The Perth and Kinross region
Pitlochry lies in it's own valley, sheltered by low lying Fonab/Clunie hills to the South, Ben Y Vrackie to the North & the pass of Killiekrankie to the West. The climate is mild, the scenery beautiful at any time of the year.
Visitors to Pitlochry itself can swim, fish, golf, hike, cycle, canoe/kayak/boat, go putting on the small green off Atholl Road, play tennis at the Atholl Palace or just sight see our town. The local highlights include our Dam & salmon ladder, festival theatre, 3 distilleries, the ancient hamlet of Moulin with heritage centre, crusader grave, punishment tree & the Black castle.
Within easy reach are Blair Atholl, Braemar, Dunkeld, Rannoch Moor, and lochs galore.
Visitors here enjoy highland nights on Mondays in our recreation park by the River Tummel, and children can play safely in numerous parks.
Pitlochry is the perfect base, for car, rail or even coach travellers. We are within about an hour of Edinburgh, Inverness, Braemar/Balmoral & even the Loch Ness & Fort William area.
The main line scot rail trains travel directly through Pitlochry
