About the home

Luxury modern villa with stunning sea views of Pissouri Bay and private swimming pool, set in a very quiet location just a short walk from the beach and a variety of restaurants.

The villa has 3 bedrooms. The master bedroom is en-suite, with double bed, walk-in wardrobe and a private balcony which has stunning views across the full width of Pissouri Bay and inland towards the distant Troodos mountains. The second bedroom is also en-suite, with twin beds, ample fitted wardrobes and ceiling-to-floor windows again with stunning views of the bay. The third bedroom is downstairs with two large patio doors leading onto the pool area. It has twin beds, large fitted wardrobes and a separate shower room/WC.

The large lounge and double-height dining area are separated by a stunning contemporary fireplace, both rooms boasting sliding doors that lead out to the pool area and garden and more sea views. The lounge also contains a sofa-bed. Entertainment equipment includes LCD TV, DVD player, CD player, PS/2 with a selection of games, DVDs and books for your use.

Outside is a private pool (8m * 4m) and dining area which is perfect for enjoying al fresco dining and cool cocktails as the sun sets. A short walk takes you down to Pissouri Bay and its Blue Flag beach, one of the finest in Cyprus.

The kitchen is fully equipped with modern appliances, including electric cooker with ceramic hob, large fridge freezer, washing machine, microwave and dishwasher. You might prefer to stroll down to one of the tavernas located near the beach and enjoy Cypriot cuisine under the grape vines. The village up in the hills has a Cypriot night on Wednesdays in the summer, this is a must with bouzouki players performing in the cobbled village square surrounded by local tavernas.

All rooms have independently-controlled air conditioning.

We had a lovely stay at your villa and just wanted to send a quick message to apologise for forgetting to write in your visitors' book. The children loved the pool and we thought the villa was perfect for our stay with a lovely view of the sea. It was my first return to Cyprus after 7 years and although just a 4 day break we think the villa helped us make the most of our short time away [October 2010].

The villa was fantastic, pool great we loved it. The children loved all the pool toys, thank you. We have added a couple of extra things to the collection hope to come back in October [June 2011].

The patio is ideal for cocktails while watching the sun set over Pissouri Bay! The swimming pool has lighting for use after dark.

The Limassol region

Paphos and Limassol with their water parks, shops, tourist attractions and ancient sites are both just 20 minutes drive from the villa, while Nicosia, the Troodos mountains and Larnaca are around an hour’s drive. Aphrodite Hills and Secret Valley golf courses are around 15 minute’s drive, while Minthis Hills golf course is around 40 minutes away.

Other nearby sites include Kourion with its ruins and its fabulous amphitheatre looking out to sea, Kolossi with its castle, the Akrotiri Peninsula and the amazingly picturesque Aphrodite's Birthplace.

The Pissouri / Pissouri Bay area

Pissouri Bay is renowned for its sheltered, wide beach which boasts a Blue Flag, safe bathing and plenty of water sports activities for the more active. The beach is less than 10 minutes walk from the villa, passing on the way several tavernas, restaurants and grocery stores.

Far less commercialised than larger resorts such as Paphos and Coral Bay, Pissouri retains its original charm while managing to cater well for holiday-makers. The locals are very friendly, English is spoken everywhere and service is excellent.

Pissouri village has its own modern amphitheatre overlooking the sea and various cultural and entertainment events are held there throughout the season.

Easyjet, Ryan Air, Thomas Cook Airlines, British Airways, Cyprus Airways, Monarch, Eurocypria all fly UK to Paphos or Larnaca. Paphos airport is 20 minutes from Pissouri Bay, Larnaca is an hour.

“Superb villa in great location. Quiet area ideal for families.” Calypso is a excellent villa located 5 minutes walk from Pissouri bay and a 10minute driver from Pissouri village. The villa is clean, well furnished and equipped with pretty everythng you need for your stay. We have two small children who loved the villa and pool. Our only point of negative not was that the pool is a unifrom 5ft deep and is so not ideal for anyone with small children who cannot swim. Location wise your are approx 25mins from Limassol and 40mins from Papos, both of which are ealiy reached by one motorway. We had a great time, Jon (the owner) and Pam the local agent were informative, easy to deal with and helpful. We would highly recommend Calypso to anyone looking for somewhere to stay that is a little bit away from the main tourist areas.

“Convienence and comfort - what more could you ask for.” Great spot, within easy walking distance of the beach and lots of restaurants (500 meters). The VIlla was very well appointed with aircon in all the bedrooms and living space. The welcome pack was a very nice and useful touch as was the general presentation of the villa. The pool was in constant use from early to late, and the DVD and games consul where a welcome addition. The location is perfect, with a straight forward drive from Phapos airport and close to several attractions. Must visit the water park at Fissouri just before you get into Limissol. All in all a very relaxing holiday.

“Fabulously relaxing & lovely villa... would certainly return again!” We spent a wonderfully relaxing long weekend at Calypso and all four of us (two couples) couldn't rate it more highly. The pool was wonderful, the furninshings were perfect and the view and location were great. We spent the days by the pool and utilzed the BBQ, movies, and games that were provided in the evenings. We only went into town once (for dinner). The little village and beach is close enough to walk to, but we didn't feel any need to leave the villa! Would highly recommend this place to anyone. The only thing that's missing is Wifi... but if you're looking to get away from it all I suppose this is a plus.
