The Fife region
Fife is the smallest of Scotland's regions, yet it provides the visitor with no shortage of things to do! Whether you are interested in history, culture, cuisine, sport or pure relaxation, there is something in Fife for all.
In Fife you will find some of the country's best kept beaches, Scotland's oldest university town and the worlds 'home of golf' in St Andrews, the delightful East Neuk fishing villages including Elie, St Monans, Pittenweem and Crail, as well as the historic capital of Dunfermline to name but a few. And what's more, not only will you discover a relaxing, refreshing, friendly and high quality environment, but it's all just 1 hour away from Edinburgh.
Fife is a popular holiday destination for golfers and nature lovers as well as being a haven for cyclists with many of the tourist attractions being approachable via the cycle ways. And for those keen on walking, there is the Fife Coastal Path.
The Pittenweem area
A picturesque fishing village, with narrow wynds running down to the working harbour, Pittenweem’s unique atmosphere has attracted many artists over the years.
Frequently shown in paintings, Pittenweem presently has about thirty artists resident in the village and more in the surrounding chain of small villages set along this lovely coastline, known as the East Neuk of Fife.
Pittenweem Arts Festival 2012 - Saturday 28th July to Sunday August 5th.

We arrived in a howling gale and driving rain. The house was modern, warm and welcoming, brightly lit and with a christmas tree twinkling away in the living room. All rooms were well decorated, tastefully furnished and very well-equipped. Downstairs has double room with en-suite, small room with adult-sized bunks, large modern shower room and twin room. Upstairs is open plan lounge, dining, kitchen. Comfortable lounge area has french doors with lovely view of the sea and the Isle of May and Fife Coastal Walk right in front of the house. Would highly recommend.

Beautifully furnished and spotlessly clean house. Well equipped with everything you need for a week away. We had a lovely week exploring the Fife area (sometimes by bike!) Great location, nice walks from your doorstep with shops and a nice, friendly pub within a few minutes walk. We enjoyed evening stolls around the harbour ( and lovely ice-creams in the daytime!) The views from the comfortable & spacious living area were amazing- whatever the weather!! We loved it so much we took the opportunity to stay on an extra night, would definitely return - thanks for everything Elsie!!

We had a lovely time with our 7 year old boy. We were very lucky with the weather too and enjoyed the lovely views from the sitting room window.
Everything is catered for. TV with freeview upstairs and in bedroom downstairs. We could also get Wifi which was great to catch up on emails. All kitchen essentials. Elsie had also provided us with soaps, shower gel and loads of towels! even biscuits were left for us when we arrived!
My parents came to stay for one night and loved it also.
We are going back in June when hopefully we will get some good weather!
