Villa Morelli Gualtierotti
Villa | 8 bedrooms | sleeps 16
The house is an early 20th century Art Nouveau building recently restored according to its original style, with care and attention to every detail. It is situated in a peaceful hamlet, surrounded by a large park with ancient beech and oak trees, in a dominant position upon a hill overlooking a lush valley.
The villa used to belong to an important politician, Mr. Gismondo Morelli Gualtierotti, who was Minister at the time of the Kingdom of Italy and President of the Province of Florence. This building was designed by the same architect of the Supreme Court palace in Rome. The façade's Art Nouveau style was very trendy at the time but quite unusual in a green rural area such as the Apennines of Pistoia. My father and I decided to buy this building on the purpose of welcoming tourists from all over the world. We turned it in a holiday villa in 2009 and decided to offer wide common areas and all modern comforts, such as ensuite bedrooms, a fully equipped kitchen, indoor and outdoor dining spaces, a large living room and a very pleasant swimming pool.
Behind the Palazzo, the beautiful private grounds lead to the swimming pool area, enriched with contemporary sculptures made of Carrara marble. This unique location provides endless outdoor opportunities such as walking excursions, mountain bike and horse riding. The villa is located 20 minutes from the medieval town of Pistoia (where you can find highway and railway connections to Florence and the other interesting destinations of Tuscany) at the begining of the Apennine Mountains region, so that our villa may be an ideal base for tourists interested in visiting the famous tuscan art cities as well as for nature lovers, aiming to discover the Apennines' beautiful landscapes in all seasons.
My father and I are both passionate travelers and this helps us to empathize with the potential demands of our guests. You can find more information, larger photogalleries and travelers' reviews on our website www.villamorelli-tuscany.com
We are truely committed to your satisfaction and looking forward to welcoming you to our properties!

All the different rooms are furnished with an astonishing combination of original ancient furniture, Bauhaus style pieces and some contemporary design elements.

The Tuscany region
Tuscany is certainly one of the best known among the Italian regions. It is the land of the Renaissance's capital city, Florence, as well as of many other beautiful medieval towns and villages. It is worldwide famous for the beautiful sweet hills and for the excellence of its wines and food products.
All the different areas of Tuscany represent a world to discover for their natural peculiarities, for the widespread architectural wealth, for the gastronomic traditions and the many folkloric and cultural events.
I will be glad to give you all the needed information to get rapidly acquainted with our area. At check in, I will also provide you with useful maps, brochures and local guides.
Visitors to the Pistoia Apennines can enjoy its well preserved natural environment and breathtaking views. So it was for the iconic actor and philanthropist Paul Newman who chose to locate in this area, next to a WWF reserve, its Dynamo Camp, a center of recreational therapy for children with serious illnesses.
The area is a perfect destination for those who love all kinds of outdoor sports: the mountains are rich with trails for walking, mountain biking or horseback riding, as well as rivers and lakes for fishing. During the summer, the Pistoia Mountains offer a rich program of cultural and recreational events such as music and folklore festivals, gastronomic fairs and medieval reenactments.
Located 20 minutes from Florence and Lucca, Pistoia also has much to offer in terms of history, art, monuments, traditions, nature and cuisine. Walking through the picturesque streets of its historic center, visitors will find many good restaurants that offer authentic dishes of the Tuscan tradition, as well as local wines, at fair prices. Pistoia also offers one of the major zoological gardens in Italy.
To visit, nearby, Vinci with the Leonardian museum, Montecatini with its thermal baths, the medieval villages of Valdinievole including Collodi, the town of Pinocchio.
During the winter season, our area offers modern downhill and cross-country ski facilities. With over 80 kms of Alpine ski slopes, Abetone is the most important winter resort in Central Italy. Cross-country tracks are located at 15 minute drive from our villa, while downhill slopes can be reached in 30 minutes.
All main facilities (shops, supermarkets, banks with ATM, post offices, pharmacies, hospital) are very closely located (between 1 and 10 km from the property).
We will be glad to give you all the information you need about the location of services and restaurants in our area.
