"I Girasoli"" is a lovely apartment in rustic Tuscan style in a beautiful stone farmhouse which is divided into two completely independent apartments, each with its own private outdoor space.

"I Girasoli"" is on two floors (ground floor kitchen with living room, first floor the master bedroom, bedroom with bunk beds, bathroom with shower), has the privilege of delicious loggia in front of the entrance with table and chairs for relaxing and dining outdoors during the summer.

The farmhouse is completely renovated while preserving some elements typical of the old architecture of the Tuscan countryside (ceilings with wooden beams, terracotta tiles, stone facade ...) that refers to the atmospheres of other times and makes the general atmosphere warm and welcoming. The apartment is furnished and decorated with care and well-equipped to make your stay convenient and comfortable.

On the ground floor of the farmhouse there is a room used as laundry room (shared with the other apartment), a small "museum" of agricultural tools (recovered during the renovations) where we also organized our "tourist office" with maps , books, lists of events to date, recommended restaurants, etc..

We also organize tastings of products from our farm (olive oil, vegetables, wines and delicatessen).

The house is an excellent starting point to visit all the most beautiful cities of Tuscany (from the nearby Lucca, Pisa, Pistoia and Florence to Siena, Arezzo and the whole coast in a day trip), but also to learn about pretty villages medieval less known but worth seeing: Collodi (3 km away) home of Pinocchio, Monte Carlo (suggestive walk about 4 km from our house to reach it, beautiful forests, vineyards and olive groves), Vinci, Barga, Volterra, and Vellano and the ten castles in the mountains above Pescia.

Pescia same, 4 km away, is a beautiful medieval town, where all the facilities are located.

The Tuscany region

A few miles away from the major Tuscan tourist resorts, between Florence, Lucca and Pisa and off the most famous routes, the beautiful landscape, the rich cultural and artistic heritage of the Province of Pistoia reveals itself to explorers via its harmonious natural beauty and artistic masterpieces.

The traveler of a thousand interests is welcomed by the rich variety of attractions the region has to offer: art tours, mountain excursions, spas, conference tourism, green tourism and culinary holidays - all of them any time of the year.

Man's history weaves together with his architecture exciting, inviting vacationers on a journey into the past. The Medieval, Renaissance and Baroque ages speak of their grandeur in the palaces, loggias, and churches of Pistoia and Pescia

Pescia ,in the old medieval town centre we'll visit Palazzo del Vicario, decorated with coats of arms of Florentine vicars, today seat of the Town Hall; The Church of St. Francesco, which has the most autenthic painting on wood of St. Francisc, painted by Bonaventura Berlinghieri; than we'll visit the Church of San Antonio and last The Palagio or Palazzo del Podestà, both beautiful and characteristic buildings of 14th century. From Pescia an eventual excursion to nearby villages offers the discovery of castles and churches equally-rich in historical and artistic detail. Whoever appreciates nature will admire the extraordinary variety of the landscape and natural environments: the rolling hills of the Colline Montalbano and the Svizzera Pesciatina, lush green summers and snow-covered winters, the Padule wetlands in Fucecchio and the Querciola woods in Quarrata.

Sports enthusiasts can ski at the renowned hub in Abetone, cycle or simply enjoy an active vacation in a pleasant and relaxing environment. Those seeking out regeneration body and spirit will find their preferred relaxation and rejuvenation treatments in the famous spas of Montecatini Terme and Monsummano Terme.

Families will delight in the array of options for their children. Perhaps in order is a visit to Collodi, the birthplace of the most famous puppet in the world: Pinocchio.

Gourmands can dedicate themselves to the rediscovery of genuine and authentic flavors, savoring typical local products, dishes and local delicacies, whether in welcoming, small restaurants or during the many local fairs and festivals. Those who prefer to find out more about cultural heritage, religion and folklore will come into close contact with the territory and its millenary history, by way of the many folkloristic traditions, celebrations, events and fairs.

The territory offers numerous opportunities for cultural tourism - from museums, with interesting and rich exhibitions, and cultural events,to musical and theatrical performances, guided tours and much more - in every season. Be sure not to pass up seeing the Ecomuseum of the Pistoia Mountains. Its open-air thematic routes, rich in museums and learning centers, offer a unique look into mountain history, traditions and culture.

"Idyllic setting, lovely rustic cottage"

We have just come back from a wonderful 2wk holiday in Tuscany. It was our first time to Italy so we wanted to explore a large area and found Veneri to be a perfect base for this (we took the train to Florence - 1hr, drove to Siena - 1.5hrs, drove to Pisa - 40 mins, drove to beach - 50mins). The apartment has been beautifully restored - keeping very traditional. Sergio was a perfect host making sure that we were happy and comfortable with the accommodation but also providing excellent recommendations for day-trips. The weather was beautiful and the food/wine was superb! Particularly enjoyed a taster of Sergio's family's home-brew! Looking forward to return as in the 2wks we were there, we still didn't cover everything!!"
