About the home

Shells Villa is located at the end of a private road offering additional seclusion and privacy. Just 2 minutes walk, 220 metres from the beach, which boasts various water sports. Quiet and peaceful, yet only 4 minutes' walk from amenities, including the local tavernas which are excellent for eating out (some hold weekly Cypriot nights). It's only a 10 minute drive to Aphrodite Hills/Secret Valley International golf courses.

The villa benefits from it's own very large private pool (12 metres x 6 metres), with a shallow end perfect for the children. The open plan downstairs includes a spacious living room with flat screen LED TV (English Language) . There is a fully furnished kitchen and separate utility room alongwith a separate indoor dining area. There is also a downstairs cloakroom.
Upstairs there are three double bedrooms with stunning sea views, two double bedded rooms which have balconies and one twin bedroom. The villa is ideal for everyone with plenty in the surrounding area to see and do during your stay.
An exceptionally large garden with a generous shaded patio area for outside dining and relaxing. There is access from the rear of the property via a gate to the beach.

The Limassol region

Limassol is a growing town with lots to do and see. Within the town there are local fish markets, traditional shops, a castle and a port allowing holiday makers to take weekend breaks to Rhodes, Egypt, Jordan and Israel.

Cyprus is rich in history, you can visit Kolossi Castle built by the Knights of St John, or take a trip to "the Northside" and see the only divided city in Europe, enjoy a wine tour in the beautiful foothills of the Troodos Mountains, or see the 2000 year old Roman ruins at Currium (Currium also hosts outdoor concerts and theatre in the summer months in the old ampitheatre - not to be missed!.)

Great for walking and exploring the rest of Cyprus either in the cooler mountains of Troodos or Paphos Forest.

Cyprus enjoys a Mediterranean climate hot summers and mild winters.This is a warm and friendly country where the majority of the locals speak good English.

The Pissouri / Pissouri Bay area

The villa is set in Pissouri bay, only 230 metres from the beach. Several very good restaurants including fish restaurant (Yialos) and an excellent Lebanese/Greek fusion restaurant ( Limanaki's) as well as home cooking at the family run Artemis, line the road to the beach. On Friday's during the main season a Cyprus night takes place at the Vineleaf Taverna. The bay also has a Pizzeria. Right on the beach, there is a great value kebab/snack restaurant. Skippers bar usually shows live UK sports on TV screens around the bar. For sports enthusiasts, a water sports centre and diving club are available on the beach. Bicycles can be hired from an office near the main hotel. There are some small gift shops, and a nail, hair and beauty bar within a short walk. A bank and ATM is located within a 5 to 10 minute walk of the villa. There are two small supermarkets within walking distance as well as a larger supermarket within 5 minutes drive, where there is a also a pharmacy.

Pissouri village, a few minutes away by car, is set upon a hilltop some 500 feet above the bay. It is a charming and typical Cypriot village with several tavernas, restaurants and shops. A quaint village square lined with restaurants forms the venue for the local weekly Cyprus night, with Greek dancing and music to entertain diners.

The 5000ft high mountain range of Troodos is a 45 minute drive and Aphrodite's rock is less than 10k away The stunningly designed championship golf courses at Secret Valley and Aphrodite Hills are within a ten minutes' drive.

There are waterparks in Paphos and Fassouri (Limassol) the latter offering the best value for money.

BA, Cyprus Airways, Monarch, Thomson and Easy Jet are the main airlines, although there are many others. Fly to Paphos ideally, as it is only 15 minutes drive away. As an alternative, Larnaca is only an hour and a quarter by car.

Both airports offer good car hire options. www.economycarrentals.com, petsas or holidayautos are all reasonable.

Taxis are available at a reasonable cost (approx 50 euros from Paphos), but as in any country establish the fare first.
From Paphos airport follow the signs for Lemesos on the A6. After ten minutes exit at Pissouri and join the B6 still heading for Lemesos. Follow the sign for Pissouri Bay/Jetty.

From Larnaca airport follow the signs for the A5 then A6 to Paphos. Stay on the A6 through Limassol and until you see the first exit for Pissouri. Join the B6 towards Pissouri. Follow the sign for Pissouri Bay/Jetty

“All round fantastic villa very private and relaxing.” Excellent location, walking distance to the beach and situated at the end of a private road offering additional privacy. Large swimming pool allowing you the opportunity to actually swim! Lovely shaded patio area and fully equiped for our stay. Walking distance to many loacal restaurants and a short drive to the village. The perfect place to relax and unwind. Would definitely book again.

Once again, we had a lovely week, our family wedding at Aphrodite Hills went very well but it was so hot we could not wait to get back to the villa and jump in the pool (please don't forget the thank 'the pool man'!). Paphos was a real culture day for us, the mosaics were absolutely fantastic, we have never seen the like anywhere else. We are also keen bird watchers and we saw a family of Eleonora's Falcons circling over the hills at the side of the villa while we were swimming in the pool ~ may not mean much to some people but for birdwatchers this would be a fantactic 'spot'. We would like to come back again and it would probably be earlier in the year when there are migrating birds and it is cooler so we can walk more.
