About the home

Proteus is a well-appointed, luxury three bedroom, two bathroom villa with excellent facilities and private swimming pool. The Villa boasts Wi-Fi internet access, full air conditioning, satellite TV, I POD dock and leather lounge suite.

The kitchen is well equipped with oven, hob,washing machine, dishwasher and fridge/freezer. You will also find a cool box and picnic equipment for trips to the beach!

The bedrooms are airy and spacious with lots of storage space and patio doors onto either the first floor terrace or pool terrace.

Facilities

In addition to the single and double beds, the Villa has two zed-beds that can be placed anywhere. The dining table can accommodate 8 people with ease.

The two bathrooms have deep baths with showers - a solar heating system (boosted by electric heating in the cooler months) gives a ready supply of piping hot water for baths and showers.

Further details outdoors:
The private swimming pool is maintained twice weekly to keep it in great condition. There are six sun loungers and a large hardwood patio dining suite. At the side of the garden is a pool shower.

The Outback gas barbecue is large enough to cook for eight to ten people. The garden area around the pool is mature with some grass areas for sunbathing.

At the front of the house, you will find a shaded carport and around the pool, a pergola and three large parasols offer ample shade.

A welcome pack is provided on arrival. All bedlinen and bathroom towels are included. A local english housekeeper lives close by.

In the Villa you will find a comprehensive information file with lots of detail about the Villa, the Village and surrounding area.

Smokers are welcome at Proteus,however for the comfort of our guests, the house itself is a no smoking area -we ask that smokers do so outside only.

Conditions

The Villa is available throughout the year and can be booked from any day in the week. Arrival time is after 2pm and guests are asked to depart before 11 am on the final day though this can be extended depending on follow - on bookings.

A 20% deposit secures bookings with the balance payable 8 weeks before travel.

Proteus is a non smoking Villa. We ask that, for the comfort of others, guests who wish to smoke do so outside on the terraces.

The Limassol region

The Villa is half way between the towns of Paphos and Limassol. Paphos is a busy tourist resort with lots of bars and tavernas offering a range of food including Chinese and Indian. The major fast food outlets have branches in Paphos.

The Harbour area of Paphos, close to the old castle is picturesque with tavernas lining the quayside. There, you will also find boat hire, boat trips (full / half day or evening),fishing trips and scuba diving.Close by the harbour you will find the archaeological site - this is a 'must do' whilst there - the Roman ruins and mosaic floors are stunning.

Along the front at Paphos, pavement artists, natural sponge sellers and numerous other their goods but are not 'in your face' in any way!

Limassol is more commercialised than Paphos. The town offers all of the trips, souvenir shops and services that you will find in Paphos bit is more of an administrative centre for the region and so, is more built up and focussed on business. The Old Town area is fantastic and similar to the harbour area of Paphos. There you will find some lovely trinket shops, tavernas and bars.

The Pissouri area

Pissouri consists of two areas. Pissouri Villageis a lively, family Village with numerous bars and tavernas open from morning until late. There aren't any night clubs but the taverna owners will stay open as long as you want them to!. The standard of food is excellent with Chinese, Italian and Indian available.

The paved square is safe for children and a great place to while the evenings away. Every Wednesday night from May to October, the Village stages a Cyprus night in the square with local dancers and other acts such as the man who balances a tower of glasses on his head. Tourists and locals alike join in.

There are lots of events in the Village open air amphitheatre including dance shows, opers, military bands and tribute acts.

There are three supermarkets in the Village, a greengrocers, butchers, internet cafe and three banks with ATMs.

Pissouri Beach has a similar mix of tavernas, bars and supermarkets. The Beach itself is a blue flag beach with great amenities including changing and shower facilities and sunbed / parasol hire. There are three watersports centres at the beach offering waterskiing, boat trips, sailing, jet ski hire, towed inflatables, canoes, windsurfing and more. There is also a scuba centre.

There are four golf courses within a short drive of the Village. The two closest - Aphrodite Hills and Secret Valley are only fifteen minutes by car / taxi. The courses are excellent with stunning views and all of the usual facilities that you would expect from top - class clubs.

Also at the Aphrodite Hills Resort and at the Columbia Beach Resort (Pissouri Beach) you will find five star spa facilities with a range of treatments on offer.

There are two main airports in the south of Cyprus - Paphos and Larnaca. Pissouri is around fifteen minutes from Paphos Airport and 80 minutes from Larnaca Airport. Both are well served by airlines from UK airports including British Airways, Cyprius Air and Olympic. Also, numerous charter operators offer flights to Cyprus including the budget airlines Easyjet from Manchester, Luton and Gatwick and Jet2 from Leeds - Bradford and East Midlands.

We can help you to hire a car using a local company that has proved most reliable over the years with collection / drop off at you airport or you may wish to search the internet for offers. All of the major hire companies have offices at the two Cyprus airports.

There are excellent local taxi and bus services.
