Squirrel Cottage is known for its comfort with many repeat bookings each year. It sleeps two in double or twin beds, the bedroom is spacious, a large sun room over looks the garden. Shower and a separate bath. Many guests comment on all the extras.
Squirrel Cottage has lots of wildlife. Regular visits by Red Squirrels that will amuse and entertain you. Lots of birds at feeders, particularly the bedroom feeder which is only feet away from the window, many guests comment on how wonderful it is. There is the occasional roe deer, and rare visits by Pine martins. We are currently setting up a pine martin feed station in an attempt to attract pine martins at times when guests can view them See this on Squirrel Cottage Face Book Page.
Full oil fired central heating throughout and wood pellet fire allows for extra heating in the living room. Heating and electric charged at cost (no mark up - you pay exactly what we pay); we feel this is the fairest way to do this, as some people spend lots of time in Squirrel Cottage while others are out most of the time. We do not feel it is fair for low users to subsidizing high users. Hope you agree!
Sleeps two, but it is NOT suitable for children under 16 years of age on account of the steep river bank and we keep it free of all animals for those with allergies. It is for non smokers, inside and outside.

Thank you very much for your fantastic comments giving an insight in to your experience of staying at Squirrel Cottage, the wildlife and the area. The couple who are currently staying in Squirrel Cottage have brought their wild life camera trap plus the loan of our own camera trap, I am delighted to report that they have been able to capture the pine-marten marking their territory around the cottage at night - a real first! What we enjoy so much, is the added dimension all our guests bring while staying, as each adds their own unique perspective to the Squirrel Cottage experience. Thank you very much for giving your time to sharing your stay. Kathleen and James.

Just spotted this, another really fabulous review. Thank you so much. Thank you for highlighting that Squirrel cottage and the area is a great place to stay, even in the depths of winter, with 33 different species of birds and animals spotted and lots of good walks. It was a real pleasure having you both to stay in Squirrel Cottage and yes we very much see you as our guests. Your write up on the Scottish Wild Cat was a real delight to read and we have shared it with the Cairngorm National Park authority, as they try to establish all locations of the species.
