Home description
Situated on a hill and surrounded by an olive grove and a garden with pergola Glicine, Il Poggio is a typically Italian house that was once home to farmers during the olive harvest. With renovation, it has become now an elegant villa ideal for relaxing. Just a few metres away, you will find an Olympic size indoor pool in winter(3 € for day), and tennis(free) courts with a gym.
Thanks to its strategic location near the beach and the sports centre, Il Poggio is the ideal place for a long and relaxing holiday. The villa has easy access to all amenities, including the local market for bargain hunting, and many excellent restaurants for eating out - perfect or those who love Italian cooking and culture! Excellent restaurants in the vicinity include Anima e Core, L'Incontro, Borgo Antico, Il Vecchio Frantoio etc...

Arriving at BariArriving at Bari or Brindisi airport means you have several options of companies who can rent you a car: www.hertz.com www.avis.com www.europcar.com www.e-sixt.com The local airport at Bari, is served via Stanstead, Gatwick and Heathrow airports in the UK. Ryanair, BA and Alitalia have regular daily flights to Bari.
A hire car is certainly a very useful, if not an absolutely essential part of a trip to Basilicata. There are around 12 car hire companies at Bari Airport to choose from.
The car hire cost (as always) depends on the time of year. You can, for example, get a 4 door with air con (space for 4 adults plus baggage) for a week from anything between £60 - £100. This can also be booked through the UK via the companies below.
You can also jump onto the Ryanair web site and follow their link through to Hertz. With this, you will get an immediate quote (for the dates that you are thinking of) and then have at least some idea of what it will cost, before you then contact the other companies either in the UK or at Bari.
