Souda Bay beyond.
Furnished to a very high standard with every modern convenience essential for a relaxing family holiday. It stands in its own fenced and gated private mature gardens.
Lounge leads onto a pretty sun soaked terrace with barbecue, table, chairs and loungers surrounded by bougainvillea, hibiscus and fig - ideal for a relaxing stay. The villa is also ideal for families with plenty to do in the area.

The Crete region
Crete is the largest of the Greek islands, the most southerly outpost of Europe in the Aegean Sea, Being 260 km from East to West and varying in width between 12 to 57 km, it is dominated by 3 mountain ranges with fertaile plains between producing plantations of oranges, palms, olives, bananas and vineyards. While the South coast for the most part falls steeply down to the sea, the North coast is faltter and more indented. On the North Coast are Chania , the islands capital Heraklion and Rethymnon.
The climate is mediterranean with relatively mild and wet winters and completely dry summers. Western Crete has the magnificent snowcapped mountains Lefka Ori which quite often are still snowcapped into June!
Plaka, Crete / Apokoronas area
PLAKA Katafigio overlooks the traditional picturesque Plaka village and Souda Bay and the Akrotiri peninsula beyond. There are four excellent tavernas (some with internet access) along with two mini-markets and an extenisvely stocked supermarket. The authentic food served in the tavernas of Plaka square, along with the atmosphere is as good as you will find anywhere on the island. ALMERIDA BEACH A few minutes drive is the gently shelving Blue Flag sandy beach of Almerida, complete with sailboat hire, dive school, fish restaurant, tavernas, internet cafe and shops. KALIVES BEACH Another few minutes drive takes you to Kalives. where there is a beautiful sandy beach, small harbour, 3 banks, post office, many tavernas and shops.
How to get there
AIRPORTS - Nearest is CHANIA 23 km away.
HERAKLION airport about 150 kms and is served by Easyjet and Jet2.com. One long National Highway from Heraklion to Kalives.
SOUDA FERRY PORT is the nearest ferry 15 km away, easily reached from Athens Piraeus and other Greek islands.

Further details indoors: The villa has been furnished to a high standard with a convenient open plan layout downstairs with French windows leading onto the open patio area for dining al fresco.
Through the front door there is a covered patio area. There is air-conditioning to the ground floor.Upstairs there is a double bedded room and a twin bedded room, both having air-conditioning and ceiling fans and French doors leading onto a small balcony.
There are two shower-rooms with toilets and washbasins one upstairs and one downstairs. All linen, towels and duvets are provided.
The property has an EOT licence being registered with the Greek Tourist Board which maintains accommodation standards. Fire equipment is provided on both floors.
Further details outdoors: Katafigio is conveniently placed with the 40 sq.m. pool up a few steps and behind the villa. The furnished covered or open patios offer a choice of sun or shade throughout the day.
The colourful private open patio is ideal for sunbathing or eating. The villa has binoculars to enable you to watch the passing shipping, including the odd submarine!

All prices are per week in UK pounds and include a welcome pack of basic groceries and wine for your first day, all utility bills, linen, towels, air-conditioning and use of cot and safe, as well as a weekly maid service.
Conditions
A deposit of £100 is required on booking, with the balance being paid 8 weeks prior to departure.
Smoking is strictly forbidden in the Villa and we would hope you would respect that.
