About the home

Nestled above vineyards and facing out to sea, this superb villa will delight couples and friends alike who enjoy uninterrupted sea views and being close to the sea. A small road leads directly from the villa down to the sea (300m), where a superb sandy bathing area, with flat rocks and shingle, give unlimited opportunities for swimming and water sports. The beach and the bay are surrounded by impressive hills, providing a most dramatic backdrop. The villa has its own private garden, sparkling swimming pool and attractive sea views.

Modern in design and built on one floor, the villa has two bedrooms and two bathrooms. The furnishings and fittings are contemporary and provide for a high degree of comfort and convenience.

The villa has a shaded veranda providing the ideal location for hours of idle relaxation and a Cypriot barbecue with an outdoor table and chairs for al-fresco dining. This villa is an ideal choice for couples or a group of friends who want to be close together, but still retain a degree of privacy and independence.

Southern Cyprus has year round sunshine, lovely beaches and a diverse selection of cuisines in addition to the great Cypriot food on offer. With three golf courses within the Paphos/ Pissouri area, Cyprus is an all year round holiday destination.

The Cypriots are truly warm, friendly and welcoming people. The majority speak English.

The Pissouri / Pissouri Bay area

Situated at the south-west of the island, Pissouri has a unique character and charm and is split into two distinct communities, a few minutes apart by car, Pissouri Village and Pissouri Bay. It is difficult to do justice to Pissouri in a few words, it has a unique character and attractiveness as the Cypriot character has been retained and it is still very much a working village of farmers and wine makers.

Villa Maea is a short (300m) walk from the Pissouri beach area and here you can find an informal collection of excellent tavernas, a few small shops, two small supermarkets, a dive centre and a bank. Fresh bread, fruit and meat can be bought here although you may wish to visit the butcher in the village (3kms away!) to buy superb fresh souvlaki or kebabs to BBQ on the patio. A discreet and exclusive 5 star hotel nearby offering jazz brunch on Sundays at their lovely open air restaurant and a beautiful health and beauty spa, open to the public for a daily fee, are also located in the beach area.

Pissouri village is reputed to be the only seaside village in Cyprus which has retained its original architecture and environment. The village itself stands high on a hilltop and the village square that is surrounded be small family run restaurants and cafes, is extremely popular among both locals and foreign visitors. The village has extensive forestland which provides miles for walking in a most pleasant and enjoyable environment.

“Stunning views, home away from home!” I cannot recommend this property highly enough. It was without a doubt the best appointed villa I have ever stayed in - they had thought of EVERYTHING you might possibly need - CD's, DVD's, Books and a thoughtful welcome pack on arrival including all the essentials like milk, bread, water, butter and even a bootle of local white wine! There is a stunning sea view from both patio and pool area and master bedroom, a large lounge and well apointed kitchen (with dishwasher and all those little things that so many annoying villa renters forget - handsoap, washing up liquid, tea towels, cloths, dishwasher tablets, Kitchen towel). The pool was lovely and clean (cleaned every two days while we were there). It is just 100 metres down a steep hill and then 200 metres along a relatively flat road, well lit, to the super market and some lovely restaurants - we really loved Ambrosia and Joanna's supermarket has the best local organic fruit in the area - all grown by local cabbie Chris, who is useful if you need to go to the village for a few beers! The village up the hill is 5 mins drive and has lots of nice restaurants. We also went to the little local amphitheatre and saw some modern dance which was great fun under the stars! Only slight problem was we couldn't get the wifi to work, but you can purchase a code for the local log in details for about £8 so we just did that rather than spend time on the phone to the owner trying to sort it out, so can't really complain!
