About the home
The villa sleeps up to six. There are 2 bedrooms; a double and a twin bedded room and a sofa bed in the lounge. The villa is fully air conditioned for your comfort. There is a large through lounge, dining and kitchen area with 2 sets of sliding patio doors open on to large sun terrace, with table and chairs overlooking the back garden where natural shade is provided by pine trees. On the development at Pine bay is a full sized tennis court, squash courts, a large pool with adjacent toddler pool and showers and a club house.
We bought this property as a holiday home to use ourselves. We fell in love with the area as you feel like you have really escaped withing minutes of leaving the airport.
The area (pine forest) is just so relaxing and Pissouri village a pretty traditional village. The development has combination of visitors and residents (mainly British) that are very friendly and helpful so you feel you are getting a 'real' experience, not just staying in a holiday resort.
There is lots to see in a short distance: villages, vineyards, beaches, mountains..even driving to the North is easy and not far.
The things we enjoy most are a stroll though the forest, the kids love to listen out for the cow (goat) bells and see the goats and I like to take in the wonderful sea views the other side and just breathe in that fresh air!
Another favourite is a stroll into the village for a nice mese in the village square. Pissouri village retains its traditional character with a pedestrianised central area. It has several family run tavernas and restaurants, a Greek Orthodox Church, a good bakery and butchers, postal agency, banks, internet café and supermarkets.
In the summer the village holds a Cyprus night in the square every Wednesday enjoyed by the locals and tourists alike, making it a true Cypriot experience.
Pissouri Bay is just a 5 minute drive from the village. It has its own selection of tavernas, supermarkets and bars. Watersports are available and the beach boasts a “Blue Flag” status.
Secret Valley Golf Club is 15 minutes away, Aphrodite Hills 10 mins and Tsada Golf Course 20 minutes by car

The villa has a nice terrace with table and chairs overlooking the landscaped garden. A BBQ and sunloungers are also provided for use.
The development has a communal pool, children's pool, play area, tennis courts, boules and a clubhouse. There is a pine forest at the end of the road for beautiful strolls. It is a 10 mins walk from Pissouri village and 20 minutes drive from Pafos and Limassol. Paphos Bird and Animal Park, Georges reptile sanctary, Pafos Aquarium, Fasouri Watermania and Aphrodite Waterpark, kids kingdom, Tombs of the Kings, The Kourion......all within 20 minute drive

5 minutes drive to a European certified blue flag beach at Pissouri Bay.

Skiing
In the winter months of January/February there is usually snow on the Troodos Mountains which is a 45 mins drive. There are ski lifts and three runs for beginner, intermediate and advanced levels.
Paphos airport is closest at only 20 minutes drive.
Larnaca airport is about 1 hours drive away.
Exploration
The Troodos area, has a wealth of small villages where vineyards, cherry orchards and goats provide a major income for the area as well as the notorious villages of Omodos and Platres visited by many tourists.

The Limassol region
Cyprus has a Mediterranean climate plentiful in sunshine throughout the year. The summer months stretch from Mid May through to Mid October guaranteeing you a holiday of almost unbroken sunshine. Even through the winter months of December, January and February, the sun shines for on average 6 hours per day, although it can rain. Average temperatures range from 13C in January to maximum mean daily temperature of 36C in the height of summer.
Apart for the fabulous weather, there is much else to do; being and island, water sports feature strongly. Discover the magic of the underwater world by snorkelling or diving in the warm crystal clear seas. Windsurfing and sailing can be enjoyed all the year round, thanks to steady winds and calm predictable seas, while coastal cruising and deep-water fishing are also popular. Walking, cycling, golf, fishing and horse riding are some of the other activities available. Hire a 4 by 4 and explore some of the breath taking scenery that is abundant all over the island from costal areas, ancient forts, to pine forests and mountain terrain all in a short drive.Try the waterpark for thrills, or bungee jumping for an extreme sensation.
Feel the romance where Aphrodite, goddess of love and beauty, once roamed. Visit the sea by the rocks known as Petra tou Romiou where she was believed to have risen from the waves, make a pilgrimage to her sanctuary at Kouklia, or see the grotto near Polis where she was supposed to have bathed.
The Pissouri / Pine Bay area
Pine Bay Villas is set just outside Pissouri, an unspoiled village near the mythological birthplace of Aphrodite, just off the main highway from Limassol to Paphos, halfway between the two towns and only 20 minutes from Paphos international airport.
The development is within the only remaining pine forest on the outskirts of Pissouri village and offers green views right down to the sea below and is ideally situated to explore coast, villages and mountains of friendly Cyprus.

This was our first visit to Cyprus and The Retreat was an ideal base. The villa is very bright and airy and is a very pleasant place to stay. It has all the facilities you require and is very clean. The villa is very easy to find - about 25 minutes from Paphos airport. The chap at the Sixt car hire at the airport gave us directions using the B6 instead of the motorway which was a pleasant drive. We ventured into Pissouri village but we were a bit too early in the season and only a couple of bars were open. Shopping-wise there is a very good supermarket on the B6 as you enter Pissouri and a petrol station there as well. Again the communal pool and site restaurant were still closed so we were unable to try out the facilities. Pine Bay is a largish development but doesn't feel overcrowded - however, in my opinion, a car is a must. The roads were quiet and it was a real pleasure to drive there. We have been travelling to Cyprus for 20 years and it has taken till now to find a real 'home from home'. We like to truely go 'self catering' and at 'The Retreat' there is everything one needs to do exactly that. Comfortable clean surroundings with the all the kitchen equipment you could need. In order to enjoy the sights we would recommend considering hiring a vehicle but there are plenty of places to eat in Pissouri village and a beautiful beach nearby. From the minute we arrived we felt at home, there was adequate kitchen equipment for us- everything worked properly (which isn't always so in rental properties).
